For a beachfront hotel, it’s nice but definitely needs updating. We upgraded to a suite with beachfront view. The view was beautiful and calming. The room itself was a good size with a full size bed and a little divider wall separating the room from the futon. There was a microwave and mini fridge. We had a bathtub which was helpful for our small kids. All in all the room was fine but nothing spectacular, it served the purpose of sleep. The view though was amazing. Breakfast was ok nothing fancy but it did the job of feeding us. The pool was nice and big, not deep I think it was only 3 and 4 feet. The staff were kind and accommodating. They spoke English well. The property is about a 15 min tricycle ride to town and they had a driver waiting. You can also take a car, the front desk will give you a list of numbers you can call. Take advantage of the tables and chairs facing the beach- it was lovely just sitting and admiring the view. I’d recommend this hotel if you’re looking for simple beachfront accommodations but don’t expect five star.

Excellent place for staycation with family and loved ones if you want a place where you can relax and breathe sea breeze with nice ambience. Has friendly, approachable and professional hotel staffs, rooms are opened using a key card - spacious with minimalist designs, beds and comforters are nice, with free water bottles, water heater and coffee. Also comes with clean toilet with free toiletries (towel, toothbrush & toothpaste, comb, razor, soap, shower cap & vanity kit [cotton buds] also includes free rubber slippers for all around and comfy use) as well as hair dryer/blower attached at the side of bathroom mirror, the room also has a vault safety box, flatscreen TV and mini refrigerator. The buildings have elegant structures. They also have really great swimming pool area! We got a room that is pool access and it made our stay more wonderful. Foods are delicious. Great buffet set up. Sunset can be watched at the rooftop of the gazebo near the seashore. You can borrow and ride a bicycle inside the hotel premises and do kayaking if the sea is high tide. Very nice and instagrammable place! Will definitely come back here for sure.

I've stayed in this hotel before, and I keep returning since it's affordable, safe, and has decent rooms and a spacious parking lot—features that other hotels in Palawan lack.I've recently noticed that they no longer offer airport service, although they have contacts for taxi drivers in case you need one. However, it would be great if they could add the airport pickup and drop-off once more for a hassle-free trip, especially for those visiting Palawan for the first time .Being somewhat honest, some taxis, vans, and tricycles take advantage of tourists by charging them more than the normal.

Trip started with Kuya Darwin, one of their very friendly and competent drivers. Super near and accessible to nearby tours that you can book at the front desk. Our room was quite modern with a spacious and comfortable bed, with just the right amount of pillows! Food and drinks were a highlight being very affordable with great serving sizes! Overall great stay with all the amenities you need.

Our stay at Southwind Palawan was kind of disappointing. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean but the value-for-money ratio all in all was just not right. The breakfast was terrible!!!! You have to choose the day before out of a selection of breakfast choices. Once we were supposed to have „waffles with maple syrup and fresh seasonal fruits“, the waffles were out of a package and very dry and the „seasonal fruits“ supposedly going with it were a slice of watermelon. They had no real maple syrup and only instant coffee. The other day we pre ordered a fruit platter and a vegetable salad with rice. In the morning when we sat down for breakfast the fruit salad was not available and the vegetable salad with rice was basically just lettuce. We put up the „please clean up room“-sign when we left for a day trip and no one cleaned the room nor did we get fresh towels. This is just not okay for the price we paid, especially during off-season.

This place is obviously still struggling from the effects of the Covid lockdowns. The staff is the best part of this place. The air conditioner is undersized & has a daylight gap all around it. The room refrigerator is worthless because its electric circuit shuts down when you leave the room. Who wants to come back from a trip & grab a warm drink from the ref? Breakfast buffet is pretty slim. They post signage asking you to conserve water, but they don't even include water saving faucets or shower heads. And then there were the bugs. If I had known that they are offering 'Hourly Rates' I would have avoided this place.

