It was such an unique experience to stay in a hotel inside the ancient city wall, it felt like travelled back to China in the olden days. As it was off-peak season when we visited 山海关，we were upgraded to a family room, which mean there is a separate bedroom with a single bed, on top of a master room with a double bed. As it was rather cold and we were tired from all the walking, we decided to make life easy by eating at the restaurant within the hotel. We didn't expect much though. But..., we were much much more than surprise the dishes were Ace standard, be it in presentation or taste! A big big thumb up! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all, we really enjoyed the service extended to us! It is no doubt hotel staff in China places their guests at top priority, making them feel at home at all times. P.S the teapot was not filled with tea but a yummilicious 松茸汤。

Excellent hotel, I would highly recommend anybody visiting Shanhaiguan to stay here. The building is beautiful and includes a mini museum exhibition of calligraphy and lovely gardens. The room was clean, comfortable and provided 6 bottles of complementary water. The staff were friendly and helpful, even letting me check out at 2pm since I had a 3pm train to Dalian. Location wise the hotel is situated right next to the first gate under Heaven tourist area. You can get a good view of the gate even from the hotel courtyard, also walkable to restaurants and the drum tower just a couple hundred meters away. Lastly it’s just a short taxi ride from the rail station (1.6km/5min/8rmb) and laolongtou Great Wall section (7km/15min/15rmb).

View from the window is disgusting, a lot of garbage on the streets out there, box houses, feels like a ghetto. Working table and some surfaces were full of dust. At the same time the staff is very polite. There were some problems at checin with passports verification, and room key become disabled at some point. So staff helped with these. Breakfast was ok, not strong varied, but tasty and hearthy. At night main entrance is closed, you'll need to use sideway entrance (follow near 24/7 label)

Bring your family to play for a few days, the surrounding environment is very good, the air is great, the landlord is enthusiastic, and any problems will be solved quickly and solved in time. Come next

The hotel is very close to the beach, especially suitable for bringing children, and has its own exclusive beach, which is finer than other places, except for some small shells. The swings are suitable for very young children. In fact, I basically play on the beach. There is no need to book a parent-child room. I personally feel that it is more appropriate to book a suite at this price. I like to live in a large room comfortably. food: Breakfast starts at half past six, and there are not too many people before eight. The breakfast is not rich but the taste is good, and the dishes are served in a timely manner. You can choose from nearby restaurants for lunch and dinner. Three fisherman steamed seafood are recommended. They are expensive but delicious. There are also many seafood restaurants nearby. You can read the reviews and choose. The seafood dumplings that have been eaten for three days in a row are quite enjoyable. play: There are many internet celebrity check-in facilities on Kaisa’s beach, and children also play a lot. 山海同灣公寓 看海景位置很好，在陽台上就能看日出，環境、服務衛生也很到位，房間有電磁爐可以自己蒸海鮮，附近的遊玩景點也不錯，九門口長城，長壽山值得一去，帶孩子不想遠走可以去小區裏的小馬小童樂園，也是蠻大的，各個年齡段的小朋友都能玩。

The location was great, but there is now private beach as stated. The room did not have a balcony it was built closed with windows, could only see the sea view when you stand at the window and it was obstructed by newly built apartments. I booked the Family Twin room, which states 2 Queen beds and located on 34F. The room was on 16th floor and I had 1 queen bed and 1 sofa opened up to a bed. The windows were not clean, still had fingers and had marks from previous renters, the kettle was broken so the boiling water spilled and burned me. The pots provided were dirty from previous use, the basin tap in the bathroom was too close to the basin so I had to use a cup to rinse my mouth, and the shower head points at the door that does not seal properly, so after a shower the room is flooded with water. Overall, unpleasant, only stayed 2 nights of the 4 nights I paid and booked and now I can’t get a refund 😢 位置很好，但现在有一个私人海滩。这个房间没有阳台，是用窗户封闭的，只有站在窗户前才能看到海景，而且被新建的公寓挡住了。我订了双床家庭房，有两张床，位于34楼。房间在16层，我有一张双人床和一张沙发。窗户不干净，还有以前房客留下的手指和痕迹，水壶坏了，烧开的水洒了出来，烫伤了我。脏从先前的使用提供的盆,浴室里的盆龙头太靠近盆地所以我不得不使用一个杯子清洗我的嘴,和淋浴头点在门口,没有很好地密封,所以在淋浴房间充斥着水。总的来说，不愉快，我付了4晚的房费，只住了2晚，现在我不能得到退款😢
