The Ibis - Wilpattu

Wonderful setting on the edge of the national park. Genuine feel of being house guests with fabulous hosts (the owners) and their staff. Excellent food served under the stars, a plunge pool and activities to complement the spacious rooms. True home from home to relax and enjoy the experience.

We stayed up in the treehouse and it was amazing. It's a quirky little space with full en-suite up in the tree! We were there during dry season so the lake was very low, and unfortunately our itinerary only had one nights stay here, but even in that time we saw the care and attention of the owners and staff, they even packed us a lunch to take on safari! If you're visiting Wilpattu then a stay here is a must!

A return to the Ibis Lodge. It was exactly five years since our previous visit, this Tim we decided to stay for three nights rather than the two nights of previous visit. Hospitality was wonderful with fresh home cooking in an amazing setting. Staff are really nice and nothing is too much trouble it is like a home from home in a magnificent setting. We cannot recommend Ibis Lodge too highly. If you want to sample something completely different then Ibis is for you. We will return.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Ibis Lodge and had a fantastic time. Our room was clean, comfortable and, as it was our honeymoon, it had been decorated beautifully. A lovely personal touch that meant a lot. The food was delicious and the owner and her staff took the time to explain the different Sri Lankan foods to us and even gave us a string hopper demonstration which was great to learn how to do for when we try to cook it ourselves in the future. The staff were very friendly and polite and made our stay very pleasant. The tree house also looked amazing to stay in. We were able to do a couple fo safaris in the nearby Wilpattu national park too. We enjoyed such a lovely, tranquil time there. We highly recommend staying at the Ibis Lodge and we hope to go again when we return to Sri Lanka in the future. Thank you for everything!

We had an amazing stay with Shervonne. She welcomed us as if we members of her family. The food was delicious and home cooked. We enjoyed going for a swim in a local river. We all enjoyed learning about the animals and plants. The rooms were spacious and had lovely shower gels and shampoos. Our stay at the ibis was one of the major highlights of our two week trip to Sri Lanka. We are already planning our next trip and stay at this lovely lodge.

We stayed here one night and wished it could have been longer. The rooms are well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Gorgeous, scenic location with amazing views. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious, served to your table in front of the lake, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Overall one of our favourite stays while in Sri Lanka.

Such a tranquil and unique place to stay. Shervonne and her team were amazing - we loved eating our meals under the trees by the lake and it meant so much to learn about how each meal had been prepared. This was the perfect base for us, whilst visiting Wilpattu - next time we'll make sure we request the tree house!

The place was awesome. The views from the room were incredible. Enjoyed the tranquility of the place, the service was awesome and the food was even more awesome and really enjoyed by us all. We had a fabulous stay on this beautiful property. From the moment we arrived we were made welcome by the owners. They are lovely people who have a great team who work around making your stay as pleasant as they can. The food was incredible and traditional, which every meal was explained how it was made. A peaceful place to relax and be part of the real Sri Lanka. We loved it.
