On June 11th Ms. Lue contacted me asking if I could help her out of a bind she was being “Locked Out” of her room at the Hampton Inn Plantation Fl. Considering her a friend I agreed to come over and see what I could do. She had been staying there while looking for a rental. The hotel manager MJ wrote down on a stick note how much was due and gave it to the desk clerk on duty $463.17. Ms. Lue said she would repay me the following Tuesday. I asked the desk clerk if my card would be held on file at which she replied No. I reconfirmed that this would be a 1 time charge with her and she said yes at which time I handed her my debit card. I did not sign anything with the hotel, I did ask for a receipt and the desk clerk said receipts are only given when a guest checks out. On Jue 25th I received a bank alert that my card had been charged $246.34 which I had not used my card for some time. July 1, I logged into my bank account to find additional charges from Hampton Inn. The original charge agreed upon of $463.17 showed as $512.33 along with a charge on June 19th in the amount $115.78 and again on June 25th for $246.34. July 1, I went to the Hampton Inn, Plantation FL, to speak with a manager and was told he would be back at 4pm, at 4pm I was told he would be in the next day at 7am. Tuesday at 7am I spoke with the manager MJ who confirmed he wrote the amount on the sticky note of 463.17. When I explained to him that I was charged a total of 874.45 and would like the hotel to credit me back 411.28 and I would deal with Ms. Lue regarding the original 463.17. I was told they couldn’t do that and that it appeared Ms. Lue had extended her stay after I left the hotel June 11. The next day I went back to the hotel and was told in order to get a receipt I would have to give them the last 4 digits of the card they charged. I had to go aback to the hotel again once I had that information. MJ finally agreed to give me a copy of Ms. Lue folio.
