Very unscrupulous administrative staff, allowing guests to check in during renovations and a toxic smell of paint that will give you a headache for three days, the restaurant serves rotten pomegranates, and in general the breakfast is very mediocre. The windows in the room look out onto the roadway, very poor sound insulation, the noise is as if you were sleeping on the street. The room is small for Uzbekistan, but due to the high ceilings there is no feeling of cramping. For Samarkand, one of the most expensive hotels is located in the very center. The rooms are clean, the receptionist is a victim of the mistakes of management and the cook, although the cook may also be a victim of the small budget allocated for breakfast by the same management. Coming to Uzbekistan at the end of April and not seeing fruit on the table is of course a disappointment!!! I had to move out of the hotel because of the disgusting smell and renovations in the restaurant; during breakfast, behind the oilcloth curtain, they were drilling the wall and painting something; I had to look for a place to spend the night at the peak of the high season. But this is a separate adventure, for which I am grateful to the Renaissance Hotel. Prices in the Uzbek mahal start from 10 dollars, for 50 you can rent an excellent room opposite the park near the registan. And enjoy the hospitality and flavor of the local life of ordinary people..
