Hotels Near Parque "Ecologico" Villas Morelos II in Puerto Morelos

Disappointing, in a nutshell. We'll never go back. *Disclaimer: I am a food professional and I expect food to be served properly* Several restaurants, but they're open/closed at different times so the variety you're being sold on isn't always available and it's confusing at first to know where you can find a meal aside from the buffet and cafe. We had a very difficult time getting reservations at any of the dinner places they have on site. Platinum level guests didn't seem to struggle as much with reservations. We ate at Kobo once, it was good, but they reused the chopstick holders without washing them between guests at dinner sittings. (Eew). The cafe had really good lattes and offered multiple types of milk as well as cold sandwiches all day. I got really bad food poisoning on night 3 having never left the property. No one at the front desk offered help to my husband when he came down asking for it. We found out later from a friend back home that there is a medical clinic on-site. Dr. Ana had to come to our room and provide IV fluids and antibiotics. She was awesome. Our Insurance was needed for payment. The hotel never checked on us to see if we were ok or if I was any better. I was sick for the remaining 4 days, we missed our pre-paid excursions. Our room was skipped for housekeeping twice and our mini fridge was only refilled twice the entire week. Otherwise, housekeeping did a good job when they were there. The pools and spas were beautiful, but filthy. There was a scuz ring around the edge of the big pool and when someone pointed out to staff one day that something in the water *may* have been vomit, noone came back to clean it. The spa in the adult pool was disgusting. The food was well below average. It was the same food every day, just served slightly differently. LOTS of carbs. Nothing was seasoned properly or it was drowning in sauces. The pizza was undercooked and the dough still raw below the sauce. Fresh fruit every day was good. Breakfast at the ”French” restaurant (not really French at all, even at dinner) was decent but the line for fresh eggs or omelettes was really long. Room service was the *worst* I've ever had. The American burger wasn't 100% beef... Not really sure what it was. The chicken ciabatta had the tiniest flat chicken cutlet I've seen served to an adult or child. The Bolognese had zero seasoning and the pasta was undercooked. Puerto Morelos is a tiny town, but offered a little shopping. The people there were lovely. Unfortunately, it's $100 round trip for a taxi to either of the larger shopping cities, Playa del Carmen or Cancun. So the location isn't very good if that's what you're after. There weren't enough umbrella covered lounge chairs at the pools so sunburn becomes an even larger issue. Try the Ha, we were more successful with quiet and shade at their pool. The hotel, the best but to pricy, so gritty expecting 6000 pesos for a less than 50 dollars game. Also not making up to the agreement, between Trip and Nickelodeon together. Last time I use both

Unfortunately for us our booking coincided with the hurricane so we arrived a day late but that is the fault of Mother Nature! We visited when the resort first opened and were blown away with the place so we had no hesitation in booking again for my 50th birthday trip. The rooms are definitely worn down a little now and the room albeit functional in every aspect had a very stale smell upon arrival. This did get better because we basically had the air con on ALL the time! The fridge had soft drinks and beer but nothing for me, no wine. Coffee was available in the room which was a plus. The restaurants were very good, our favourite the Italia Castitas was our favourite closely followed by Kampai and Haab. Jade wasn’t particularly good and our steak at Santa Fe was extremely fatty. Breakfast buffet was great and food at the Palms on the terrace was very good. Lunch time buffet wasn’t very good - twice my husband was served an exceptionally rare burger without asking for it that way and I had salmon that was seriously undercooked and could not eat. Considering this is a family resort I found this shocking. The bars….. Sling bar was just horrendous. The first time we went in there I asked for a bar menu and was told they don’t have a drinks list. I asked for a Bellini and he shook his head and said he didn’t know what that was - amazing seeing as they have a bar called Bellinis! I had to tell him what it has in it! We went another couple of times for a drink before our evening meal and there was no bar staff to be seen anywhere, we left after 10 minutes. Bellinis bar was fabulous but again no drinks list, the only bar in the resort we found one was the pool bar where the service was fantastic. The swing bar was lovely. We had a fabulous trip for my birthday but despite my husband telling a number of people, no extra effort went into my celebration, by the way of our room or at the restaurant. Just a small ****** but it would have been nice to have been made feel special as we have previously at other resorts. We spent our time mainly on the beach but when I say beach it’s very very small, if the beach is your thing then this resort is not for you. The staff keep on top of the seaweed but the concrete blocks are an eyesore. The eldorado resorts have even less beach it’s more or less straight from concrete to sea. That said I did enjoy my morning walk along the coast. We had an amazing week but I doubt we will return if I’m honest. Louis was our favourite staff member he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

Every time I look back on my holi, I think of the hotel and how much I enjoyed staying here, & that I’m so glad we did as at first we weren’t sure as it’s not adults only. I remember the lovely scent when you walk in, cleanliness 10/10, interior is goals, my favourite was lunch time as there’s different food trucks from tacos, burger & chips, ceviche… Some days in the lobby they’ll also put out selection of biscuits/sweet treats to have with a hot drink. The breakfast buffet also amazing!!! I miss having their freshly cooked omelettes & the hashbrowns. They even have an ice cream bar. Quite honestly just enjoyed myself eating. We stumbled across a show once in the hotel as were waiting for a dinner table, took us by surprise as it was so good the entertainers.

From first glance the place looks nice and the rooms had very large incredibly comfortable bed, this is where the positive feedback ends unfortunately. Let me begin with the towels. After coming out of the shower I opened up what appeared to be a clean folded towel and low a behold a large brown skid mark or blood stain the size of an average sized forearm was on it. I complained at reception and asked for a new towel but nobody apologised or offered to take away the old towel from our room which seemed a bit odd. Secondly I was over charged on a taxi ride to town and discovered this after paying the driver cash and noticing the driver enter the hotel to hand over commission to the receptionist after they both thought I left in the lift to my room. After I got into the lift I immediately forgot to ask the receptionist for a plate and fork and witnessed this very popular “tourist taxi hustle” which I’ve had enough of duration my stay in Mexico. Secondly the hotel food was on the same par as economy class on board food 15 years ago. The rooms don’t have robes or slippers either and the floors are made of wood so the comfort level lacks a little bit for the price. The flies and mosquitoes were throughout the entire hotel and this began to be very annoying especially when trying to relax in any location throughout the hotel. The cleanliness of the place is below average and this is the finally key point for us. Luckily we only stayed for 2 nights due to Kiwi.com not paying Swiss International and we missed our flights. I high recommend not staying here especially if you’re a couple wanting a relaxing escape. It fitted the purpose for 2 nights only! I highly recommend anyone to go stay in Cozumel and hire an AirBnB. We stayed for 5 months and it’s worth every min. We still love Mexico.

Wow! This is a perfect getaway from the city life. In the middle of the Jungle with luxurious commodities. We stayed in Balam Bubble. 🛁Waking up in the atmosphere of the bubble is truly spectacular. 🥰 The food experience for breakfast, lunch and dinner is perfect. Ximena and Esther gave us excellent service at the restaurant and made some delicious drinks 🍸. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. Don’t forget to jump into the cenote and pool. Having lived in the Riviera Maya for 13 years, I must say, this experience went beyond expectations!! 100% recommended.
