This was a solo stay on April 20, 2023. I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member, and as such I enjoy trying different properties across the portfolio when I visit different cities. In Providence, I had not yet stayed at this Homewood Suites, so I decided to give it a try. It was a stopover on the way by train to Boston, so I found it extremely convenient, a few blocks away from the station. I was surprised that this hotel did not offer a Digital Key, because it would have allowed me to bypass the odd arrangement of the entrance on the street level and the front desk on the second level. So I had to stop at the desk to claim my plastic old school card key. The desk staff was professional and described the hotel and features, as well as mentioning breakfast down on the street level. My Diamond status was recognized. My room was the one I had chosen during the online advance check-in the day before arrival. As it was a suite, it was certainly spacious. But.... the HVAC was hard to control, if at all. The outdoor temperature went down to the low 40's, and so I would have liked to have my room warmer than it was. Turning the thermostat higher just displayed the higher temperature but did not make the temperature higher. Unfortunately this was realized when I was ready to go to bed, so I wasn't going to contact anyone to rectify it that late. I found the bathroom to also be spacious, with enough room to put my toiletries on the counter. Because of the room temperature I opted not to take a shower that morning, so I cannot vouch for whether there was any issue with hot water. Breakfast.... I did not expect much. It was buffet style but limited selection. I did have scrambled eggs. I was bothered in the morning before my planned departure from the room and well before check-out time by Housekeeping knocking on my door. I thought that they only come in between guests. I had to yell that I would be out within half an hour. All in all, a great location but the lesson learned is to check the temperature control earlier in your stay if possible.

The bed was very comfortable, and it was $22 to park overnight at the parking lot next to it, and you could get change if you asked for cash. The surrounding environment is very quiet, but there are fewer people on the streets in Providence at night, but police cars patrol more frequently.

GGuest UserMy two grandkids, my wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. I had two suite upgrade certificates left in my Bonvoy account and decided this would be a great time to use them. The chances of getting upgraded is usually about 50-50. I called the hotel a couple of days ahead of our arrival and explained that a suite would be extremely appreciated with our 9 and 11 year-old grandkids. I asked if I could put in a separate request for a suite based on my Lifetime Titanium status. She said no problem and would attach a note to our reservation. The day before our arrival, I got a notification that we had been upgraded with the certificates to a 720 sq. ft. king suite with an incredible view of the capitol. We arrived early and our suite was still occupied, so William took all our information and said he would notify my when the room was ready. We took the kids to the Museum of Natural History and the Planetarium. Upon exiting the planetarium I saw a notification that our room was ready. We checked in and the room was beyond our expectations! The sixth floor suite had an amazing view of the Capitol. We settled in and my grandson could not get internet access for his Nintendo switch. We went to the front desk and Nicola tried to help but couldn’t get it to work. So she gave us a number for IT support. We walked down to Providence Place and had dinner at the food court. When we returned he called the IT guy and he was connected in less than 5 minutes! Thank you Nicola!! We had access to the Club Lounge and picked up some sodas and waters. The next morning we had breakfast in the Club Lounge. The food included fried eggs, sausage, fruit and pastry items, coffee, and juices. The following morning the choice was scrambled eggs and bacon. Robert, the gentleman in charge kept everything stocked and the room clean. The following day we took the kids to Newport to tour the mansions. We got back around 6pm. The rooms were cleaned and looked pristine. The bathroom was huge. It was handicapped accessible. The shower had plenty of pressure and hot water. The room a/c worked great. We departed after breakfast. Hanna quickly checked us out. The room bill was perfect. The valet guys were great. The kids were already talking about when we could return. We can’t wait to return to this historical (former) Masonic hall.
MMin0622Stayed here for two nights to attend my brother’s graduation ceremony. Very conveniently located right across from the mall and Kennedy Plaza, was very easy to get around the town. The hotel has a rich history and the renovation is done really well, would highly recommend for people to stay for an eventful occasion. Staff were nice but too slow and short staffed. Had to wait long for check-in and check-outs, so plan ahead. Would definitely stay here again if we visit providence in the future.
