✅ Pros
✔️ Close to Alona Beach
Alona Gecko Inn is very close to Alona Beach, perfect for those who want to go for a beach walk or snorkel in the sea.
✔️ Affordable price
Cheaper compared to other beachfront resorts but still comfortable to stay in.
✔️ Clean and tidy rooms
Most guests say that the rooms are clean and the housekeeping is good.
✔️ Friendly and approachable staff
The staff can help guests with tours, bookings, and other needs.
✔️ Close to restaurants and bars
There are many dining options, cafes, and nightlife options near the hotel — you don't have to go far to find food or entertainment.
✔️ Free Wi-Fi in common areas
You can connect to the internet while in the lobby or common areas.
❌ Cons
✖️ Rooms are a bit small
Some guests say the rooms are not very spacious, especially if you have a large group or are staying for a long time.
✖️ Amenities are limited
There aren't many high-end amenities like a pool, spa, or gym — they only offer basic services.
✖️ Wi-Fi is inconsistent in the room
The Wi-Fi signal is sometimes weak or weak inside the room, stronger in the lobby.
✖️ Noise is a bit loud
When there are a lot of people in the Alona Beach area, you can sometimes hear the sound of bars and music outside at night.
✖️ No free breakfast
It's common for bookings to not include free meals — it's an extra cost if you want breakfast at the hotel.
🌴 Summary in Bisaya
Alona Gecko Inn is a budget-friendly place very close to Alona Beach, clean and the staff is approachable. But the service is really basic, and if you want more amenities or a larger room, you might be better off looking at other accommodations in the area.

The hotel can be given 3.5 or 4 stars.
The hotel itself is located a hundred meters from the sea, Talisay beach, but the beach is so-so, it is better to go along the coast to the main Anda beach. There is a good road to the hotel and the beach, and there are two natural swimming pools nearby (seven minutes away).
The hotel staff deserves the highest marks.
You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner too. There are only six rooms with a nice pool.
What I didn’t like: the lack of a refrigerator in the room, I think in hot countries there should be one.
What can be done to improve it: Add a shower curtain or shower curtain. You should also hang clotheslines or clothes drying facilities.
In general, there are more pros than cons, the hotel can be recommended for a holiday, but it is advisable to correct the cons that were mentioned above.

HelenLenThe hotel is brand new and super comfortable. The walking distance to Alona beach and McDonald’s area is only 12-15 minutes. Before entering the hotel area there are few local houses with chickens, roosters and dogs that might make noise, but the safety and comfort are guaranteed in the hotel. The receptionist and apparently the owner’s son is super helpful and friendly. We loved the bed and the AC there. The guy helped us with finding an early bird tricycle driver and even fetched a fresh pomelo from their garden. We definitely recommend this hotel, especially after staying at more expensive, but very tiny and smelly rooms in the same area. The room size made us feel soooo good and relaxing.

A nice hotel, literally a 5-minute crawl to the sea, and a minute to the main street. Yet, it's located on a quiet street.
Just like in all hotels in the Philippines, you have to ask for towel changes or cleaning. Once we figured out this system, there were no issues; they did everything right away.
The staff are excellent and friendly – always ready to help and advise.
The downsides: there's absolutely nowhere to dry clothes. We had to hang everything on hangers in the shared patio. The upside: nothing ever gets stolen, so we felt comfortable leaving our belongings and heading out.
In the bathroom, there are simply no hooks for towels.
Overall, the hotel left a pleasant impression. As for drying racks and hooks, this is a common issue in almost all hotels in this price range.

Guest UserThis hotel is good, the rooms are bigger and the facilities are more complete. The environment of the hotel is very good. On the first floor is a large restaurant similar to a coffee shop. But the breakfast is average, so it's a meal. There are two types to choose from, American or local, American is bread slices, and the local staple food is rice. The hotel is quiet, the only downside is that it is a bit far from the pier. But the hotel service is very good, knowing that we are going to the pier in the morning, we sent a car to take us there. The price does not feel expensive.

Guest UserThe location is a bit remote, so be careful when you come out at night, but the store finds her relatives to drive back to pick us up. It is quite convenient. You can rent the store’s motorbike around the island, which is very fun. The hotel is close to the sea. In the morning, you can catch a lot of marine life. Breakfast is included. Although it is not delicious, the breakfast in the Philippines is not very good. It’s primitive and beautiful inside. We don’t want to go out anymore. Personally, I think it’s more beautiful than Alona’s beach. There are too many people there, so it’s not quiet here. However, the network is not good here, and the signal has to be better by the pool. There is also a small shop where you can buy snacks and drinks, and you can also have dinner here.

Uknowsuke trip
First of all, the service is perfect. They were very kind. I had to go to the port early in the morning, but they arranged a tuk-tuk for me. I was very grateful for that.
The location is also close to Alona Beach, and if you take a motorbike taxi, it will cost about 50 pesos.
You can also walk there, but it's a bit difficult at night, so I recommend taking a motorbike taxi. There is a very stylish cafe restaurant near the hotel, so please try it.
There were quite a few ants in the room, but it didn't bother me. If you are concerned about them, please use another hotel.
The water pressure in the shower is a little weak, but hot water comes out!

Guest UserAmenities, do not expect much, they only provide water dispenser downstairs with reusable mugs; bedsheets are thin & a bit old but tolerable, looks clean and smells good, & blankets are ok; with 1 pillow only each bed; inside bathroom has 2 pcs small soap (though I saw 1 tiny cockroach inside, hu hu hu!). We enjoyed their TV with netflix. Staffs are kind & very approachable, & helpful as well. With limited parking (2-3 cars).

Its always been my apartelle everytime I go to Bohol. The receptionists are accommodating♥️.It's clean . But I kinda hear some noise from people staying even late hours but that's fine. The price is good. But there was an incident I went back at 11 something in the evening from Alona Panglao for a night out and the apartelle is close. I knocked until Tatay finally open the door for me😂.I will be back there again soon!! And by the way you can order them a very cheap and yummy breakfast served right in your room. Thank you Mellow! The nearest mall by the way is Island city mall. If i were you book now! And explore amazing Bohol!
