"I was welcomed warmly by the reception staff of the hotels namely Leen and Elena. The location is very accesible to the City Centre and located in the Oxford conviniently with markets and restaurant around the vicinity. The place is clean and cosy. The rooms are beautiful and worth the price for an overnight stay. I really enjoyed Oxford and the experience I had with the hotel"
"Everything about the hotel was great, except for its slightly remote location. The room was spacious enough, the staff had a wonderful attitude, and there's a gas station nearby, along with a KFC, Starbucks, and two convenience stores, making shopping and dining quite convenient. The super large bed was incredibly comfortable!"
"I had a fantastic stay at Leonardo Royal Hotel whenever I visit Oxford twice a year! All the members on the reception are very helpful friendly professional and efficient! Especially thanks to Lina Tiffany Amanda and Asian managers!
The room is nice and clean, spacious, good to open the window to get some fresh air!
Highly recommended to anyone who wants to visit Oxford.
I would like to come back again in the near future! Thanks!
All the best
Kim"
"Good location – close to town but not right in the centre, which worked well. Room was fine, bathroom and shower all good, and the air con worked properly. Parking was also a big plus."
"Facilities: The hotel is a residential building, the room is very small, and the aisle is narrow; there is no air conditioning, even if it is more than 10 degrees, the room can obviously feel hot (stay cautious in summer! ! !); there is still a walk distance of nearly half an hour from Oxford
The advantage is that it has its own parking lot, but the entrance is a bit narrow and needs attention
Hygiene: OK
Environment: General
Service: Very warm, the staff is very good
In short, the service is nothing wrong; the room is too small and too hot, the facilities are old"
"The bathroom and linens were quite clean. However, the room was a bit on the small side, making it a tight squeeze to fully open our luggage. As for breakfast, don't set your expectations high; it's pretty much standard fare for hotels across the UK. It's ideal if you're driving, as free parking is available. The area around the hotel is very quiet, and the room itself had excellent soundproofing."
"the hotel is quite and in a lovely location .
The rooms are nice very comfortable beds and bedding with spacious modern bathrooms.
The room Ihad was unfortunately lacking a view as it was overlooking the aircon units .
The front of house staff were excellent and went over and above to ensure I had a nice stay .
The only downside I felt and feedback was that the bar /resturant area lacked any atmosphere the bar is unmanned there’s no encouragement to utilise the area and you feel that’s it not to be used so i often drank and ate elsewhere.
hence the 4/5"
"This hotel is just next to the Queen's Lane bus stop. Oxford Tube, and the mega bus stop there. Therefore it is very convenient to go out and into Oxford. It is close to the University as well.
The only inconvenience is that there are steps everywhere, from the entrance to the reception, and to my room. This probably a general problem with old buildings in UK. Otherwise no other complains about the service.
The bedding are very conformable - this is definitely a highlight."
"The hotel in general has good facilities, staff are polite except the lady who checked in for us on our first night. There was some confusion between the booking at the trip.com and the hotel, but the receptionist was being rude and stated that only booking for 2 adults can be seen on their system and wouldn’t check us in while we paid for the extra kid. While we understood she was doing her work, her attitude appeared cold and rude and not helpful. Apart from that, the stay was pleasant."
"This is a hotel converted from an old castle prison. It is very innovative. There are two types of rooms. One is a room converted from two cells, and the other is a normal room. The window of the room converted from the cell is a small upper window like in the prison. The normal room I booked has a balcony. It depends on everyone's preference. The room has a coffee machine and a towel heating rod. The shower room is small and the button area is large, but it takes some skills to press it. The first time I pressed it for a long time, it didn't trigger. The air conditioning in my room was slightly insufficient, but the hotel service staff actively solved the problem. The overall service was very warm and thoughtful, sharing town maps and so on, so despite the slight inconvenience, I still like the style and service of this hotel. The breakfast is also good, and the black pudding is awesome. In addition, some rooms have stairs in addition to the elevator. If you have large luggage, you can try to contact the hotel to use the small elevator, as shown in the last picture"

Very Good
GGuest UserWe were attending a wedding in Oxford and the city centre hotels were very expensive. The reviews for the Black Boy were good so we booked. It was a joy to stay here and we had a fabulous weekend.. Great location - about 10 mins in taxi from centre and bus stop about 5 mins or so walk. Buses went to the city centre and railway station. The room was lovely, as were the welcoming staff. Breakfasts were very good and the pub had a nice atmosphere and an outside garden area. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oxford.
GGuest UserWe loved staying at the Mad hatter. The location is only 10-15 mins from the city centre, staff was ever so helpful, and the room is very atmospheric, it felt incredibly lush without being over the top and tacky. The room was very clean and felt brand new. Only downside is the karaoke bar downstairs, but they kindly provide earplugs and anyway it stops early. We would definitely book it again.
SSalmanN100 Banbury is one of the better places to stay in Oxford; whether you’re there for work or leisure. It’s approx 300 feet from two bus stations, but if you’re up for it, a 20 minute walk from central Oxford.
Our check-in, luggage storage, and the check-out processed were seamless. The only reason I’d give this 4/5 for amenities is the lack of ironing facility in-room. Would be great if it had a Muslim shower too, but that’s the case with (almost) every place you’re going to stay at in England.
CCharmaine LeungThe rooms are bright, clean and spacious. There is a small private parking area just outside the hotel. It's safe and located in a convenient location. Good choice!
GGuest UserFantastic place for a quiet stay within a 25-minute walk of Oxford city centre. The accommodation is clean, spacious, and well-maintained, making it a truly relaxing retreat. We had to be up early in the morning, but the location was very quiet. Mandy who assisted us with check in was incredibly professional and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience. Highly recommend this gem.
GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is relatively remote, although there is a bus at the door, it is still not convenient. Surrounding supermarkets and restaurants are relatively far away
The room was clean and tidy, but the top floor was stuffy in summer and the soundproofing was not good. There is no elevator, it is troublesome to drag a heavy suitcase, there is no refrigerator and other facilities, no breakfast, no refrigerator...
The luggage is too heavy, the front desk will help run the plum, the attitude is warm
GGuest UserThe staff there were very enthusiastic and friendly, and the room was clean and tidy. The house's location is perfect, close to the train station, and very convenient. The power sockets in the room are a bit few, it is inconvenient to can not charge at the bedside.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is located in the center of Oxford, about 10 minutes' walk from the bus station. There are several chain supermarkets near the bus station, which is quite convenient. A refrigerator and a microwave are provided in the room, and the heating is sufficient. The toilet drains slowly, and the water will overflow if you are not careful when taking a shower.
GGuest UserThe house has a relatively large backyard, which can park several cars. Since we rented a car and drove around the UK, we had to find a yard where we could park. It is close to Oxford University and you can walk there. The surrounding environment is very quiet and the room is very clean. We are a family of three and three beds are very convenient.
MM635462****The bus takes 25 minutes to the center of Oxford. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Oxford, near the ordinary residential area. It is very safe and convenient. There is Subway across the road and three bus stops within 200 meters.
The hotel is very old, and a small piece of the wall paint in the toilet of the room I stayed in fell off. However, the sanitation is good, no insects or obviously unclean places were found, the spider webs were also cleaned, and the bathtub and shower were working properly.
It is very suitable for one or two people to travel. In the peak tourist season, the hotel of 900 RMB is one of the few affordable options for overnight stay in Oxford.
