It is recommended to avoid thunderbolts. It is hard to imagine how such a hotel can be rated five stars. Public environment: The hotel is very small, there is almost no front desk, the corridor is a narrow corridor of only one meter wide, and there is no elevator. Room: We booked an ordinary room and a suite. They are very small. The ordinary room is so small that there is no place to put the luggage. Service: The front desk service we encountered was very poor and neglected people. We were two adults and two children. We were told that the law does not allow more than three people in a room. We were asked to leave one adult and book a room in another hotel (because the hotel was full that night), and they did not agree to my check-out, and did not give any other solutions. As a result, my husband had to go to another hotel on the first night, which was really incredible. However, the service of the restaurant department was still good In summary: It is not worth the price. There must be better choices in Oxford

The hotel has very convenient parking, which is the first choice for self-driving tours. There is a restaurant downstairs, which is also the check-in place. At first, I wondered if I had gone to the wrong place, but when I got to the room, I found it was a different world. The hotel is very warm, with a welcome card and free fresh milk. Every decoration in the room is full of British style, even the paintings on the wall are full of stories about Oxford, and the toiletries are also very exquisite. I love the library downstairs, which feels like a university campus. The hotel is also in a good location, very close to attractions such as the Bridge of Sighs!

It is a very historical house. There is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow. The decoration inside is small, exquisite and clean. The front desk clerk will help carry the luggage to the room and take the guests to visit and explain. The newly decorated room is very warm and comfortable. There is also a thoughtful handwritten welcome card, which makes people feel like they are always home.

The front desk collects a deposit, and the water and milk in the room are free. The front desk guy helps deliver luggage to the room. The restaurant on the first floor has a real fireplace, the fire is burning🔥, it is warm and has a full sense of scope. There is also a library on the second floor

A hidden gem in the heart of Oxford, offering a luxurious room furnished to the highest standard, amazing food and consistently attentive staff. We stayed in the Randolph suite, which was so perfectly finished there was not a hair out of place. A huge comfy bed, air conditioning and beautiful soft furnishing. We had afternoon tea on the terrace, which great value and very tasty. In the evening we had dinner, again on the terrace under the huge heated umbrellas. The food was great, I had the rabbit pie and my partner the monkfish, both of which we great, the staff were attentive and friendly. I had a named parking space and there were 2 EV charging points at the property. We will definitely be back!

We had the delight of staying at The Old Parsonage Hotel for only two nights earlier this month, post cruise and before flying home. A wonderful old building, renovated beautifully to enable it to keep its old charm and majesty. The outside dining area is governed by an ancient looking wisteria and lovely garden, the tables almost completely covered by a canopy of white umbrellas to ward off sprinkles of rain or high sun. The staff are friendly and professional, not to mention uncommonly strong! The two young ladies, Ella and Amira, who hefted our luggage up and down a tight circular staircase are not to be trifled with! The housekeeping ladies caught on to our affection for the packaged cookies left for us and made sure we were well stocked. The location of The Old Parsonage made it very easy for us to walk to the busier area and see Oxford University and its many buildings, as well as a pilgrimage to The Eagle & Child, and two trips to the Ashmolean Museum. It is also right on the bus route we needed to go to Wolvercote Cemetery to pay our respects to Prof Tolkien. The staff of The Old Parsonage also recommended an excellent guide for us and lined up a wonderful walking tour with her, Isabella Underhill. We had told her our particular interest in all things Tolkien and she delivered! Oxford has so much history and connections (my Mom was an avid Morse fan) that we felt a special vibe, and The Old Parsonage Hotel was the perfect fit for us. We hope we will find ourselves there again one day in the near future.

We stayed at this property in July and booked two rooms at peak summer pricing. No AMEX upgrade was provided, and hotel gave us the smallest two rooms we've literally ever stayed in. Also, we couldn't even get up the small, narrow staircase with our luggage. The worst part was the front desk experience. We explained that we needed to drop our daughter off at Oxford at would checkout at 1pm sharp. Rude front desk agent told us that he would charge us 70 pounds per hour per room!! Needless to say, we left this property and will never return!
Response from Property: Dear Sayan2, Thank you for sharing your review regarding your recent visit to the Old Parsonage Hotel. We apologize that your expectations were not fully met during your stay with us. As the Old Parsonage Hotel is a listed building, installing a lift is challenging. However, our team is always available to assist with luggage to and from the rooms. As an independent company, we regret that we are not affiliated with the AMEX loyalty program. Regarding our check-out procedure, which can be found in our terms and conditions, we are pleased to offer a complimentary late check-out until 12 pm, subject to availability. After this time, there is a £50 fee per hour for any late requests. If we have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future, please let us know in advance if you require any assistance, and we will do our best to accommodate you. Best regards,

Truly the most wonderful experience we have had for such a long time . Hotel itself is gorgeous , staff so kind , friendly and just can’t do enough for guests. Room , bed and all bathroom absolutely sumptuous . Food tremendous , breakfast superb and we ate dinner two nights on trot in restaurant . Chefs are wonderful . What a haven we have found in Oxford.

A first visit and over the years I have had so many recommendations and positive feedback from both friends and family. It was a lovely sunny day and we had afternoon tea in the beautiful walled terrace. The afternoon tea was pretty average, perhaps my expectations were too high. The most disappointing aspect was the service or lack of service as the staff seemed disinterested, never gave us a menu for the tea/drinks options, we had to ask and then no-one came to take the order, we had to ask again and we were half way through the food before the tea/drinks arrived. One of our party went inside to say thank-you and goodbye and the member of staff barely lifted his head to acknowledge her and never replied. Lovely ambience, probably wouldn't recommend or return, which is a shame. We really shouldn't have paid the service charge. which is our fault for not asking for it to be removed from the bill.
Response from Property: Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this concise feedback regarding your recent experience at the Parsonage Grill. I am sorry to hear that the food and our service did not meet your expectations. Please rest assured that your comment has been shared with our Heads of Department to improve our service. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future and we hope to restore your faith in us. Kind regards, Matylda Jablonska Assistant Front Office Manager

Amazing hotel! The rooms are immaculate. The staff is helpful, kind, and incredibly accommodating. I mentioned off-hand that I had a gluten allergy and they left gluten free cookies in my room. The restaurant food and breakfast food is fantastic. Absolutely no complaints and I would book a room at this hotel again in a heartbeat. Overall, I would highly recommend the Old Parsonage.

very lovely and atmospheric hotel with really fab art works and comfortable beds. we were right at the top of the building and the tiny doorways gives a real feeling of the ancient history of the building. breakfast was delicious. I suppose what we really liked was that it was an easy and pleasant stroll into the centre of Oxford and all its marvellous historic sites