Always use a Marriott hotel. This one was very disappointing. We made our reservation 2 months ago with a request for a top floor and away from the elevator and it would be a late check-in. We arrived at 9pm, only to get 3rd floor and across from the elevator. We were also not told it was a handicap room. Room was clean but disappointed. Only a handheld shower head because of the handicap room but the shower head was falling off the wall. Shampoo bottles not able to read. Pillows too soft. And no tea bags. They only provide coffee, which we don't drink. Front desk told me I had to go to market and buy a tea bag The hotel was under renovation. The exercise room did not have wipes to clean equipment and some of the equipment was not working properly. Upon leaving, poor customer service as they never asked how I stay was. Not sure I would stay here again.
邹邹The beautiful environment of the hotel is a classic in the century-old architecture. In the literary city center, the interior has modern facilities and the service is very warm. The lobby also provides guests with delicious drinks and desserts. The public areas are quiet and elegant, and the surrounding environment has a cultural heritage. The famous mural wall is in the surrounding area, which is a good choice for home travel.
QQIONGThere was hair on the bed, there was a mineral water bottle lost by the previous guest in the trash can, the restaurant did not have dinner, nor did it provide take-out menus from surrounding restaurants, so Starbucks in the lobby settled the dinner
GGuest UserThe east building is noisy at night. The air conditioner in the room is very noisy. The air conditioner vents are facing the bed. You can only sleep with the quilt covered or the air conditioner will blow directly on your head. The room is ok and the sheets are clean.
For the cost per night of this hotel ($450 per night for the 1 King Bed room) I was expecting something nicer and roomier. The room had no closet/dresser to store clothes nor did it have a full length mirror or a safe, which feel like standard things to expect in a room, especially one being marketed as “more boutique/upscale” for this area. The shower situation in the bathroom is quite annoying. It is a narrow, stall style shower, but instead of having a glass door, there is a thin bath curtain that sticks to your body the entire time. Also, since there is no tight seal, water gets absolutely everywhere. The front desk/check-in receptionist was not from the area and was not able to provide any bar/restaurant recommendations when asked. It would make more sense to place people familiar with the area in customer facing roles. Lastly, we checked into our room Saturday afternoon and when we left the next day (late morning) the trash was in the same spot, unattended to. Both discarded items in front of various rooms and large contractor style trash bags that clearly came from Housekeeping/Janitorial staff etc. The smell and visual left little to be desired. Next time I am in Providence I would choose to stay elsewhere.
GGuest UserI have to say that sometimes when I’m traveling to an area I don’t know very well, I won’t stay at a hotel if it’s not a name I know. I expect a certain standard when I stay at a reputable chain such as Hilton. This isn’t an awful hotel, but there’s nothing special about it. Our room needed updating. It smelled like mildew. There was mildew or some sort of stains around the peripheral of most of the bathroom ceiling. There were stains that looked like either lipstick or blood all over the outside of the bathroom door. The parking garage was crowded and filthy. The button that you were supposed to use to let yourself in and out of the parking garage didn’t work so you had to call for assistance every time. like many hotels, they are not servicing the room if you stay multiple nights and that’s fine. But I called and requested towels and they never delivered them. The hotel website implies that there is a restaurant. There is not a restaurant. There is a bar that’s open in the evening, and they may serve food in the evening, but that’s not a restaurant. The television was awful. There was no literature in the room or in the hotel about things to do in Providence. this is not an awful hotel, but it’s not a good one, and it certainly isn’t up to the Hilton name.
GGuest UserWe host our 2 and 3 years old, since check in experience has been great. The hotel is renovated with the wonderful rooms and the incredible service, excellent location My family and I have had the privilege to spend a few amazing days in the hotel, The staff is amazing all super friendly and serviceful always smiling and willing to help you in anything you ask, The hotel has a indoor and outdoors pool during the weekend there was music around the pool and the environment was great ! We had the opportunity to meet one of the executives JC name a spectacular person just someone who makes the difference Thanks to him and all the other staff for making our memorable holidays We will certainly come back !!!
GGuest UserAshley at the front desk was absolutely amazing!!! She was knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great recommendations! We were able to check in early and the room is actually a decent size! The kitchenette Is just that but..a….regular size fridge!!! Big plus in my book. Cons- none that we’ve encountered. We don’t really see any. Everyone we have encountered has been friendly and helpful.
