Never used a travel lodge before, but wanted a cheaper option for a one night stay on our way to Edinburgh to visit our daughter. Wasn't expecting a ' welcome' from Reception, but man on duty friendly and assured us that if we needed or wanted any help there would be somebody on hand. Room itself very nondescript as you may expect, but extremely clean decor and carpets too. Room very spacious. Bed made up was very fresh and clean, towels white and fluffy. Extremely quiet round back as away from noisy road. Had a very good nights sleep. Tea, coffee, kettle provided. An absolute bonus for us was FREE and plentiful parking without the need to download a bloody app as we saw we would need to do at nearby Holiday Inn, you just register no. plate with a friendly human being!! Well done Travel lodge! Would definitely use again without hesitation.

We chose this hotel for an overnight stop when visiting the area. Good location and good facilities. There was was ample parking on the Saturday that we stayed, but you have to make sure you register your car at reception. This is free and there’s plenty of reminders. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. We tried the restaurant which had an Italian menu, the food was very nice. The room was a reasonable size and quiet overnight. The one negative point would be the tv system was very basic, most hotels have access to online streaming services and our room just had a basic tv access. We weren’t able to try the gym as it didn’t open until 8:00 on a Sunday.

Always driven past this hotel en route to Scotland thinking how lovely it would be to stay there. Well how wrong could we were. Arrived at 6 pm on a Saturday evening as expected by hotel arrival time arranged. We had booked the last room which was a classic twin room no 21. No one at reception, waited about 5 to 20 minutes then had to go and ask someone who was putting glasses away in the bar . She came and booked us in and was a very pleasant lady . Got to our room and thought of this seems quite nice. Bathroom dated, sink had slight damage mark with a sticky yellow stain which I started to clean showed it could have been cleaned quite easily . The pull cord to switch light on didn't even have a handle on it was just the cord. Duvets so thin it might as well been a sheet and pillows not much better. Mattress to be fair, not too bad. We had booked a table for evening meal so popped to the bar and found 3 couples waiting to be served and we waited again for about 20 mins only to be told by the same lady that had booked us in that the bar lad was on his break. No she did come back to serve us all and the lad came back too so drinks were served. Food very disappointed to pay £17.95 for so called beer battered fish and chips with the smallest pot of mushy peas and tartare sauce. The whole meal was awful and when asked if ok I decided not to to say yes and explained how bad it was and most of the fish was left as it was tasteless soggy batter and quite cold chips and peas. Once again the same nice lady said oh dear and just took plates away. I also said if I hadn't paid cash up front I would have refused to pay. No response so we left chuckling away to ourselves and just couldn't believe how bad things were. Now we realise it's an old building and when you arrive it is lovely on the outside. Unfortunately for us the last room in the hotel was substandard and for £124 we paid we felt robbed . Even when we left there was someone at reception but no acknowledgement of our stay or goodbye was uttered. Needless to say we won't be returning.Im sure that won't bother the owners but hey ho you live and learn. We did laugh as it reminded us of Acorn Antiques and Fawlty Towers. No offence intended towards the staff as they all seemed to be doing multiple jobs and when you got their attention they were mostly pleasant. Must try harder comes to mind Positive note Parking ok.

Stayed for a few nights with my husband and dog. We received an email a few days before giving us a more suitable postcode for the hotel and it worked a treat. Great location - easy to get to A1(M) and A66. It's half an hour away from the beach at Redcar. We stayed during the heatwave and we absolutely baked, as you do in every other Travelodge. There was a fan but it just wafted hot air at us. We had two plastic key cards but one of them never worked, even after it had been reprogrammed. There's a Morrisons and a brick train sculpture within walking distance. Toby Carvery next door is very handy.

GGuest UserOur first stay in Richmond and whilst the King's Head had it's faults we liked it and would return. The hotel could not be better located on the market place in the centre of Richmond, and building itself is a splendid mix of traditional with a more contemporary bar and restaurant area. Our room was a standard double which was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Any failings could be put down to the historic nature of the building, and therefore forgiven. Service for breakfast was on the tardy side of relaxed, but when it arrived the food was very nice, this was also the case for dinner but here one of our main courses left a little to be be desired on the taste front.