This is supposedly the only 5 star resort in the area which is sad as I think competition might actually inspire them to do better. The place itself is very nice and initial impressions are quite excellent. But the longer we stayed the more we noticed the lack of upkeep in the rooms. The size of the bathroom is big but there is not a single electrical outlet inside so you cannot plug in anything not even the hairdryer. The shower glass door does not close shut and with the very strong water pressure you can be assured of a very wet overflowing floor outside of the shower enclosure. We paid for 2 extra persons in the room which they informed us meant sharing the beds and breakfast inclusive but they don’t automatically provide the extra towels. Even after calling them to request for more towels they still took more than 2 days to give us our extra towels. The water in the pool is quite warm and not refreshing as the heat of the sun kept it quite warm but some of our friends actually liked it that way so it’s more of a personal preference. The drying rack in the balcony is a nice touch as we can dry our swim clothes there. There are also water dispensers in the hallway which is great for refilling the complimentary glass bottles of water provided. Buffet breakfast is included in the room rates but don’t expect anything extraordinary. The Italian restaurant in the resort does not seem to be ready for the tourist influx as food came out ever so slowly and we felt bad for the foreign tourists who don’t complain as much as the locals so we did get our food faster than they did. The resort is expanding so there is construction ongoing which is a positive sign of tourist revival in PP which I’m happy about for them but I wish they would also pay closer attention to the upkeep of the existing rooms.

Puerto Princess had planned a hand nido journey for the day after our flight k.1 We stayed at night and preferred a fersal hotel. I can tell you that there is a very clean and comfortable facility.Rooms are wide and pleasant.From hotel to the city center with tricycle 5 You can reach in a minute. The facility also offers free breakfast.

Very beautiful and very atmospheric hotel, quiet, cozy, I heard this hotel recommended by Lonely Planet. The front desk is really very serious about asking your needs, the waiter will help you take your luggage to the room, they will enter the room with slippers, and then carefully explain to you how to use the facilities, and the time of the hotel, the evening will be Mosquito coils are placed at the door of each room, and the lamp is soft and full of artistic conception. The room is large, the facilities are complete and practical, the electric fan is equipped with air conditioning too cool, the Sprite Coke in the refrigerator is 4 cans, hahaha, the room is very clean, can be barefoot, the bathroom hygiene and decoration standards are very high, I personally ask for the bathroom Very high, this hotel is satisfied, the room is equipped with a small garden, there are tables and chairs in the garden and hammocks, each room has a hammock at the door, very comfortable, the hotel is like in the forest, the pool is not big, because The number of rooms is not much, the main experience is exquisite, the breakfast is mainly American and continental breakfast, although it is not used to eating, but it is really authentic, there are still many people dining at the restaurant in the evening, everyone chats with the sky, the atmosphere is really very Affection~ I have a van delivered to the airport all day. The driver is very caring. I will definitely stay again. The boss has been chatting with me for a long time. The boss is a foreigner. I am here to open this store with my friends. WWinnieIt was a nice enough hotel but front desk staff was a bit of a hit and miss - not so friendly on arrival but was nice on some days. Breakfast was great here although the restaurant was way too cold to comfortably dine - but the staff were very nice. Room was perfect - except for the mosquitoes. Recreational room was good here - with pool table, table tennis, computer, sitting area, TV and working space for business. While we were there, the pool turned green and was not very clean. The other thing that was not mentioned/shown anywhere was the view to the sea, a big patch of dirt from hotel to sea. Pool area could do with some shade. It’s in a good location to go to the town for food etc. Tuk Tuk is cheap. But it does have a funny smell / stagnant water type, prob because it was next to a river of some sort.

GGuest UserPros and cons. The island was great, we loved our stay at the cottage. But the service was not so good. Pros: - The island was great. Major plus points for the house reef and grass bed that attracts fish and sea turtles. There were birds and the monitor lizards on the island! - The view from our sunrise cottage was great. The rooms were clean and the toiletries complete. - Transport to and from the island went smoothly. - Massage was great! Cons: - We arrived at around 1pm (official check in time is 3pm). The staff told us they would call us when our room was ready. Many groups of arrivals were steadily being escorted to their rooms but not us. At 230pm I went back to the reception and was told our rooms had been ready earlier! But NO ONE let us know. At this point, they gave me the key card but no one made a move to escort us to our rooms and I had to ask if they could give us our luggage so we can go the room already before the receptionist accompanied us. - There is no comfortable place to wait or change clothes while waiting for your room. Basically people are sitting on the pool loungers in their pants/shoes from the airplane. - We signed up for the hike, we were told some one would text us to confirm time and meeting place, NO ONE called. - Basically, any time they tell you they'll call you, NO ONE did. I had to call multiple times and actually go the reception to get any response. - The restaurant was not full yet it was very hard to get the attention of any server. The food also took 30-40 minutes to serve. Kudos to the one lady server who served our lunch everyday for 3 days, she was the only one who helped us. - Used plates/utensils were left on the restaurant tables for a long time. We sat down as the neighboring party left and we were already done, their plates were still sitting on the table (being snacked on by the birds). This happened every meal (and we're slow eaters, at least 45 minutes). - Towels and plates/cups by the pool loungers also not cleared for hours. - Breakfast and dinner buffet were just okay. Nothing to write home about.

