We booked a "superior privilege" room overlooking the bay for two nights and the view was probably the highlight of our stay. Whilst the room appeared clean some areas were rather dusty (did the housekeeping team find the message written in the dust above the bed?), but the toiletries and hospitality tray were of good quality. We did not, however, have any housekeeping carried out during our stay, despite requesting it, so the tray was not topped up. Where this hotel falls down is the lack of management and staff at breakfast time. We followed the recommended timings and arrived at 7.10pm for breakfast (which supposedly begins at 7am on Saturdays and Sundays) to find that a coach party had been there since 6am and the breakfast "table" was rather sparse, tables had not been cleared and it all looked rather messy. After finishing our breakfasts, a platter of cold meats was brought out, too late for us! The second morning we were informed that the hotel had run out of cold meats completely. Whilst the hot foods, bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes, were of reasonable quality I have since learned that should you wish to have fried eggs and/or hash browns with your hot selection, these must be ordered at the bar area! A notice to this effect would be helpful. There was no choice of breads or rolls, just plain white or brown sliced. It is worth noting that the website breakfast picture bears no resemblance to what is actually on offer. For what is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, we found it was below standard and, unfortunately, we would not return, nor can recommend.
