Upon checking in our stay at Capella Singapore, we were served refreshments. And we were informed there’s complimentary afternoon tea for guests at the Living Room and Pineapple Room. This was one up. I already had a good impression when I was contacted via WhatsApp 2 days before to do an online check in. Throughout the stay, it was a breeze to obtain information, request for amenities, as well as check out of our stay using WA only.
The smallest accommodation room type was the premier garden room and it was at 77sqm! It was more than enough for 2 persons and I really love the space, be it sofa, bed, shower, bath tub, vanity area. The other accommodation types include manors, suites and villas. We had a swim at one of the 3 pools, which looks stacked upon one another. 2 were free form shape and the most private was a lap pool. We had the pool below Fiamma restaurant just to ourselves.
We woke up early the next morning and strolled the hotel compounds, taking in animal sounds and green surround sights. We also walked to the Palawan Beach using the hotel pathway.
Then we had a good breakfast at Fiamma. Breakfast was semi buffet and Ala carte mains style. I recommend the Ala carte mains over the semi buffet items. I had Osen eggs and Kaya toast, laksa, roti prata, all were good, so I’d recommend the local dishes. Thereafter we visited the gym. I’m not into gym but I like the look and the quality of the gym equipment.
I think why Capella is a highly rated hotel is attention to guests. It is the first hotel I see complimentary bottled water with lemongrass scented towel being prepared for the guests automatically while the guests were at the pool.
A towel and headphone were stacked nearly on each gym equipment.

We enjoy our stay at this luxury hotel, it was a really pleasant experience, the room is clean, big and spacious, the bed is very comfortable, full amenities provided, location of the hotel is excellent, makes it feel very private and the design and appearance of the hotel is world class, the swimming pool is also very fun, the food options are amazing and very delicious, the staff are warm and welcoming, truly fantastic hotel to stay at.

Friendly staff all around. Our room was comfortable and big.
Teabags should be 2 of each flavour. I could have asked for more but I didn't.
The afternoon tea was delightful.
We celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary and there were cards, gifts etc.

The environment was okay, but the facilities weren't. I drank the room water and got an upset stomach, then the toilet clogged and took ages to flush. What a pain... The breakfast was awful, absolutely awful. I tried the avocado toast, and it was spicy, sour, salty, and smelled of stinky cheese. I also ordered laksa, and the seafood smelled off – no! It was a real disaster. The food, in particular, was truly catastrophic.

A wonderful one night staycation at this top tier hotel. The service is really good and the receptionist even personally bring us to our hotel room and offered to explain the functions and amenities in the room. Breakfast has nice choices of ordering and self help at buffet areas.

Although the room facilities were just average, the overall atmosphere was very comfortable with trees and a beach. There were beautiful views without being too tiring, and the service maintained an appropriate distance. That's why I chose to spend my birthday here for two consecutive years.
However, this year I had some unpleasant experiences.
This year, they also prepared a birthday cake and welcome desserts. But strangely, on my birthday, the desserts and cake delivered had a lot of ants. The hotel said they would replace them the next day, but the ones delivered the next day still had ants. The hotel explained it was due to the weather, and that leaving them out for too long would attract ants. Regardless of whether that's true or not, I accepted their explanation and agreed to wait in my room for them on the third day at noon. However, they didn't show up at the agreed time, and when I called to inquire, I was told I'd have to wait another 45 minutes. This really dampened my mood and disrupted my plans.
