Budget Lodge

Have stayed in Ruidoso several times a year . The hotel was sold and under the new owners refurbished. We thought we would try it . The bed was somewhat comfortable.. however the small things that were wrong or neglected made the stay a one time deal . The bathroom needed a lot of attention.. we were tired of fixing the flush mechanism on the commode .The ac would not keep temperature and would shut itself off in the middle of the night. I believe the walls are paper thin.. you can hear everything including the street traffic. Bottom line . If you’re looking for nothing special at a cheaper price it’s an ok place

Comparing to the previous pictures the rooms are renovated for the better, but are still lacking. Most importantly you can renovate as ice as a 5 star hotel, but if it's not clean its still just gross. Our room 126 smelled like cigarettes covered up with aerosol spray. The windows look like a toddler finger-painted with it's saliva. the shower curtain on the inside has brown smears on it, the carpet is covered in stains, and the sink does not have a back splash, therefore on the dry wall is covered stained splashes of other peoples sink escapades, and the walls have random streaks. On the other hand the beds looked clean, the black out curtains are nice, and TV/remote are nice and work well. Apart from cleanliness this hotel is loud. Much of the road noise can be heard. Other guests can be heard - during our stay our adjacent room knocked on our wall several times - Not due to noise as we were trying to sleep. There was a verbal fight/confrontation by two different guest rooms on the balcony above us. Other guests around seemed to love to slam there doors numerous times at all times, and you hear car doors constantly from the parking lot. Th rooms A/C runs very loudly and it was hard to adjust to it and get a good nights sleep. So just remember you get what you pay for. At the time of booking in advance this was cheapest. There rates have just went up where I don't believe its worth it, so with my extended stay of three more nights I'm taking the inconvenience to check out and rechecking into another hotel! I stay in Ruidoso several times a year, If this stayed within its original price range it might be worth the noise, lack of sleep, and uncleanliness. But they have now priced themselves comparable to other hotels with better amenities at similar prices, therefore I will not stay here again.
