Great
GGuest UserExcellent location, a lovely walk into the town centre which means you can enjoy the beautiful city without the hassle of trying to park and avoid the new congestion charge.
Beds are really comfy and rooms are really quiet. We used to always stay at the Randolph but Voco is just miles better value for money and quieter.
LLilit AdamianIt is truly a fairy-tale hotel — the rooms feel as if they come straight out of a classic English story. Everything is neat, clean, and thoughtfully designed, making the stay very comfortable.
The location is excellent, perfect for exploring Oxford on foot. The lobby area is especially beautiful — elegant, cozy, and welcoming, setting the tone from the moment you arrive.
Overall, the experience was extremely pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to experience the true charm and atmosphere of Oxford.
GGuest UserClean and tidy! The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful! The breakfast selection was rich and varied! Convenient transportation! Quiet despite being in a bustling area!
GGuest UserWe were attending a wedding in Oxford and the city centre hotels were very expensive. The reviews for the Black Boy were good so we booked. It was a joy to stay here and we had a fabulous weekend.. Great location - about 10 mins in taxi from centre and bus stop about 5 mins or so walk. Buses went to the city centre and railway station. The room was lovely, as were the welcoming staff. Breakfasts were very good and the pub had a nice atmosphere and an outside garden area. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oxford.
GGuest UserEnjoyable stay at this good hotel, which had a clean room and very friendly staff. Good location away from the rush and noise - about a 20 minute walk from the city centre, or a 5 minute bus ride. Hotel parking for £10/day is good value compared to local car parks and meters.
CCywRobIt is a very basic place to stay. Although there is space for restaurants, no meals are provided. When I checked in, I happened to meet a doorman and let me enter the room a few hours in advance, but after 10 o'clock in the morning, I urged me to clean the room for the guests at the back. I didn’t see any other guests or any other staff during my two nights or three days of my stay! There is a common area downstairs with sofas to sit on but no service either. There are two other very popular hotels tens of meters away from the south and west. I went to their restaurant to eat! Next stay must book them early.
GGuest UserThe talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure, temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times.
IIsmoil KamolovThere is only one of the advantages, closer to the railway station, otherwise there are only disadvantages, the room is very cold, the batteries are weak, the heated towel rail does not work at all, it is very cold in the shower, and hot water is also a big problem, a complete disappointment😣😣😣
PprimahuangNewton's house.
It is a three-story family remodeled house, with small space, but very clean. It belongs to no one to check in. Before you come, you will send you an email telling you the electronic lock password and the key is placed at the door.
This location is excellent, walking to Oxford University Christian Church is very close, to the town center is also very close.
Oxford has no subway, the place is not big, the whole journey can be walked.
If you have more luggage, take a taxi from Oxford Railway Station to Newton House.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is located in the center of Oxford, about 10 minutes' walk from the bus station. There are several chain supermarkets near the bus station, which is quite convenient. A refrigerator and a microwave are provided in the room, and the heating is sufficient. The toilet drains slowly, and the water will overflow if you are not careful when taking a shower.
