I loved staying here! The room was fabulous and comfortable - it even had a rocking chair. It may have challenged taller guests but rooms with more headroom are available. The staff were exceptional - helpful, knowlegeable and friendly. They only offer a limited selection for breakfast and no other meals, but there are plenty of good options nearby. The location is perfect and don't be put off by the approach, the staff will help bring your luggage from the road and all is good when you get through the outer door to the coutyard. It really feels like an authentic taste of living in a traditional Nepalese home.

The location is very convenient, a ten-minute walk is one of the largest shopping malls in the area. Attractions are also very close. First of all, the service is superb. As soon as you arrive at the hotel, someone will help you take your luggage upstairs, as well as welcome juice and fruits. There are two restaurants in the hotel, and the restaurant upstairs has a view of the landscape, which is very beautiful. The hotel room is very comfortable and clean and very new, the bath water in the bathroom is very hot. The best thing is that the breakfast is an a la carte breakfast. There are many types. There is an entire menu with a wide variety of drinks, from coffee to freshly squeezed juices, to freshly made chocolates, muffins and cakes. Both American breakfast and local breakfast are available. What's better is that this hotel is very new, very good compared to other Nepal hotels. Shaligram was the perfect base to explored Nepal! I would definitely stay again as the location of the hotel is in Patan which is away from the noise and business of places such as Thamel yet is still close to landmarks and cultural sites. We could get to any desired place in Kathmandu within 30 minutes and in our opinion the Patan area was better kept in terms of infrastructure and pollution. The staff were very attentive and the rooms and amenities speak for themselves. They have beautiful 360 views of the city and hills/ mountains and the gym and heated spa/ pool area were great!

The rooms are clean and nice. It has also smart controls with the lights, curtains and tv. Very interesting to stay in Kathmandu. The staff are very accommodating and cordial. It is also near main downtown and very close to store souvenirs. They have a nice restaurant overlooking the city and if you are lucky to have clear sky, the himalayan ranges are very clear.

You come in in an oasis beauty from the busy in the city. The small family hotel, run by father and son invited immediately. It is fully furnished by the family in a friendly way with design from the nearby. The bedroom is in white, wooden and grey inks a breath. Beautiful bathroom with rain shower, the soft smell of wit smoke. Good breakfast with good fruit salad. The restaurant on the floor makes fresh hamburgers and delicious sandwiches. This quaint hotel is located barely a block away from Patan's Durbar Square. I stayed there for 3 nights while I was in Kathmandu for work. The rooms are atmospheric and full of ambiance, which is what I sought. There was a selection of Nepali or Contentinental breakfast included in my rate; I went with Nepali the whole time and really enjoyed it. The owner was incredibly kind and gave me my choice from several of the rooms. He was also very responsive via WhatsApp to any question I had regarding the city, making it easy for me to navigate. The hotel is also connected to rooftop restaurant overlooking the square, and being a guest at the hotel entitled me to a discount on my food, which I took advantage of my first night. Lovely entrée to the visit! While I immensely enjoyed my stay and would happily go back, a few items to note for other travelers: 1. I had excellent internet in my room, but the room was not ”designed” for business travelers - no desk; I did work from my bed. This was not a problem for me and most business travelers would stay at a different kind of hotel. Plus, a feature of being in this area is that there are a lot of fun cafés around, so why would you spend much time working from your room (during the day)? 2. The bathroom shower had hot water, but the shower ran for a long time before the water became hot. I mention this again just to help people manage expectations. 3. My particular room was on the first floor, so there was some street noise. There was only one night when I noticed it, however, and it did not last very long. There were other rooms more removed from the street, so this could have been avoided if it was something I was concerned about. 4. My particular room had a lower ceiling. I'm 5'5 and it was ok for me (and part of the overall charm). Taller people might not enjoy - but there were other rooms available with higher ceilings (so if you're tall, it might be something to mention when you make the booking). All in all, I had a wonderful stay and got exactly what I wanted! I would happily stay there again and hope I have the opportunity to do so!
