It is off the beaten path - not close to downtown and toursit attractions, but if you want to see part of Oslo most tourists do not see - and you will be rewarded by getting off the beaten path, take the Metro here - it's close by -- and enjoy Oslo at its best.

A bit far from city centre, but very convenient by bus or tram.
Staff is super friendly and the place is quite cute.
Unfortunately my locker for the closet has broken when checking out, it took some efforts to solve..the reception girl is very helpful and responsible.

This hotel is well located to explore Oslo. The breakfast buffet is large, varied and excellent. The staff are friendly, but could be better informed to help guests with their questions. Rooms are relatively spacious with a. funky modern decor but aren’t cleaned unless guests request it. The included dinner can be hit or miss in terms of quality, quantity and service. Overall, a good, not a great, choice.

I would really have liked to have given this a five star review, because the reception staff were super friendly, making sure I knew where the tourist attractions were and how to get there on my first day and letting me use the toilet when I popped back on my last day well after I’d checked out, as well as giving me a room with a phenomenal view of the fjord, but a couple of things took the shine off for me. One was the lack of air con. I mis-understood how hot Oslo could be, which is kind of on me and not the hotel BUT the DIY open window and fan arrangement weren’t entirely satisfactory, and while I was in my room, I never felt entirely comfortable with how hot I was. I guess the opposite could also be true if you can’t control how hot or cold your room gets in winter (when I assume my imaginings of snow drifts is actually a thing). Secondly was the breakfast. I can in no way fault the food - smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, bread, carrot cake (always a joy, whatever the time of day), melon, cheese and ham, but trying to find a table was sometimes impossible. It was particularly difficult for me as a solo traveller. It involved getting up early, crossing my fingers and piling everything on my plate in one go, just in case. Some days it was fine, but one day, after walking what felt like the entire length of the shopping centre getting increasingly dispondent, I had to perch on the end of a table with a group of pensioners who were staying there after two weeks travelling up and down Scandinavia together on train. Fortunately I am mature enough to be able to make small talk, but I can see how it wouldn’t go down so well with everyone else. Coffee was also a hit hit and miss - I was only offered some two out of four days. These little quirks are a real shame, because the location is great (handy for the train and city centre tourist attractions), and as I say, the staff on reception were lovely (and based on what I heard while I was standing in line, some of the other guests can be quite demanding). If I’m in Oslo again, I would definitely consider staying here again (but maybe bring a handheld fan or multiple layers of clothing, depending on the season) and maybe avoiding the breakfast.

Excellent location for direct airport transfers by express train as well as commuting around Oslo. Walking distance to POI as well as shopping belt.
The hotel is only 5 mins walk from central station yet not affected by the bustle of the station.
Self Check in was so super easy. We had a room on a high floor with terrace which had a vantage view of the central station.
Room is clean & good size although the mattresses could be firmer.
All things considered, a very good 3 night stay. Will definitely recommend!

We needed a place to stay overnight as we were connecting a flight at OSL. One of the airport hotels seems like an obvious choice as we only had 14 hours in Oslo. We didn't require a lot of service as it was a brief stay but whatever service we received from the staff were mediocre at best. On the surface the hotel looks okay but a closer look reveals the poor condition of the place. The door seal was torn and the laminate sheet on the bathroom door were starting to peel. Dust was collecting on the glasses in the room, suggesting it hadn't been used/cleaned for a while. The room was very warm and the air conditioner did little to condition the temperature. The windows were permanently shut so there was no way to ventilate the room. We raised our concern with the hotel and got given an electric fan. Surely making the windows functional would've made more sense. If safety is a concern then there are windows that only open a few inches wide, thus mitigating the risk of a fall. If it was a really hot day I could imagine guests suffering from the lack of ventilation. For us it was a discomfort. Shower screen was poorly designed and it was difficult to keep the floor outside the shower area dry. For the asking price I expected more.
It didn't need to be special or luxury. It just needed to be well maintained and functional.

