Rose Garden Palace Roma by Omnia Hotels

Via Veneto Rome|0.68km from Borghese Gallery and Museum
We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Rose Palace. The front desk gave us tired travelers a warm welcome that made us relax immediately. Our room overlooked the back of the American Embassy with guards stationed outside 24/7 so it was definitely safe. The hotel is a little off the beaten path from the usual touristy spots in Rome but in a very quiet area. The room was very clean. We had 3 in our room and the 3rd person had to sleep on a full size pull out couch. It was comfy for a pull out (you couldn’t feel the bar under the mattress) but unless you put up the bed every day the only place to sit were the beds. It had a small fridge and the bathroom was updated but limited on counter space around the sink. The buffet breakfast was geared toward a variety of tastes. Scrambled eggs, a variety of pastries, orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, meat, etc. When the weather was nice we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden. There is a tiny grocery store called Co-op around the corner where you can buy the basics. Also on the next block is an ATM in the alcove of the bank entrance that seemed secure to use. Reading older reviews we thought there was a restaurant in the hotel serving dinner but it turned out to just be a small bar. So we walked a couple of blocks north and ate at Cesarina and enjoyed a good meal and friendly staff. There were a lot of other restaurants to pick from in a 2-3 block radius. The ones on Via Vittorio Veneto appeared to be more expensive than the ones northeast of the hotel. There is a taxi stand a couple of blocks away and we used both Uber and inTaxi for rides back to the hotel.

Firstly, if you read most other reviews they all sound very similar. The host (Giorgio) is amazing, rooms are great and overall everything is just fantastic about this place. This is simple to explain, it’s because it’s the truth. It was our first visit to Rome and Giorgio provided a list of recommendations, including the locations on a map. This was perfect, as we managed to visit 5 of the places that he recommended, all of which were simply amazing. Without these recommendations I’m confident our experience of Rome wouldn’t have been as good. The room was spacious and modern, with everything you could need. I loved the look of it and especially the lights (not something I would normally comment on). Breakfast was great too. Giorgio provided everything you needed in a continental breakfast, great coffee and fresh local pastries that were sensational. But more importantly it was a pleasure speaking to him every morning about our trip and anything else we or he wanted to discuss. I could go on about lots of things, such as the amazing old fashioned elevator or the location being brilliant, with it being close enough to walk to places, but far enough away from the crowds. But rather than going on any further, my final point would be that I normally stay in hotels and wouldn’t consider staying in a small location, like this, but with the personal service offered by Giorgio this has changed my perspective on this. Will I return to Rome? Yes. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Thank you for an amazing stay.

NH Collection Roma Vittorio Veneto

Via Veneto Rome|0.48km from Borghese Gallery and Museum
We stayed 3 nights at the NH Collection Roma Vittoria Veneto hotel and had a good time, yes hotel is probably slightly further away from the attractions but still very well located, as reference 0.8 miles to Fontana de Trevi or 0.5 miles to Spanish steps. we walked most times and used metro only 2-3 times and few times uber to go back to the hotel or to go to the train station. The neighborhood around the hotel is really nice and safe with dining options, the villa Borghese park is just next to the hotel. Our room was big to accommodate our party of 3 and were surprised by the hotel room as we had lower expectation based on previous reviews, we chose this hotel based on quality/price as our budget was $450 USD/night and this hotel fit the bill but we did our reservations just 10 weeks before, noticed that same room a month before was over $750 due that we wanted to re-look for options but honestly hotel rooms in Rome are higher than other cities and you won't get 3.5 - 4 star hotels below $600USD during this time of year. so I think we got a fair price. Our stay didn't include breakfast and was buffet style and cost was $22 Euros special price during the check inn process or $30 after, (that was the only think didn't like that lady at front desk was too pushy on this) but we decided not to eat breakfast at the hotel and found some good cafes 10 mins away south towards the main attractions. Hotel has a fitness center that we used a couple of times, overall it was a good choice and NH hotel does a good job, Noticed that this chain has several hotels in city center, so, were not disappointed by NH Roma Vittorio

The breakfast is good. It has been the third time I stayed at this hotel in Rome. Breakfasts at hotels in Rome are almost the same. I like the style of this hotel. The swimming pool is large and the room has a good atmosphere.

The hotel is very new and the decoration is very good. The check-in will send two bottles of pure water and bubble water, and each of the Coke Fanta Sprites will meet the needs of the Chinese. Also send two soft drinks from the upstairs restaurant. The location of the hotel is on the edge of a large green area of the hill, but there is no bus to the hotel entrance, and the bus time in Rome feels unreliable. It takes more than ten minutes to walk to the subway (Spain Square), and you can walk 20 minutes to Termini Railway Station. However, because the roads in Rome are all small stone bricks, it is very inconvenient to drag the boxes. Therefore, traffic is not particularly convenient. The size of the hotel is not very large, so the type of breakfast is slightly less than the nh opposite the big hotel. The hotel staff is very welcoming, and the English is quite standard, and the communication is smoother than Venice. There is also a room on the 0th floor. When I go there, the tenant is complaining that the music at the door has been put, it is too noisy...
Albani Hotel Roma

When we arrived at the hotel the outside temperature was 26 degrees and our room, which was south facing, was very warm. I couldn’t get the air con to work so I popped downstairs to speak with the receptionist. She curtly stated that the manager had decided to switch the air con off. He was due in the following morning and she would ask him to switch it back on. In the meantime we were moved to another room that still had no air con but, hadn’t been facing the sun all day - still too warm but we had no choice. That evening I asked if we could have a drink in the hotel bar. We located ourselves on one of the settees and waited for the barman to appear. He didn’t. We subsequently discovered that he had actually been in the bar all along - it was just that he was permanently on FaceTime and his PC and we had assumed that he was a guest of the hotel. Not once did he look up from his devices to take breath let alone serve hotel guests. On the second morning I saw the hotel manager at reception and asked him when he was going to turn the air con on as it was set to be 26 degrees again that day. He said that he wasn’t going to. When I then said that we had purposely booked a hotel with air con he just shrugged. I asked him if he intended to update the hotel’s website to confirm that air con was not available and he simply said no. On the final morning my wife slipped in the shower and cut her head. I asked reception for the first aid box and took it to my room as, luckily, my daughter is a junior doctor. All of the medical supplies in the first aid box were out of date - some in fact dating back to 2008. Upon returning the box to reception my daughter suggested that they review and renew its contents. Overall a really disappointing experience. Rome is a fantastic city unfortunately, Albani Roma is far from being a fantastic hotel…
