Hotels Near Voulas place ! in Rhodes

We stayed in the Sheraton Rhodes in the first week of July (2 adults 2 kids), last minute booking through Voyage Prive (booked Wednesday, flew Saturday). I found all the reviews here helpful in deciding to choose this hotel; here are our own experiences. Overall very happy with the hotel, facilities and service. Hotel rooms - we had guessed the hotel was built in the 70s/80s as the rooms and building itself are quite bland (actually built in 1993). We had Deluxe Sea View interconnecting rooms on 10th floor which suited us perfectly. View is fantastic - you can watch the sun set over the Turkish mountains on the far side. It was €4200 for the week for 2 Deluxe sea view rooms with ‘full board plus’. The minibar only had water and the waters were not replenished at all during the week. This seems almost a regular thing now with even top end hotels and in any case water bottles are 60 cent in the 1st floor minimarket. The king size beds are very nice. The hotel itself is not 5-star equivalent by European major city standards but nor are you paying anywhere near European 5-star prices for your stay. We found the hotel good value for the money. The public interior areas are clean and well-thought out. The lobby and the atrium around Knights bar is lovely. They have a baby grand piano open to anybody to play which is a really nice touch and adds a lot of character to the place. You’ll find kids and grown ups alike playing. There’s a nice mix of many different nationalities with the guests. Pools: 3 outdoor pools, with plenty of sun-loungers and parasols to go around throughout the day. The pool on 6th floor is very quiet and amazingly only ever had 3 or 4 people in it, with loads of space around it; the restrooms and showers here are even marble-tiled. Restaurants: the Castellano restaurant for breakfast and dinner buffet is very good and the staff there are excellent. There is a good mix of fruit / salads / hot food / cereals / breads. We never had to wait more than 2 minutes for a table outside. Non-dairy milks are still clearly not a thing for most people as sometimes these had bits in them, stick to soy milk rather than oat / almond! Themed nights meant sushi, Mediterranean options etc. as well as the usual main buffet selections. Full board +: we had 3 meals plus drinks included for the week which was okay value (about €900 for full board and €200 for drinks). Sheraton could organise this better. You get a paper card with your meal plan written on it which you must show staff every time you sit down for a meal, until they get to know you. Why they don’t just record your meal plan with your room number in the system I don’t know. With so many staff involved in serving drinks / issuing the bills etc, mistakes can happen the odd time. The extra for ‘drinks’ is about the price you would pay anyway, because as we found out on the first day, only one drink (juice, beer or house wine) is included per person. We usually have a lot more than one

We have stayed at several Greek and Caribbean All Inclusives over the years (including Ikos and Excellence ) and rate Mayia overall as the best so far! The amenities, lovely staff, super cleanliness and variety of food options all contribute to an excellent experience. We arrived very late evening(21.45) check in with friendly Panos was quick and we were very impressed to be able to have a la carte late dinner at the Italian Restaurant. Our room was a swim up deluxe in Block 2 (room 2013) with a great view of the pools and sea beyond. Would recommend this block. Everything in the room was efficient, worked and well designed for comfort. Housekeeping (Donna) was excellent - good quality bed linen and towels etc. Air con and shower efficient. Reception staff were always very friendly and helpful, especially Giannis, Kristina and Tatiana and the porter Blendi. We enjoyed most of the entertainment as there was a good variety to appeal to all ages and tastes. Anastasia and Kiki at the beach bar were particularly good as well as the amphitheater shows. It was a treat to have no sun lounger hassle as there were plenty for everyone! Also plenty of parasols if you need shade. Al the pool drinks waiter works so hard , he never seems to stop! The beach across the road is a little disappointing as very pebbly and difficult access to water. You definitely need water shoes. However water is beautifully clear and hotel has done the best it can to make it as pleasant as possible there , with plenty of loungers, the bar and toilets. The buffet Restaurant was good but sometimes food not hot enough and could be repetitive eg fish nearly always sea bream! Green vegetables often limited. The carved meat choice varied in quality. Desserts amazing! Breakfast fruits could be more varied as always the same choice. The freshly squeezed orange juice and smoothies were wonderful. We managed to book all the a la carte restaurants and enjoyed them all, in particular the Asian which was top class and the Italian with the theatrical waiter Valerius! The ice cream place was a great addition with delicious high quality ice creams and made a good alternative to the slightly limited desserts of the a la carte restaurants. The Comfort Restaurant (Buffet) was also useful as so convenient right by pools and casual enough to go in your swimwear. We liked the fact that all day time restaurants were in the open air (main Buffet also inside) but plenty of shady areas. However, this could be a problem if there was a rainy spell! As could access to these restaurants…. The Sunday violinist at breakfast was brilliant! I sampled the aqua aerobics, yoga and Pilates classes and the well equipped gym - all very good. For the various exercise classes you need to check the board by the gym as the reception hand out doesn’t include everything. The jewel in the crown was the champagne bar with a choice of 4 champagnes on the all inclusive, served by the very attentive Francesc

So me and my brother flew in from England and stayed the week here, I booked before I looked at reviews then when I saw them i obviously panicked and thought it was gonna be a sh*T show, thankfully it was way better than expected. Firstly the location is great, 10 min walk from old town and the bus station where it costs €5 to go to lindos etc, sea a minute away, plenty of shops and restaurants around. The staff are very friendly and no extra fees were pushed on us, the room was clean, sure a bit of peeled paint was on the walls (not shocked due to humidity of Rhodes) but it was clean and nice. The room was cleaned 4 times in our 7 night stay and we enjoyed our visit, will definitely be staying again. I think some people pay for 2* and expect 5* lmao. For a 2* hotel it was way better than expected.

Very nice hotel close to the center of Rhodes Town and the beach. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Spacious clean rooms with a balcony. Daily change of towels. Great, helpful and always smiling staff at the reception. I would highly recommend it

The hotel is well-located, just about 5 minutes from the beach (northeast side of the island). The rooms are a bit outdated and the bathroom is small, but they are adequate for a vacation. The housekeeping staff does an excellent job, cleaning the room daily as if it were the first time we were entering. The reception staff is friendly, though we had issues with our room key card, which failed to work 5 times over 8 days. The main issue was with the woman who checks room numbers at breakfast; she was very unkind and did not allow us to take two sandwiches from breakfast, despite us needing food for a day at remote beaches where we couldn't buy any. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
