GEM Hotel (Shanghai Bund Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street shop) Reviews

The hotel is on the East Nanjing Road, very close to the metro, the bund, a lot of shopping malls, and restaurants and food stalls. No smoking smell. I got a room with 2 computers. The staff are very helpful. The bed is soft and super comfortable!!! I would stay here again if I came back to Shanghai.

The location is great, the room is big…. Like the view from window…. Convince to go around day time or even evening…. The foods are surrounding…. Can just walk there….

BED BUGS First impressions of the hotel were mixed. It looked like we were in Chicago, but a bit more run down somehow. The floors in the room looked like they had only been swept or swiffered - never scrubbed. The walls along the bathroom area had about 3 inches of wood rot up the walls. The fold out table had a very musty and decomposing smell when unfolded, we they were not usable. The seals around the shower doors were peeling off and water spilled everywhere throughout the bathroom (which was a divided area of the main room). We left early as we woke up with a ton of bug bites.

The room was big, located at the 南京路步行街. Very convenient for travellers. Room is not clean, the floor is sticky and the toilet was smelly.

It's good location which is close to the subway. The room is big enough for family room. It is nice and clean.

First booked hotel is a little out of expectations. We upgraded the hotel and the room is very much better. Kind and helpful service from the staff.

Note: the hotel name is in fact GME Hotel (格美). Location for this place is superb, few minutes walking distance from Nanjing Pedestrain street. But was initially hard to find as the hotel occupies several floors of a building (亚太广场) and the entrance to the lift lobby is not facing the main road. Helpful to have a washing machine (3.5kg) and one sachet of detergent liquid was provided. The flooring and table tops have some scratches but doesn’t quite matter if you are out most of the day. Amenities are pretty basic - shampoo/ conditioner/ shower gel, toothbrush and small toothpaste and a comb.

Next trip to shanghai, my family will stay this hotel again. The location is nanjing walking street. It is very cozy and feels like home.

Stay here for the location, right on the Nanjing East Pedestrian Road. The building is sharing with other tenants, Reception is at level 7 to check in/out. There is a 24/7 security at level 1 building entrance, very safe. The room is clean and acceptable, although it is not the best or the cleanest, but helper did her job to refresh the room daily. Our family room provides detergent daily to wash our clothes.

The hotel is next to Zara on Nanjing road. Very good location

Perfect location. Spacy room. Helpful front desk. Value for money. Many shops and restaurants around this hotel. Really Shanghai heritage concept hotel

The photos on trip.com is not accurate and deceiving. The entrance to the hotel is in a back alley behind Zara. The rooms looks to be not cleaned from 10 years ago with residual of previous hotel guests laying around
