Although the room I live in has a better view, there are no glasses in the room, only paper cups. This is not very used to me. There is a Starbucks inside the hotel, but not 24 hours.

I stayed here for a weekend trip in Philly. Valet parking cost $65, which is a good price for the area. The rooms were clean and modern. The location is close to all the tourist attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if I’m in the area.
Response from Property: AnaS16, we’re delighted you loved your experience at Aloft Philadelphia Downtown. It's wonderful to hear you found our location convenient and our team members friendly. Glad you enjoyed the modern rooms and found our valet parking reasonably priced. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to the area.

When we arrived after a long day travelling; the place seemed a little down at heal Quite a stark entrance if you enter at ground level The reception is very laid back and has no air of sophistication We too were woken from deep sleep on the first night and and to walk down 15 floors snd back up in the wrong time zone We had a lovely corner room with big windows and we had a magnificent sunrise every morning from a high floor It was right next to the convention center which was very convenient Gradually the place grew on us; I could see the place was actually pretty cool it was a shame they couldn't inject the atmosphere to go with the decor It was a great base to explore the centre of the city Slept well and quiet at night

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the level of service I received during my recent stay at your hotel, from October 25th to October 30th. I chose Aloft based on its reputation for quality and cleanliness, but unfortunately, my experience fell far below expectations. I noticed that the toilet paper holder in my room was broken, causing the toilet paper to frequently fall onto the floor—a significant hygiene issue that diminished my comfort. The pillowcases on my bedding were incorrect, leaving the pillows partially exposed. This went unresolved for three days, despite my eventually having to request the change myself. It was disappointing to see a lack of attention to this basic detail. In addition, I found the overall cleanliness of the room subpar, with only minimal housekeeping performed. My fellow guests and I even went as far as pre-bagging our trash to facilitate easier collection, which often went overlooked. The HVAC system in my room was problematic. It was turned off throughout the weekend due to the excessive noise it generated, which made it impossible to sleep while it was on. This left me with no choice but to endure uncomfortably warm nights. The floor did not appear vacuumed after each cleaning, and basic amenities were neglected. The complimentary water was not replaced, forcing me to purchase my own. Additionally, the soap dispenser in the shower was empty, and the body lotion on the sink counter was left discarded and empty. Lastly, on the final night of my stay, I was informed that there were no bath towels available, only hand towels. I understand that supply issues can occasionally occur, but a hotel of Aloft's standard should anticipate these needs and prevent such inconvenience. To address my initial complaints, I was offered a complimentary drink at the bar, which I found to be an inadequate response considering the nature of my concerns. I believe that maintaining a clean and comfortable environment should be paramount in hospitality. I hope this feedback helps to improve future guest experiences. However, based on this experience, I am unlikely to return to Aloft. I do not recommend at all.

Great location, but unfortunately had a terrible experience and would not recommend this hotel with so many other great options in Philadelphia. On the first night, I was woken up in the middle of the night with a blaring fire alarm, and had to rush outside. I was allowed to return to our rooms 1/2 hour later with no explanation about what happened. Later, I had to check out a day early, and was told that was ok. However, again without any explanation, I was charged for an extra day. My responses to the hotel front desk and management were dismissed. Moreover the rooms are a bit tired and there are better values in town. I think hotel guests deserve much much better.

Excellent location, fabulous views from our room. Comfortable rooms with blackout blinds, which are a good idea. Bedding is a tad frustrating, all flat sheets which are on the small side and come untucked easily. It would have been nicer to have proper mugs/cups rather than paper cups and glass glasses rather than plastic. But these are small niggles. Really enjoyed our stay

