Rongju Hotel (Shanghai Chenghuang Temple) Reviews

You pay what you get. This was a very last minute booking, so for the price i'd say it is okay. The location is great (near 2 attractions). The lobby is a bit suspicious but the room meets the basic requirement.

The service was amazing. The workers gave us everything we needed that we didn’t even had to buy anything. Also, the location was spectacular. The hotel was right next to the metro station that it was really easy to go around the city and explore new streets and parks. And and it was right above the marketplace, which was really nice. We could buy gifts and souvenirs for our friends without walking long distance. They also gave us an entire kitchen tools (some of which we didn’t have at home lol). To summarize, I absolutely recommend you to stay at rongju hotel. We love it.

Good location, near to metro station n bus station, near to yu Garden

Location is amazing, right at the top of metro and next to.yuyun gardens, also very close to the bund. It looked clean, but lots of dust on fridge and mictowave was burnt. I asked to replace it and they did very fast. There wqs someone's hair in the shower and drain did not work properly. There were random used aocks in the drawer, which killed my impression of cleanness also. It is om the main metro line which is very conveninent. Price was good for location.

From start to end we had a really nice room with good service! Even though we had a language barrier the staff did their absolute best to help us. Our next visit to shanghai will definitely be here again!

The hotel has an infestation of giant roaches, we found them laying dead in the room on 3 days out of 7 days we were there, sometimes in the bathroom and other times in the sleeping space floor. The hotel is not very clean and twice we asked the housekeeping to clean our room and they didn't even care to sweep or mop and items were missing that they should refill as part of room amenties amd they forgot and the shower was not even cleaned and had previous hair on the drain clogging the bathroom as we used shower. I would not recommend to stay here. But the staff was nice at least.

The access to the hotel Is from a side lane, you'll find it from what seems like the backdoor of a store. Get the elevator to the 5th floor to find the reception. The location is extremely convenient, basically just outside Exit 1 of Yuyuan Garden metro station. The place is really quite and welcoming, not noisy at all. We got fresh water and new bath towels every day. Recommended.

Well located 1 minute walk to substation. Walking distance to Chenghuang Temple. Staff helpful.

Perfect location, very close to the old town, the Bund, and a Metro station. Pretty handy that rooms have a laundry machine. Staff spoke no English at all and was very cold. Right in front of our rooms was a giant trash collection pile which apparently attracted insects. We had many mosquitos in our room and a giant cockroach. AC did not work, so it was pretty hot. Drain in the shower was clogged so it constantly overflowed. Rooms was a bit dusty.

Wow! We love the place. Walkable to lots of eateries (small shops n tea houses, local restaurants to michellin restaurant), walkable to nanjing east, yu garden, bund, chenghuan temple, confuscius temple, hop on off bus station). Yuyuan metro is just next door. Room has good comfy bed, nice hot shower after a long day of walking, microwave to heat up snacks, fridge, washing machine and a million dollar view of pearl tower n shanghai tower. There is a friendly man at the service counter who waves to you when he sees you! We get our room cleaned all 7 days and bottled water also topped up every day! The disposal slippers given is comfortable. For the small price i paid to receive such a wonderful experience, WOW! I will stay again when i come back to Shanghai.

Convenient for foreigners travelling within Shanghai city, location is slightly difficult to find in the first place.

The hotel is clean and hygienic, and is very close to the subway entrance. You can see the hotel when you get out of the subway entrance. It is very convenient to go to the Bund and check in and take photos. You can see the Oriental Pearl Tower and the three-piece suit from the window of the hotel elevator. Yuyuan City God Temple can be reached in a few minutes on foot.
