The hotel is quite secluded, surrounded by residential areas. The yard is big enough for kids to run around freely. The hotel food was good. However, the breakfast policy for children did not match the description on Ctrip, and the front desk staff was very rude. They also didn't inform us about the à la carte service, which felt a bit discriminatory. You really have to fight for your rights!

Because of the traffic jam on the road and rain, it has been more than 6 o'clock to the hotel. The front desk of the hotel has checked in. There is no elevator. The corridor is narrow. I asked the staff if they could help carry the luggage. The dark-skinned female front desk said that they could not. We could carry the luggage a little bit. The female front desk was very impatient. Said that our luggage can not be put at the front desk, chatting for a long time, can't wait for 2 minutes? There is a time for nonsense, our luggage is carried up, it turned out that she is going to get off work, very unpleasant experience! Check out at 10 o'clock the next day, the car has to drive out to find a parking space on the street, it is not recommended for this hotel! In addition, the 3-person room is very small, the price is very expensive, the price is super bad!

Close to the station and Oxford University, walking attractions are all done. The breakfast is rich and affordable. The room is also very good, spacious and comfortable. The only two dissatisfaction: 1. The old house has no elevator, there is a suitcase to move upstairs, the stairs are particularly narrow. 2. The front desk has to press the credit card 💳. I was afraid of being stolen and wanted to press cash to be rejected. I couldn't stay without giving him a visa credit card message. I was deadlocked for a while. I used the elderly card to press the message and locked the card directly. I don't know why it is so rigid.

very nice boutique hotel with a good bar and restaurant below. The room nice, clean, minimalist but good furniture and decent shower. Only one complaint - if you are not a fan of capsule coffee (and I am definitely not) and you just want a cup of tea, it's a pain to have to google the coffee machine to work out how to use it when just a simple kettle would have been fine. Just 4 for the location because of the chaos at the Botley road bridge which is going on till this time next year at least! Lovely breakfast menu with good service.

We were attending a wedding in Oxford and the city centre hotels were very expensive. The reviews for the Black Boy were good so we booked.  It was a joy to stay here and we had a fabulous weekend..  Great location - about 10 mins in taxi from centre and bus stop about 5 mins or so walk.  Buses went to the city centre and railway station.  The room was lovely, as were the welcoming staff.  Breakfasts were very good and the pub had a nice atmosphere and an outside garden area.  Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oxford.

The talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure, temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times.

It's a B&B-style hotel, but it's a bit far away. Other things are good. I asked them not to clean the room, but the staff still cleaned it actively. In addition, the sound insulation and light blocking effects of the room are not good.

The location is very good, in the center of Oxford, very convenient to go anywhere, there is a Lanzhou ramen restaurant downstairs, the taste is very good. The room with breakfast is booked, the breakfast is very monotonous, not recommended, there are many supermarkets and restaurants around, you can buy anything to eat. And we left early on the last day, and did not have breakfast. The hotel wins in the location, it is very convenient. The facilities and services are average

Great stay and great customer service on arrival. breakfast was good as well with plenty of choices. Location is not too bad, in fact around 30min walk to city. On-site parking was provided. Amenities were just ok. Room was quite small but cozy. I was worried of the busy road at front, but it turned out to be ok for Sunday morning.

The hotel is very clean and well maintained, and overall the room was comfortable and tidy. Its location is very convenient, close to Oxford city centre, making it easy to get around and explore the city on foot or by public transport. One important thing to note is that there is no free parking available, and the hotel does not provide on-site parking spaces. If you’re travelling by car, you’ll need to arrange nearby paid parking in advance. Overall, a good option for cleanliness and location, but not ideal if you’re driving.