Everything went pretty well until our last night and morning at this property. I didn't understand the reviews discussing poor customer service until then. My husband and I stayed here for a total of five nights. On Monday 9/23, our last night, we decided we were interested in staying one extra night, from 9/24 until 9/25. We attempted to reserve that extra night at the front desk. The person working there was as helpful as she could be. She said there were rooms available but she didn't have the capability to extend our stay or reserve an extra night. She said we would need to reserve online as they apparently don't handle bookings at the front desk. Even though the front desk person said that rooms were available, when I entered 9/24-9/25 online, the hotel was showing as sold out. However, when I entered a minimum of a three night stay (9/24-9/27), the system showed that rooms were available. The front desk person advised us to call Aloft reservations. It took 10 minutes just to get a live person. I called twice and spoke to two different people, both incredibly unhelpful. The front desk person then advised us to talk to the manager once she was there in the morning and suggested she might be able to help us. My husband went downstairs the next morning around 9 AM to ask the manager for help, who was even more dismissive and unhelpful than the customer service agents that we'd spoken to on the phone the night before. My husband pointed out to her that we wanted to stay an extra night but the system would only let us book a minimum of three nights. She basically said that we could book the three nights if we wanted but otherwise refused to help us book the one extra night. A couple hours later, out of curiosity, my husband checked their online system about 30 minutes before check-out and suddenly, there were several rooms available to book from 9/24-9/25. By then, we were do disgusted with our experience that we just went home. So, not only did the manager and "customer service" leave a really bad impression on two people who had just spent money on five nights at this hotel, they also lost out on a potential sale of one extra night. As much as we liked the hotel and everyone else we encountered onsite aside from the rude manager, this experience was unacceptable, considering how much money we had spent to stay here for almost one week. We will not be staying here again. If you value good customer service and want to feel as if your money has been well spent, I wouldn't advise that you do either.

On checking in. Front of house was awful, staff training required, gave very little information when asked and had a don’t give a damn attitude. We requested a kettle, no kettles! 3 other hotels on this trip provided a kettle. The room was good but for some reason they gave us an accessible room, the housekeeping was not up to standard and on checkout I couldn’t be bothered to argue as the receptionist again wasn’t interested. No, how was your stay or have a nice day. Good bar though.
Response from Property: paulandlinda04, thank you for sharing your feedback. Guest satisfaction is important, and it's concerning that certain interactions did not meet expectations. The mention of team members at check-in and check-out will be addressed to improve service quality. It's positive to hear you enjoyed the bar and found the room to your liking, though the availability of certain amenities and housekeeping standards can be areas of reflection. Your comments are appreciated and will help in enhancing guest experiences.

I would not stay here again — was welcomed with an email days before I arrived so I requested an early room after traveling so long and would need a shower. When I arrived at 8:30 there were no rooms and I was promised to be the first one on the list to be called. At 2 PM I still wasn’t called. I was told the hotel wifi was down and they couldn’t swipe a credit card so no one could check in! The lobby was filled with travelers. This is unacceptable when you are on business and need to look professional—you’d think aloft could find a work around. Beyond that, the desk people were nonchalant and never concerned. I worked overnight on a big project and requested a late check out. I was told to call back in the morning (set my alarm for 90 Min) called, and was approved for an extra hour on a Wednesday am. But then housekeeping knocked , telling me I needed to check out because they didn’t know I was given a late check out. This is unacceptable. I’ve enjoyed aloft before and never had this bad an experience.
Response from Property: Carolyn, the situation described certainly does not seem ideal, especially when traveling for business. It appears there was a breakdown in communication and operations. The team is always striving to uphold high standards of service and appreciates your feedback. Aloft properties are generally held in high regard, and it is unusual for guests to have such experiences. Your comments will be reviewed internally to understand what happened during your stay.

One of my worst Marriott experiences. Rude staff. Broken elevators. If you want ice for your room you have to go the bar to get it (on 1st floor). Water temp only hot or tepid. No cold. None of the things that make a hotel stay nice available. Location is good but there are lots of other options.
Response from Property: monkey12015, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It's concerning to hear that certain aspects of your stay were not as expected. The feedback shared is valued and will be discussed with the team. The central location is indeed a notable feature, and we hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future.

As a visitor from the UK, I was suitably impressed with the high standard of accommdation and service. The conveniently situated Altoft allows you to walk to Philadelphia's many attractions. There is little, if anything to fault and much to praise. Rooms are big, comfortable and fully equipped. Additional facilities are beyond the expected and well maintained. The staff are considerate, courteous and efficient. The steps up to reception could be a chalenge for some guests, I guess the staff will provide any necessary assistance. But you do have to pay US prices! None the less I thoroughly enjoyed the stay, thanks.