Excellent
GGuest UserThis is an exceptional hotel for quality and service. We were able to check in early to a spacious room with all the extras, hair dryer, mini bar, snacks, iron facilities and drinks tray. Great comfy beds and bathroom facilities.
The car park is underground accessible from the rear of the hotel and is secure with a lift to directly within the hotel
The breakfast is vast and great quality with the chefs regularly doing quality control of the food and dining staff efficiently clearing tables.
We ate in the restaurant and it was good quality. I must mention the young man who served us as his customer service was exceptional not to mention his cocktail mixing skills! Nothing was too much trouble.
The reception staff were really helpful in helping us with the public transport and although the hotel is located on the perimeter of the city both tram and bus stops were located within minutes of the hotel and we’re easy to navigate with the routers app.
All the staff we came into contact with were both helpful and professional and were all good ambassadors for the hotel group.
I would not hesitate in a heart beat to recommend this hotel, thank you for the service.
GGuest UserA beautiful room but experienced a number of disappointments.
Hotel guests must pay a supplement daily charge to use the swimming pools AND book at designated time slot. I have NEVER experienced this at any hotel anywhere in the world. I was in a premium room, but this policy applies to all guests, which I think is awful. It was also impossible to get a spa appointment during my stay. Zero preference given to hotel guests. I strongly suggest you book spa treatments at least a week in advance of your arrival. Also, there is no turndown service, unusual for a highly priced 5* hotel. Housekeeping also finishes very early, or isn’t interested in guests who don’t align with their schedule. I had to work in my room but left at 2:45pm and it was not cleaned despite signalling the room needed making up. The reception team were polite, but chaotic. Generally, the hotel restaurants seem more focused on catering to outside guests, which is a shame.
Such a gorgeous place to stay! We stayed here for 4 nights for our time in oslo. We pre ordered early check in (subject to availability) and just phoned the day before to see if it was available- luckily it was. The apartments are beautiful, all mod cons and wonderfully clean. Our 11 year old daughter slept on the sofa bed and said it was fine. One of the nicest showers I've ever had! Close to the tram, a lovely Bakery (Baker hansen) super market (kiwi) and fab Italian restaurant (olivia) as well as many other shops. We made use of the washing machine and tumble dryer which were very useful (we took a couple of fairy washing capsules with us). On the last day they were happy for us to leave our bags. I cannot recommend The Sweet enough, a beautiful place to stay in a great location with helpful staff. 5 stars!
GGuest UserIf you're travelling solo and want somewhere handy in the centre of Oslo and aren't too fussed about some usual hotel comforts, then this will tick the box. It's not super expensive but it could also be a bit cheaper for what it offers. The rooms feel like university student rooms, which isn't a bad thing per se. I'm unsure what larger rooms looked like but despite mine having a double bed, 2 people would feel pretty cramped in there. The bathroom/shower was good, no fault there. The bed was comfy but the matress tended to slide around. There's no room service for cleaning up or refreshing linen, they do that on rotations of their own choosing. If you really want that service (which in any other hotel is a daily one) you can request I think. This is fine for 1 night but after a while you feel a bit grimy. I found some clumps of hair on the floor and in an underbed drawer. There's no kettle in the room which is the bare basic that a room should have in terms of amenities so people can make their own tea, coffee or noodles etc. You can buy tea or coffee in reception but it's worth just heading outside to grab something. My room didn't have wardrobe storage but did have wall bracket-hangers which did the job. There were plenty of sockets for charging things. Like I said for a person solo travelling and not wanting a hostel, this place is fine for 1 night or 2. I stayed 3 and it was too long in that hotel and too long in Oslo in general.
BBillNot a good experience at Numa Hallen. NOT RECOMMENDED. Rooms are big, clean and quiet. However, the “hotel” is not supported by any staff.
The digital check in failed initially. We did not receive the check in email as advised. Maybe if you book directly with Numa, not a third party like Trip, this might work. Don’t know. We rang the web site and Trip advertised phone number to get a check in email. It is disconnected. This defect is recorded in previous reviews, Does anyone read these complaints?
Read the previous reviews and noted the WhatsAPP number to be found at door front. Was ready for this we thought. The WhatsAPP number only has a virtual attendant. So no verbal communication available only short text messages readable. Jumped through many hoops and eventually received our check in details on the kerb outside the hotel. Thought we would be sleeping on the street for a while.
Once inside we noted the big sign in kitchen about leaving a window open when cooking. Next morning all fire alarms in the hotel section went off. A closed window somewhere perhaps. Alarm couldn’t be shut off so we evacuated with our bags like many others. Guess it must happen often due to the prominence of the sign.
The experience wasn’t good and is a great example of technology making life more difficult. The quest to remove people from hospitality jobs diminishes the hospitality aspect. It also leaves no backup except for meaningless, valueless, unaccountable apologies.
The communications failures and fire alarm intrusion are significant infrastructure short comings.
Wouldn’t stay there again.
