Hotels Near Bugibba Jetty in St. Paul's Bay

My wife and I have just returned from spending 2 weeks at this hotel . I'm trying to find words that describe what is good about it. I've just realised which words i'm looking for......ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. We have travelled to numerous countries over the past 40-50 years and stayed in many many hotels but our experience at this hotel surpasses them all. The staff at reception, Marine, Maja and their colleagues were always most helpful when asked for information or sorting a small problem. The staff in the dining room, Subina and Nikesh in particular were most friendly and helpful and together with their colleagues helped make dining there a complete pleasure. The food choice was amazing, both the buffet breakfast and the a la carte evening meal. The room (and particular the bed) was massive with all the amenities you needed. We would definitly recommend this hotel to anybody who wanted a stressless stay in Malta.

The hotel is nice and well located. Depending on your trip intentions moving by public transport takes minimum a ride of 30 mins so if you want to just relax this hotel is a great option. The rooms smelled like humidity and they should look into repairing it specially if it goes through the furniture (the side of the kitchen on my apartment was pretty bad) and the sea room I was given had no sea view due to other buildings. The staff is extremely nice and helpful a d willing to help if anything happens. The hotel itself is quite big and the rooms/apartments are great, but they need renovation. Other than that I had a great time!

An enjoyable weekend break at Solana. The place is well positioned in the center of Mellieha to explore the town, v. nice view from the rooftop (attached a pic) that they also highlight as instagram-worthy. I rated the location 4/5 because of the relatively minor difficulty to find close-by parking as you need to be careful due to limited hours, but I learnt after that the hotel offers limited parking spots against payment. Cleanliness and service both rated an excellent 5/5. The facilities were good, again they didn't merit a 5/5 only because of a couple of small issues: you can experience a relatively long wait for the 2 lifts (used by guests and staff) at peak times since the hotel consists of two connected buildings, the gym needs a spruce-up as the multi-use machine needs a good oiling and the treadmill's arm cushions easily came unstuck, and the rooftop pool water was slightly murky on Sat afternoon and Sun morning. Other than our studio apartment was a comfortable fit for a family of 4, that included a well-equipped kitchenette that we used on the second night when the kids fancied an evening in after a long day. And nice to see once again the old-school complimentary sewing needle and thread, as well as a good sized bathtub. Tea and coffee freebies were present in abundance in the room. Breakfast was delicious and they certainly got the bacon, sausages, eggs, pastry and yogurt right. All in all, a well-priced worthy consideration if you're staying in Mellieha.

We stayed on the older side of the hotel. Room smelt of damp and when we complained they came in and bleached the floors nothing else. There was only one socket in the room which kept crackling. The breakfast was average but we went up the road to Debbie’s Cafe which was great. The pool upstairs was good with nice views but the drinks were overly priced. We had a couples massage “Back, shoulders and neck”. My other half only had his neck massaged. I had all parts it felt good but later that day I experienced some horrific neck pain and felt as though a muscle had twinged. Not worth the price we paid. We went to the Thai Fusion restaurant the views were great but I wasn’t over impressed with my dish to start as is was a red curry in soup water, thankfully they took it back and the taste wasn’t so bad. Again felt it was over priced for what it was. Over all hotel was okay, but the services within were very overly priced. I also think had our room been on the renovated side we would of been more positive on our review as our room was outdated and stunk of damp.

Wonderful hotel/resort, friendly staff members always here to assist always smiling, making it a very positive place to be and to feel good vibes. 2 restaurants, delicious food, variety of food for every taste. The best thing is the AMAZING SEA VIEW 🌊 Mini bar drinks complimentary woohoo 😀

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. The bistro is very nice and elegant. The good attention at all times from the staff stands out, they are very cordial, helpful and always serve you with a smile on their face. Also in terms of food and drinks compared to other accommodations I visited in the same area, I notice that the level is higher, abundant and well served.

Inhawi Boutique Hostel is a great place to stay. It's really close to the ocean, there are supermarkets, bars and restaurants nearby. The bus stop is really close as well. So the location is great. The staff is for the most parts very friendly, helpful and accommodating. My brother and I had a great time at the hostel. The facilities are good. The pool and chill out area downstairs are great. The rooms are big enough and they are clean. The breakfast was one of the best hostel breakfasts I ever had. I would highly recommend this hostel and if in Malta again stay there myself anytime. Returned 2 weeks ago after a wonderful week saying at The Palace Hotel. It took a long time to decide where to stay in Malta given the enormous choice and yet very mixed reviews, however I was really pleased we settled on The Palace. I did 1 less star for 'value', but this wasn't just in relation to The Palace as I thought generally hotel's in Malta were definitely on the pricier side. The room was lovely with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen and we had some lovely touches such as a daily visit from hospitality asking if we needed anything, and a bottle of filtered water changed daily. An excellent idea and far better than the frequent plastic bottles and subsequent waste. We also arrived on my husband’s birthday and quite unexpectedly in the evening, a lovely birthday cake was delivered to our room! From our initial greeting at reception with a lovely local drink and onwards, we had a brilliant service from every single member of staff. They were all very helpful and yet not intrusive. In particular lovely Puja in the wonderful TemptAsian’ restaurant, and Dhilip who served us both by the pool and at the ground floor Talk of the Town restaurant. Both were extremely knowledgeable and gave sound advice regarding choice of meals and suitable local wines. As we like to try local restaurants when we go away, we chose the bed and breakfast option however we were so impressed with the lovely rooftop TemptAsian restaurant we ate there twice. We then went for the buffet in the Talk of the Town restaurant on our last night, where we again had an excellent service from Dhilip, and where the food was well presented and excellent value for money. Sliema is a busy place with lots of hotels, and as other reviewers have stated, The Palace was within the centre of the peninsula, so although it wasn’t in the most picturesque road, given its proximity to all public transport, the ferry and bus stops including the ‘hop on/off’, we felt there was no necessity to hire a car. We did the short ferry over to Valletta many times and a bonus for us was a considerable ‘over 60’ concession. We managed to cram a lot in during our week in Malta from the numerous museums, tombs, caves and other historical places, in addition to exploration of the island on both the north and south hop on/off buses and brief trip to Gozo. I’m not sure we could not have done quite so much had we not been in such an ideal location. The other bonus was on the days we were back in time, having a swim in the gorgeous rooftop pool, and the Happy hour cocktails between 3 and 5 pm. Highly recommend this as a wonderful place to stay in Malta.

My stay at the Deep Blu Boutique hotel on the beautiful and quieter west coast of Malta, close to the impressive Blue Grotto and the temples of Hagar Qim, has been truly wonderful. This is a superb hotel in a unique location! For the staff it seems natural to make sure their guests have a perfect stay. And they absolutely succeed in doing so! The rooms are beautifully designed and furnished and very comfortable. If you can stay in a superior room with sea view, as I could, you'll wake up with view on the vast Mediterranean illuminated by the morning sunlight and you'll be able to view the sunset from just that same place. But the ambiance of the hotel is marvelous whichever room you stay in. I hope to be back some time in the future and for now keep wonderful memories :-) Thank you!
