Hotel Antares

Disappointing to say the least :( we was looking forward to this visit, and straight of the bat was let down, the place is so run down and old, definitely need a refurb tried not to let this ruin our stay as we had seen photos and other reviews so was aware just not to this extent. anyway! we was in the main hotel on level 1, map given was very confusing at first, told us the times of food eating hours and where they would be, tell me why every day it took us a 15 minute journey to get from our hotel to the dining hall? we had to go to a completely different building at the top of the mountain for every single meal by the out door life which took forever and was so hot it was unpleasant. there was occasionally food in the same building we was staying but it was manager’s option if it was open or not so you are running around to see if the one closer to you is open to realise it isn’t and have to go the other, (it was open once in 7 days for us). we ate out most days despite paying all inclusive as the food was horrendous most days, the drinks were terrible and you had to do it your self, no service at all but! we got speaking to this family and they said when they arrived the first few days there was service and there was bar men making drinks !! so why did this change? we have no idea but none of the drinks was the “real” brands they said they were, coca cola etc. again pool situation same again 15 minute journey, yes there is 2 pools on each divide of hotel but the side we was on the pool was tiny and full of kids and right next to the kids club so was just full of kids not being watched by there parents. strange one , had to pay 5 euros per day, per person, to use the pools???? this on really confused me !! in all honesty there’s probably much worse i can say but at this point im bored and gutted that this hotel was so rubbish
Hotel Caparena

I’ve got to say we were delightfully surprised by this hotel. We booked this place as it was nearby to where we booked our wedding. Travelling with my now husband and our nearly 2 year old. From the minute of walking through the doors we saw how truly nice and special this place was. We just booked a standard room, we were located on the ground floor and the room was a lot bigger than we expected. It was nice and peaceful even being so close to reception in room 112. It was clean, comfortable, well air conditioned. Was just what we needed. We had breakfast included in our price which was continental but had scrambled eggs, bacon, range of cheeses and meats including ricotta. Cereals, pasties and cakes all of the above was of a great standard. You could eat inside or out. The staff in the dining room are even better, gianluca, Gianfrano the waiters and the manager fabrizio. And a lovely lady with short dark hair was amazing with our son, They really made us feel welcome and special, they couldn’t do enough for us. So professional and friendly. We also spent an evening in the restaurant which the food was fantastic. Again great service here too! The beautiful garden and surroundings of the hotel are so picturesque. Nice big pool area including a kids pool. We also spent some time down by the beach bar which was relaxing and I have to mention how lovely the ladies down at the reception area of the beach/shop. Giulia and Maria, so lovely, friendly and helpful. The lobby bar was brilliant Adriano made us feel right at home, so friendly, welcoming and looked after our son if we needed milk warming up, no matter what time of day. The shuttle service from this hotel is fantastic, you pre book your shuttle up and down from Taormina. It’s free too! We loved Salvatore! He made us smile, he was lovely, helpful and genuine. We miss him already!! I have to say, the staff here are a real main reason we would want to come stay again. We live in Sheffield in England but my new husband is originally from Catania, we normally would stay with family but after this trip I know we will be back. Don’t waste any more money staying anywhere else, this hotel offers everything you want and need. Thank you for having us Hotel Caparena! See you again one day I’m sure! Thank you for making our trip for our wedding so special, for the lovely congratulations. You went above and beyond our expectations.
Capo Peloro Resort

Taormina Palace Hotel
4.1/554 Reviews
Comfortable and good, the key is that we drive by ourselves, next to the public parking lot, 8 euros a day, after parking the car, you can walk everywhere, the sun is shining and the scenery is picturesque, the hotel public area is also facing the sea, the price is very high, it is recommended. My friend said that staying at this hotel is the most memorable.
Relais 147

Taormina City Center
Our experience at Relais 147 was excellent. We were running late on our arrival due to a flat tire on our rental car. We kept our host updated as to our progress; he waited for us until we arrived at nearly 23:00! We had to leave early on our last day; our host had breakfast waiting for us before our departure! Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is located on the main pedestrian road through town. Though a bit noisy with the windows open, the closed windows blocked most noise. The B&B has a lovely garden in which to relax and while away the hours. There was a variety of food available at breakfast. My only critique that there should be lamps to turn on in the common room for late night reading.
UNAHOTELS Naxos Beach Sicilia
4/542 Reviews
Hotel Giardini Naxos Beach The all-inclusive package here is more limited than we’re used to, for example, cocktails are not included. Snacks are hardly offered in the afternoons and evenings, which is standard in other all-inclusive hotels we’ve visited, and there’s nothing available to buy. Room We stayed in premium room 260, and everything was fine. The air conditioning worked well, and the bed was very spacious and comfortable—the best hotel bed we’ve ever had. However, the faucets throughout the building are worn out and look unattractive, including in our room. Restaurant Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were okay, with enough variety. The dessert buffet was extensive, but the overall quality of the food was mediocre, major downside was that most vegetables were served cold every day, which wasn’t enjoyable. Keeping the food warm seems to be too much effort here. There was little variation in the menu, and no themed dinners. If you have a dairy allergy, unfortunately, this hotel doesn’t offer many options. At breakfast, there are Schär products, but during dinner, there’s no suitable dessert. Sometimes ice cream is available, but there’s no dairy-free sorbet. What really bothered us was the restaurant chairs. They are made of solid wood and become uncomfortable after a short time, making it feel like they want you to leave quickly. Entertainment The animation team was fun and spontaneous, but the evening music was always performed by the same band or artist, which became predictable after a few days. On Tuesday evenings, there was no music at all, as the performers had their day off. We enjoyed the fitness area, which was well-equipped—something you don’t often see. We used it often, although some equipment could use a fresh coat of paint. Surroundings The hotel is located right by the beach, and everything is well-maintained. There’s also a beautiful park where you can enjoy a drink. Unfortunately, many of the benches at the Olympus Bar outside are uncomfortable as they are too deep. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the stunning town of Taormina, which takes 20 minutes and costs €5 per person. Renting a car for a week costs around €350 and is recommended if you want to explore more of the island. Final Verdict Overall, we had a nice vacation, mainly due to the beautiful surroundings. However, we found the hotel overpriced for what you get in return. The all-inclusive package is a stripped-down version of what is standard elsewhere. The food was mediocre, especially having to eat cold vegetables every day. We heard many complaints from other guests. Unfortunately, there were hardly any accommodations for my dairy allergy. Our final rating is a 7. Sicily is definitely worth visiting, but we wouldn’t choose this hotel again.