GGuest UserSuper location. Right next to oslo city mall and central station and all transport and entertainment food options. This is a modern hotel (or very thoroughly renovated). Entrance was very busy or maybe because I was there at around 2 pm. Very nice looking lobby with lots of seating spaces and good vibes. An Andy Warhol is a. Ice touch. Check in was smooth but room was not ready so I kept my bags in their bag room. It was ready when I came back at around 240. Elevator is a combination of using your card and entering your floor on a touch screen so don’t just hop in with someone else. Room was really modern, hip and user friendly. Smart tv, lots of storage spaces and big bathroom. The view was of the inner courtyard so not much. Bed was very comfortable and really overall liked the room a lot. Depending on your room number it could be a bit of a walk from the elevator so keep that in mind. I tried out the basement level which had sauna, pool, gym. Gym looked good but didn’t use and the sauna was very nice. The pool is round, very small and about the only negative of the hotel. Forget laps, you can sort of float around but even that becomes a problem if 2 or 3 people are in there. I wanted to see the views from the top so went to their restaurant and must say had a wonderful time. I wrote a separate review on Norda but suffice to say it was well worth the visit just for the views alone and the food was very good as well. Finally the breakfast was something else. Honestly I doubt if anyone can try out all the dishes as there are so many. Quality stuff I must add, different types of salmon, avocado halves(!) and what not. Really something to behold. Overall though definitely not cheap, I really liked the modern aesthetic, the prime location and excellent room facilities and the breakfast and Norda were just icing on the cake.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is near convenience stores and many restaurants, and it's also close to museums and the opera house, making sightseeing very convenient. The hotel boasts a very modern and innovative design, and it is relatively new. The rooms are clean, safe, and quiet.
The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful, and kind. The hotel facilities are also excellent, including a 24-hour self-service coffee and tea bar and a 24/7 gym facility.
The only bad thing is that it is a 10-minute walk from the central train station.
AAdalineTruly one of the best hotel stays I have ever experienced. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well accommodated and comfortable throughout. When we arrived at the hotel it was 11AM, so I mentioned to the front desk staff that I know it was far too early for us to receive our room (check in is typically at 3PM) and that we would like to simply drop off our bags. Without any special requests, the front desk staff immediately prepared our room keys of us to check in right away, which was hugely appreciated since we had caught a very early morning flight in. We loved the room. It was very comfortable for the 3 of us, although a bit tight but that's what we expected for hotel rooms in Europe. The bathroom was well fitted and had all the basic toiletries required (shampoo, body wash, hand soap), however we hoped to have body lotion as well, so we asked housekeeping whether any was available and they immediately brought 3 LARGE bottles for each of us to use. I have never seen such massive toiletries and in such generous quantities supplied at any hotel before, which again made us feel very well taken care of. Finally on our check out day our flight was not until 6PM and since checkout is typically at 11AM I requested for just a 1 hr extension. Although they were very busy for it being the beginning of summer holidays, without any hesitation the front desk staff extended our checkout time to 3PM. I was once again very pleasantly surprised and appreciative. My last note is to touch on the complimentary tea and coffee always available in the lobby, as well as the fabulous buffet breakfast they served. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!
PPetreThe hotel is located at 5-6 minutes relaxed walking from the train station - just near the sea. It has a small lobby, but we could also use some tables of its restaurant, while enjoying free coffee or tea throughout the day. It also offers light dinner included in the price and it was one of the reasons I selected it. The dinner includes buffet of few salads and amazing dressings, as well a daily soup, a meal and freshly baked bread. The breakfast was very tasty, beautifully decorated on a small table - including varieties of options for every taste, immediately re-filled when emptied. Everything offered was of a high quality.
There is also a free gym and sauna.
The room is not big, but is sufficient. Nice decoration. Not too big beds in a twin. The toilet is quite tiny, with intelligent shower cabin.
Nice huge windows with sun the whole day long. Surprisingly - there was no fridge. The TV had only few, national channels.
All staff members are very polite and helpful.
I got the room immediately on arrival - few hours before official check-in time. The check-out is really fine - set at noon. There is very small, but free luggage room.
Finally - I got very good price for it on Trip.com, compared to the other providers.
GGuest UserThis facility created solid value for my wife and I visiting our son's family here last September, and for me again this May. Located immediately adjacent to both the Tube and bus stops is hugely efficient for getting around, which is rarely more than 5-6 Rube stops or 6-8 bus stops. The ability to use both systems at a single location is great. The 'built-in' shopping complex, and the overall adjacent restaurants, create a 'village' feel that really keeps the travel time, cost and effort down. The riverside walk, especially down the Aker river to the harbourfront, makes for a long ”downtown” day, but it's so worth it. And I'm 75, recovering from 2 knee-replacement surgeries!
