The Novotel Salvador Hangar Aeroporto best features are its location near the airport, newer facilities than most properties in Salvador, and it operates under the ACCOR hotel brand. Despite these advantages, I must report a unacceptable experience during my stay December 28th to 31st 2022 followed by deplorable managerial customer service in response to verified and documented service failures. I have reported these issues to my travel agency, my corporate travel unit, and my personal travel networks. As I discovered this property using Trip Advisor, I have decided to report this matter for the benefit of my fellow readers. I do not recommend this property for business travelers nor cultural tourism travelers (especially not those seeking afro-Brazilian tourism or those welcoming to the African diaspora). I share some reasons herein: • Unreliable Service: During my stay I experienced one major internet outage over six business hours, as well as minor room outages (less than 30 minutes) on each day of my stay. This hotel was advertised as catering to business travelers, but the hotel provided no updates when internet would be restored despite repeated requests. I did not receive any support to manage the disruption to my teleworking, and personnel were unable/unwilling to facilitate solutions (At one point, I was recommended to use the free internet of one of the shopping malls. Imagine carrying expensive computer equipment to what my taxi driver warned was a “high crime” area). Sadly, the ability of the reception staff to identify solutions was more unreliable than the internet service. • Poor Room Quality: This hotel advertises rooms of high standards of quality, and I am sure many receive good rooms. However, I received a room that was both substandard quality (bathroom sidings and interior furniture water damaged, door malfunction, refrigerator malfunction) and pollutted by the buildings HVAC exhaust being poorly designed, allowing exhaust to flow against rooms on the lower floor (high noise pollution noticeable when sleeping). I believe most guests do not have this experience, as the issue likely affects few rooms on the lower floors. However, when choosing this property, one must ask the question, how does the receptionist decide who receives these rooms which experience high dust inflow and high noise pollution (I have videos and photos available upon request). Why are some customers placed in quality rooms, and others assigned to substandard rooms (noting the hotel has standard room types based on bed requirements)? Why did this hotel property assume that one of their few afro-descendent customers would accept the worst room in the property? • Deplorable Managerial Level Customer Service: Upon checkout, a customer service representative noted my dissatisfaction with my hotel experience, and asked if I would be willing to receive inquires from hotel management the next business day. This was my second time on business at the Deville. I stayed almost two weeks this time, and had three colleagues from Canada join me, one who brought his wife and 2 yr old daughter. The hotel is very well appointed, good interior design and layout making the public spaces very comfortable and pleasant, and all in all very good value for the money. We found, as Canadians who did not speak Portuguese, that the staff everywhere were super helpful and frankly a lot of fun to be with. Many can help in English, and when not, we all had a lot of fun on our mobile translation apps. While we were all on business, one colleague with his family commented on how family friendly the hotel was. They had a great time. Everyone said they would come back at any time, which is what we plan to do a number of times this year.

The Fasano is located next to the Pelourinho, the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This means you can walk to the main sights easily. Old building, nicely renovated, now in modern style. Rooms tend to be on the small side, but are nice and have all you need. Nice rooftop pool with small bar, great views. Breakfast is very good, good choice and good quality. Lunch is ok, but nothing special. Most staff members are very friendly, they try their best to accommodate your needs. Yes there are some hiccups in the service, things got forgotten etc, but as they are very friendly you can live with it. Probably one of the better Fasanos, compared to others, here the staff pay more attention to details and are more client focused. I can recommend this hotel for a nice stay in Salvador, probably the best option in town. I would like to thank Janine, Maria and all other staff members who did their best to make my stay a very nice one.

We come from Germany and this hotel was recommended to me in advance by friends. And it is really great! We also recommend it very much! The quiet location directly on the beautiful beach is paradise! The owner welcomed us very warmly and always took time for a nice chat with us and had helpful travel tips. The service is great, the staff very friendly and the food excellent! The incredibly varied breakfast is prepared with love and offers every day different delicious highlights. The hotel is the perfect place to relax by the pool or sea and really enjoy yourself! We will definitely like to come back!

I liked the accommodations, however there is no telephone / intercom in the room, it is necessary to have a whatsapp contact, provided by them, for everything you need, I found it quite uncomfortable. Towels very shabby (rough), they should be replaced. Good breakfast, but with few seats, you have to wait depending on the time you arrive. Good cleanliness, attentive and helpful maids. There is a fridge in the room, but without any products inside. You can bring it from outside or ask them via whatsapp.

After a not very calm flight trip across the Atlantic, this Hotel made us feel really confortable since the time we arrive. It doesn't take long to reach from the airport and it is just by the beach, so it was a wonderful place to arrive when one comes from a winter tempest in Europe. The pool is marvellous! It has hot water and it is large enough to not feel crowded. The breakfast had everything I could wish for, fruits, many breads, and even more substancial foods. The staff was extremely helpful. I also felt safe and enjoyed being on the beach. Many nice beaches are very close by, as well as the Farol de Itapoã . We really enjoyed our stay.

I have been a guest in this small hotel many times, I think for a 3 star it is of a good standard. The sea view rooms, some with balconies are delightful, thanks to the view. The bathroom is spacious. Its best thing is breakfast and chá da tarde, a gastronomic break offered in the afternoon, with sweet and savory options. The location is one of the best in Salvador, a neighborhood facing the sea but at the back full of restaurants, bars, museums, ancient buildings and many things to see. It's just a pity that the beach in front is not suitable for swimming. In a few minutes by bus or taxi you can reach the praia do flamengo, one of the best in the city.

You're going to get away from this place. You're treating the client with total disrespect and disrespect. I booked for Booking 20 days before the trip. When I arrived at the check-in, the hotel team reported that it had no rooms available, that the rooms were not in a position to receive guests and therefore were blocked, and that Booking was making the rooms available for an error of the hotel. Booking systems and they had no way to change that. They said it was not possible to contact who booked because Booking does not provide any form of contact, which is a lie because I received a confirmation email with a message from the ”Team Oyo” a few days after booking. It was so lie that the next day the No-Show fee was still collected and they sent a message saying I didn't appear after confirming the reservation. the lack of communication between the network managers and the hotel team, and I am thinking of the state of conservation of the rooms to have such treatment. we were not the only, during the time we tried to solve had other 3 guests who arrived and had the I had to look for another hotel at 21:00, after hours of travel and rainfall, with travel costs.

This hotel is simple but it has everything you need. The pool is great and the internet connection by the pool works better than the rooms. It is located near restaurants, bars, groceries stores, and pharmacies. Breakfast could improve. I wish they had more local tropical fruits. However, breakfast is simple but well served. Located just steps from the beach, which is calm and not lots of waves. Good for kids.
