At the beach, the location is good. Great breakfast and good service.

We had three nights here in preparation for a coastal walk. The hotel has an air of faded grandeur about it, mixed with a whiff of 1970s council offices, but the staff try hard to make the stay memorable. Our room was at the back of the hotel, so rather than a sea view, we had a good view of the neighbourhood cats. It was comfortable enough, however, and clean. Breakfast was very good and set us up well for our days of walking. A sea view would make the stay better, but you could do a lot worse. The location, however, cannot be faulted.

Ground floor room with shower, compact one small wardrobe, no kng size bed which nowadays are pretty well standard, my bedside table collapse, cheap self assembly. The Hotel as steps at entrance and steps inside to bar and dining room. Rather small lift to other floors. Breakfast self service for hot & cold food, down steps to dining room, meals average neither good or bad. We think they are packing too many Coach Tours at one time, causing meal times to be variable and not consistent.

I stayed in a double room on the first floor and the view of the harbour from the bay window was picturesque. The room was comfy and everything worked (TV, heating, WiFi etc). The ensuite was compact (you wouldn't be able to swing ”The Mousehole Cat” in there), albeit was clean and the shower was good. All the staff were pleasant and hospitable. Notably the waitress who served me breakfast on both mornings was super. Breakfast was appetizing and I thoroughly enjoyed my evening meal; it was all very good quality. Also, serving food from late afternoon is a real plus. Thank you to all at the Ship Inn, who made my few days away very enjoyable. Me and my partner Jenna got married here then stayed the night and it was a fantastic day/experience. We had around 60 guests with more coming in the evening and everything went perfectly no thanks to Harriet and the main man Stefan ! Im not sure if these guys work every wedding but you need to ask for them as they were brilliant. Always had a drink in our hands, guiding us from here to there making sure we were on time, and anything we needed we just had to ask and 30 seconds later it was done. They really helped make our day special. The hotel itself was also great, really well looked after grounds against a stunning backdrop of St Ives, and very tidy inside. We have absolutely no complaints at all with the hotel or staff, if we were to get married again, we would pick Tregenna in a heartbeat. Also a special thank you to the security man on the gate, great guy and he drove my disabled mum around in a golf buggy all day and made her feel like the queen.

The room design is very special and the accommodation is very comfortable. The attic room is hot during the day when it is sunny. The hotel does not include breakfast, but there is a restaurant downstairs, which tastes very good. There are some specialty shops near the hotel, which are worth visiting. Most of Penzance's accommodations are on the hillside, not far from the hotel from the train station, but it is tiring to climb the slope with luggage. To all major attractions is to take a car from the railway station. There are several Chinese restaurants on the market steet, which taste pretty good.

1. The hotel is on a small slope on the edge of Penzance City. It takes only 20 minutes to walk to the city center. In fact, it is very convenient for travel. It is also very close to Penzance Railway Station and the port. It takes 15 minutes to drive to see Mount Saint Michel. 2. The hotel provides a lot of snacks, the sea view room has an excellent view and is worth recommending. If you want hot food for breakfast, you need to charge a little extra, and the quality of other meals is also good. 3. If you come by car, you need to call the hotel to book a parking space, about 4.5 pounds a day parking fee. 4. The hotel's cancellation policy is to cancel 14 days in advance. 5. The corridor of the hotel is relatively narrow and there is no elevator, and it may not be convenient to have too much luggage.

Felt the need to post a review after reading some of the previous comments. We stayed here for one night before travelling to the Isles of Scilly. We arrived by train and the location could not be more convenient for both the station and the ferry. The town centre is also easily accessible and coastal walks in either direction are on your doorstep. Our room wasn’t large but was spotlessly clean and had everything you need. Bed was comfy and shower hot. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. It is on a busy main road but we knew this before we booked and actually found it quieter than expected. It certainly didn’t affect our sleep. The pub next door was no problem either. The price was considerably cheaper than the Premier Inn down the road and included an excellent cooked breakfast. Some people must be extremely hard to please! We shall look forward to staying again.
