I was only there for 5 nights and arrived in the evening of the first day so the stay should have been easy. I was expecting to pay £3.15 extra for city tax when I got there and they were asking for €15 so I queried. It was for 2 people. There were never 2 people booked but they said trip.com booked in 2 people and they would not let me check in unless I paid tax for 2 people staying. Trip.com confirmed there was only ever me on the booking and are dealing with it now, but I had to pay just under €12 tax for 2 people staying. They then asked for €200 deposit. The hotel does not have a bar, restaurant, room service, cafe or any other service you can charge to the room so I queried. At some point it dropped to €150 but this was never a charge I was prepared for. In the end they didnt charge it but I looked at their website and they have a residential side to their business where this is charged and it seems they were just trying it on. I was there as a hotel guest and not as a tenant. Then there is the 'Daily Housekeeping' which is just a towel change. They provide 2 coffee sachets, no milk or tea, for the first day only. After that, you have to buy coffee from them. Cleaning - the room is advertised with a small kitchenette but the cleaning does not include that, so you have to clean part of the room and if its not to their satisfaction, they will charge you €40. They have essentially removed all plug points in the room apart from those required to plug in their own equipment like TV, wifi, coffee maker, so to plug in laptops or phone chargers, you have to sacrifice one of those things. I had brought a camera and lenses with me as a professional photographer. I did not want anything broken by housekeeping so asked them when I arrived not to clean my room. I collected towels for the duration and toilet paper, and thought I was set. I put a large post-it note on the door, as they dont have DO NOT DISTURB signs available, saying "No Room Service, Thanks" but when i got back one evening, it was clear they had been in the room as there was a new towel over the bath. I also noticed that a sachet of coffee I had brought with me was missing from my case. As I didnt expect anyone to enter my room, I had left all equipment out and cases open so it looks like they got tempted to open a suitcase lid and the coffee flew out and they took it. I wouldnt ordinarily care but it was late, the reception was closed, there was nowhere else to get coffee. Everything looked OK so I came back home, and it was only when i went to get an HDMI > USB adaptor out of my case (I kept 3 in there) I found they were gone. They were the last thing I packed to go, I used them there and put them back in the case, and that is where they are always kept, so they were also stolen. They were pink and bought in North America so I cant replace the exact same thing. Again, it was not high value, but inconvenient. I couldnt work again until I ordered more and waited for them to arrive. The wifi is only available in the room so if you want an Uber, you cant order it from the foyer unless you use your data. All in all, not as described, I wasnt comfortable there. And my stuff got stolen. Yes, low value, but very inconvenient.
