Qinhuangdao Shanhaiguan District Hotels

It was such an unique experience to stay in a hotel inside the ancient city wall, it felt like travelled back to China in the olden days. As it was off-peak season when we visited 山海关，we were upgraded to a family room, which mean there is a separate bedroom with a single bed, on top of a master room with a double bed. As it was rather cold and we were tired from all the walking, we decided to make life easy by eating at the restaurant within the hotel. We didn't expect much though. But..., we were much much more than surprise the dishes were Ace standard, be it in presentation or taste! A big big thumb up! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all, we really enjoyed the service extended to us! It is no doubt hotel staff in China places their guests at top priority, making them feel at home at all times. P.S the teapot was not filled with tea but a yummilicious 松茸汤。

Excellent hotel, I would highly recommend anybody visiting Shanhaiguan to stay here. The building is beautiful and includes a mini museum exhibition of calligraphy and lovely gardens. The room was clean, comfortable and provided 6 bottles of complementary water. The staff were friendly and helpful, even letting me check out at 2pm since I had a 3pm train to Dalian. Location wise the hotel is situated right next to the first gate under Heaven tourist area. You can get a good view of the gate even from the hotel courtyard, also walkable to restaurants and the drum tower just a couple hundred meters away. Lastly it’s just a short taxi ride from the rail station (1.6km/5min/8rmb) and laolongtou Great Wall section (7km/15min/15rmb).

View from the window is disgusting, a lot of garbage on the streets out there, box houses, feels like a ghetto. Working table and some surfaces were full of dust. At the same time the staff is very polite. There were some problems at checin with passports verification, and room key become disabled at some point. So staff helped with these. Breakfast was ok, not strong varied, but tasty and hearthy. At night main entrance is closed, you'll need to use sideway entrance (follow near 24/7 label)

It's super close to Shanhaiguan, right across the street, and the hygiene is pretty good. But the night we stayed was probably the night of the second day of the ***** New Year. It was really super hot. We turned off the air conditioner and turned on the fresh air system, but it was still not safe and effective. We couldn't sleep well all night. I saw that the door to the room opposite was also open in the morning, so it was probably too hot. Isn't it easy to adjust the heating?

Summer is to experience the campground, and I am attracted by the scenery as soon as I enter the door. Surrounded by the sea, it is very distinctive. I heard from the young lady that it just opened, and I want to live quickly. The courtyard tent is well-equipped, the bath towels and bathrobes are very clean, air-conditioned, and it will not be stuffy in the tent. Although it is a public toilet, it is clean and tidy; there are also off-road vehicles, trampolines, swings, footballs, etc. Children come to play and feel naturally very comfortable. The room has a terrace, a little beer came at night, Ba Shi is very good, the whole place is super beautiful ～ The service is intimate, the front desk lady is very nice, will help solve all problems. Looking forward to seeing you next time ～

The check in was very lengthy, but everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious and have everything you need inside. The quality of the shampoo..... are very nice. Unfortunately my mum got sick during our stay and we had to book an extra room and added a few nights and they were very accommodating. The location of the hotel is great and a short walk away from the restaurants, shops and beach.

amazing sea view room, we enjoyed so much staying on the balcony in the evening. Very good service, everybody was very smiling and our daughter enjoyed so much the stay. We definitely will come back!

When traveling to Qinhuangdao, I chose the Courtyard by Marriott. Let me share my personal experience. As a five-star hotel in Qinhuangdao, no one was responsible for picking up luggage and driving the door. The front desk had an indifferent attitude throughout the entire process and the service was not enthusiastic. During the stay, the hotel did not proactively provide guests with services that a hotel should have such as turndown service. The person responsible for answering the hotel service phone also had a bad attitude. When the guest mentioned the need for turndown service, he mentioned the hotel's turndown service. A service that can only be enjoyed by Marriott Platinum Cards (after staying in so many Marriott hotels, this is the first time I learned that this hotel’s turndown service is only provided for Platinum Cards. I had never heard of it before. In addition to administrative treatment, the hotel Treated differently than others) and the tone of answering the phone is unfriendly, which makes the guests uncomfortable. The room showed on the Ctrip order that it was equipped with a purifier. The purifier that was delivered for the first time was very dirty. I didn’t know whether it was purifying or contaminating... The water pressure in the room fluctuated, and the toilet in the room was covered by an electric curtain, but it was not covered seamlessly. It would be a bit awkward if two people on a business trip lived together. The public lawn of the hotel. After sitting on the lawn for a while, a fat security guard came and said that entry was not allowed here, not even for hotel guests. Wedding venue, okay, I can understand if someone is setting up the venue or wedding scene that day, but why is there nothing on the lawn that day? As the only comfortable outdoor venue in the hotel, can't guests even sit down? ? Since they are not allowed to enter the hotel, why should the lawn be used as a publicity? And can there be a sign at the door not allowing entry? ! Unable to understand! In addition, the hotel has opened a cute pet park, but after looking at it, I found that two rabbits were lame... There was no water or food in the bowl. I hope the hotel will pay attention to the health of the small animals when opening the park... The day after communicating with Ctrip, the hotel's guest relations manager called and learned what had happened. He replaced the purifier and provided corresponding room service and turndown. The next day, there was also a dedicated driver downstairs at the front desk. Door and luggage (I don’t know if I will not be there on the day of check-in) Overall, the experience was not very good, but fortunately there was someone to deal with it. I would like to give a thumbs up to the hotel guest relations manager and the guy wearing glasses and a suit at the front desk! I hope the hotel’s staff management can be strengthened...

Highly recommend! The most convenient location in Qinhuangdao, you can walk to the beach, shopping mall, restaurants, university and have easy access to nearby Beidaihe, Nandaihe or even Anaya. Check-in was simple, the staff were friendly and attentive. The room was large, clean with a beautiful view of the sea. Breakfast is also available at the hotel. Thank you for a wonderful weekend getaway - a worthwhile trip even when it’s cold!

The hotel is in a great location, close to a convenient bus stop and just a 10 minute drive to the seaside . The staff were very accommodating although most of them knew very little English. The breakfast staff were great and the breakfast selection offered a lot of vegetarian options, which you don’t find in many hotels. The room was a great size, just there aren’t any scenic views. The cleaning of the bedrooms could be a lot better as the room I had was very dust and the floor was not cleaned everyday.