GGuest UserThe resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around.
The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time.
The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average.
Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.

There was also shampoo and bath gel. The bathrooms were clean. The ac was strong. The breakfast is free. There is free breakfast everyday on the rooftop bar and restaurant. They also serve dinner and the prices are very reasonable (around 200 php per dish and 50 php for beers). The hostel provides airport pickup and drop off at 150 php each way. Tons of solo travelers here. This isn’t a party hostel but you can usually find people to have a few beers with. Lots of people come for the diving and the island tours. WiFi isn’t great, but it’s not great anywhere on this island. I would definitely stay here again.

GGuest UserA real mixed bag here, the location is good and the rooms are large, clean, beds comfortable and the ac works well. The staff are friendly. Those are the positives. The food, breakfast in particular is atrocious for a hotel in this price range the restaurant staff idle about playing on their phones. The rooms were cleaned very late in the day on several occasions. The internet is weak from the rooms.Whilst the front desk staff are friendly they are pretty clueless and on wanting to escalate certain issues I am told that the management are based in Puerto Princessa. With good management and a complete overhaul of the menu and some internet boosters this could be a great hotel.

LLenamakkarenaFloresitas impresses with a quiet location right by the sea. If you want to switch off for a few days and focus on the essentials, this is the right place for you (if there isn't construction going on next door or the generator is running - both of which were completely bearable). In one of the log cabins (without AC) or (in our case) rooms with air conditioning, the most necessary things are available: a comfortable bed and a small bathroom with shower and toilet. Our room was relatively clean, I don't understand why the mirrors in the Philippines never seem to be cleaned. In addition, the water from the tap is rather brownish and is not recommended for washing. Right in front of the room door: white, fine sand that stretches from the sea over the entire complex. Many hammocks and seating areas invite you to linger. The WiFi throughout the property was the best we've had since arriving in the Philippines. The food was also really, really tasty - Gemma goes out of her way to fulfill her guests' wishes. Speaking of guests: here too you have more peace and quiet - we were apparently the only ones in the complex on two out of three nights (over the weekend). But there are a few things you can do: rent a kayak cheaply at the resort and explore the area yourself, go snorkeling, firefly watching from another resort a few 100 meters away, or book a private boat trip through Ursulas Resort (neighboring resort). The hosts also try to help as best they can, but sometimes there was a lack of mutual communication. But in the end, with their help, we were able to be picked up in the van right from our front door.
All in all, we felt the price was a bit too high for the simple conditions and the remote location (outside of all the hustle and bustle of tourism). But we still really liked it and would come back at any time.

Room was clean and all amenities work. Had a swim on my last night and I had the pool all to myself😍
Staff were courteous and helped me with my way around the city. Staff at the dining area where I had breakfast were also nice and helpful.
Location wise, its in front of a mall(where I bought some personal things and had dinner), near a spa(where I had a sauna and massage), and 5-10mins walk from our seminar venue. It was also near the airport, 5-10mins multicab ride. So it was a very convenient place.
All in all, I had a pleasant stay. Thank you.

AAbraham KGreat resort hotel, very chill and relaxing atmosphere. However, this resort has mini potentials if staff pay more attention to their guests butvsone regularlyon their phones, swimming pool is cleaned regularly, and tottub actually warm or hot. Also, we ordered watermelon smootie and smelled like onion. Same happened when tasted morning fresh fruit. I politely told them about that to pay attention as it's an awesome place but can be much better. Lastly, breakfast included is only limited to one item of breakfast menu which is not clearly specified upon booking..clarity is important..thank you! Abraham.. Canada with love fir better service.

GGuest UserThe cottages are lovely and clean located near the beach. You can totally relax away from el nido and still go for dinner at a nice restaurant just by walking along the beach (takes around 20-30 min to walk to vanilla beach and have to consider the tide!). The breakfast was good, but otherwise we wouldn't recommend eating there - we tried the new year's eve dinner which was overpriced and a normal dinner when we got cold meat and seafood in a vegetarian dish! Also the food didn't come at the same time, so you couldn'r really enjoy eating with your partner. We booked through agoda and they didn't answer any of our emails or calls. The day of our arrival we finally got someone who answered the phone and organised a private transfer from puerto princesa ( around 6500 pesos). They also have a free ride by golf cart from mcdonalds/ vanilla beach to the resort. If you want to go to el nido a tricylce from mcdonals costs 150pesos.
