Best Hotels near Piazza Capranica, Rome

The hotel is located very near to the Termini Station with easy access to most locations in Rome. The rooms have a bit of old-style charm and are spacious and comfortable, especially when travelling with multiple family members. The buffet breakfast at the top floor offers a wide variety of good-quality items, and is truly a highlight at this hotel. The service staff is friendly and attentive, and will rush to your aid when experiencing any difficulties. The cleaning staff helped us when we were having issues with the key, and the desk staff helped us change to a different room without any questions asked. Truly very friendly.

This is a very good and very special hotel, good location, good service, good management, breakfast is very good, but the air-conditioning system is very very poor, if you are not afraid of hot people, you can enjoy it here, But if you are afraid of heat, then it is best not to come to this hotel in the summer.

The hotel was great- it's located 10 mins from termini central station (so easy to get there from the airport and no need to walk alot with your luggage), and from piazza della repubblica (so close to another metro station). The location was great because it's walking distance to everthing you want to see (I only took the metro to the vatican- you could also walk there, which I did on the way back when I had more time). There are also good restaurants, gelaterias and shops in the area (as it's located next to via nazionale and the opera house) and they are usually less expensive and crowded than those near famous sites (so I ate there almost every evening). I had a single room which was clean and had everything I needed (comfy bed, safe, hot water, wifi, etc.). The staff was really nice and helpful (they are there 24/7, and you can leave your luggage with them if you need), and the breakfast was good. I would definitely stay there again next time I visit! I knew this was an older hotel, which I didn't mind...it added to it's charm. The room was very basic, but clean. There is no elevator so we carried our luggage up 4 flights of winding stairs. The location is centrally located which is what we wanted because it was our first trip and we wanted to be close to all the ”highlights” of Rome. I'm giving Hotel Teatro Pace an ”average” rating instead of ”poor” because of the positives (the sound of the church bells of the nearby basilica, the coffee shop around the corner where we got our cappuccino and cornetti for only 4 Euro for 2 people in the mornings, and the nightlife that magically appeared right outside the hotel door at night). What I wasn't happy with was our bill. We stayed for 4 nights this October. Our bill was nearly $800 Euro, that did not include breakfast. It was just my husband and I. I was told it was because of city taxes, but that still seemed high to me for the kind of room we stayed in...like I said, it was basic, no frills, just a double bed and bathroom. We stayed in similar rooms throughout Italy and it was half that price. We also stayed in beautiful rooms and even a winery in Florence...the nightly rate for those were just over 200 Euros...I expected to pay that for the luxury quality of the rooms. So I just felt like Teatro Pace ripped us off and overcharged.

Deserves to be a five-star hotel, the service is amazing, and the bedding is very comfortable. Excellent location right on top of the Spanish steps. Because I booked six nights, I got a free room with a small balcony. As soon as I entered the room, I was pleasantly surprised. There were welcome fruits and a welcome card with my name printed on it (still bilingual in Chinese and English). The cleaning service is professional and clean. Free water and chocolate every day and a bottle of red wine. There is a Mixing restaurant on the sixth floor of the hotel. Unfortunately, I did not go to taste this time. Before I left, I went to the restaurant on the first floor of his house. Angus steak was superb and delicious. In short, such a hotel is worth going to Rome again.

Really convenient location with only 3-min distance to Roma Termini giving you quick and easy transfer to the airport and elsewhere in Italy by train. Rooms have been renovated too. However, front desk staff was really rude. When I dropped my room keys in the transparent plastic box placed on the front desk for an express check-out and turned around leaving the hotel, staff shouted at me asking me to wait in line. The staff said I haven’t cleared my payment and tried to charge me full room rate plus city tax even though I have prepaid the room rate to Agoda in full. True that I haven’t paid city tax but they have swiped my credit card upon check-in or they could have asked me to pay upon check-in either. I suggested the hotel should have hided their express check out box if there is no such option available. The staff bluntly replied it is for guests who have cleared all the payment. It is really ironic who can enjoy express check out, if the hotel doesn’t charge city tax upfront nor charge it to credit card. Meanwhile, the room cleaning is so-so and forgot to refill shampoo/shower gel/fresh tower quite a few times during our stay. Also, the windows isn’t good at isolating street noise. We found this hotel after researching areas and so grateful we did. From the moment we first emailed the hotel staff for information regarding access for my mother who was hiring a wheelchair, they were just incredible. Every single member of staff in this hotel was so friendly, welcoming and spoke multiple languages to all guests. The hotel organised fantastic transfers for us with wonderful drivers, who basically did a running commentary tour of Rome on each journey. We organised a wheelchair to be delivered to the hotel and they stored it for us each day, but let us come and go like we were family to access it. We cannot reommend the brilliant staff highly enough and we forgot to ask all their names - the two main gentlemen on reception in the day were incredible with their customer service skills. Marco on reception was super friendly too and Beatrice our cleaner with language skills that could be great on reception was fab too. The breakfasts were brilliant, varied selection and the staff were only too happy to help you make it a perfect experience. The view from the breakfast terrace will stay with me for life, beautiful way to start the day with a sunrise breakfast overlooking the Altar of the kingdom, the Pantheon and the Vatican / St Peter's Basilica. We were encouraged to go up the terrace at any time so we often had a picnic lunch up there, late afternoon prosecco watching the sun go down, bliss. There is a fantastic Carrefour shop just a 3 minute walk from the hotel (up towards the Tiber river / bridge, but turn right at junction before and walk along the street for 2 mins). We picked up 2 salads and water for 7 euros, together with a bottle of prosecco... great simple lunch with a view. Our room was 214 and was fairly dark (without the lights on) as it was in the inner courtyard area (rooms 506 - 508 are the best balcony / street facing rooms) but it was quite lovely for sleeping as it was peaceful and restful. The bedding is quite old fashioned and we wished we had just had sheets rather than the blanket in between (but we just removed these for our stay) and it was lovely. The pillows were ok but again could do with being softer but overall for the dream location, the exceptional staff we would stay there again in a heartbeat as we thoroughly loved it. We brought the wrong charging adapter and the hotel staff were so brilliant and lent us one for the duration of our stay. In our room we had a fridge that was well stocked but we never needed that. There was also tea and coffee / kettle but again we didn't get round to using them. The staff in the hotel were constantly asking us if they could help with anything, suggested restaurants for us that were local (the restaurant adjacent to the hotel was outstanding Piazza Fiammetta) and just across the street down a small street there is another exceptional restaurant called Gusto - the also do pasta making classes. The location is good, not too far from the subway, it is not convenient to drag luggage, the road is uneven, the feeling of bumpy drift is not good, if the time exceeds the normal business hours, the elevator at the subway entrance will be closed.

I'm sure that each of us has his own scale of factors to evaluate whether a place is beautiful or ugly but that the added value is the people. In this clean, nice and very comfortable hotel, near the Roma Termini station, it is precisely the people who make a small hotel a point of reference for our trips to Rome. Paola from the reception was, and is, the person who followed us during the booking process and who went out of her way to help us project our photographs on a wall, in a small room set up just for us, a small group of photographers arrived in town for a two day photography course. We booked accommodation for 2 days, we arrived at 03:00 for our night, they received us The air conditioner in the room was not working properly but we were very tired and went to sleep anyway The next morning we asked you to check the air conditioner but at noon they didn't fix it, we asked to change rooms and they changed us the second room was very good
