The best choice for visiting Shaoxing from Shanghai is to choose Dayu Guantang. During the period, I went to Lu Xun's hometown once, but I was so scared that I bought some food and came back after 10 minutes. I decided not to go to Cangqiao and the hometown of the Sage of Calligraphy. It was the most comfortable choice to just wander around in the hotel. Actually, I wanted to come here when it opened in 2017, but I just had a dog at that time. I had been to too many water towns around Shanghai and I really didn't have the interest to come to Shaoxing. Until I found that Kaiyuan Guantang was pet-friendly, I came here, and the result was really good. Even after so many years, the rooms in the first phase were not as dark and damp as I imagined. The rooms were very quiet. Kaiyuan's hotel management, whether hardware or software, service staff quality and cultural promotion, is still very good, and it is a solid and safe stay.

The B&B has just opened. All facilities are new, clean and comfortable. The owner and his family take good care of the guests. I felt warm when I stayed there during the Chinese New Year. The auntie cooked delicious food and we ate all the dishes. The owner was very enthusiastic and gave us melon seeds, peanuts and fruits every day. The B&B is located at the entrance of Fu'e Mountain Scenic Area. It is very close to the mountain by car. There is a large terraced field to walk around. This is a pet-friendly B&B.
