4-Star Hotels in Portimao

This is a higher end hotel in Portimao. The room has a modern design. Huge amount of square footage, complete with a balcony. Asked for a room facing a quiet alleyway. First room was on the 5th floor, in the morning I was disturbed by housekeeping for the room above me, I can literally hear every sound. Called to change to a top floor room, after initially asking me to pay more for a top floor room, they eventually were able to secure one. Moved to that room and had mostly no issue with noise. I can still hear my next door neighbor when they move things around but not conversations. Breakfast was good, it doesn’t change much over the 3 days I’ve been there, but the spread is vast so you can always find something that ticks your fancy. Didn’t use hotel parking as it was the low season and street parking was abundant. Overall a good experience. Docked 1 star for the noise.

The location is acceptable, not remote, there is a restaurant next to it, and it takes more than ten minutes to walk to a very lively place. But to the pier, you basically need to take a taxi. The room environment facilities are good, breakfast is OK. The only problem is that the room is allocated on the first floor, and the sound insulation is not good. I don't know if it will be better on the higher floor or not facing the street.

This hotel is very recent. Beautiful, elegant and well-equipped in terms of services. What doesn't strike us as normal, however, is the lack of little touches for a hotel in this category. No shampoo, no q-tips, just the same gel for washing hands and in the shower. No shower cap. An empty fridge bar. We appreciate the coffee machine and the bottle of water, but one normal coffee capsule and 3 decaffeinated coffee capsules... not logical... We asked for a room with a bath when we booked (we were ”upgraded” without any request on our part, on a ”marina” view, but with a shower. As we are not very nice customers, we didn't say anything. The bedding is good. The pillows are quite thick, which can be uncomfortable for people with sensitive necks. 3 cushions are available, but they are all very dense. The road is very noisy, subject to a few car rodeos at night. I've heard that the rooftop is noisy in November, but fortunately this is not the case. The staff are friendly and respond to requests. The breakfast buffet is very comprehensive, but for the evening menu, this type of buffet seems less attractive, but will surely please some people. The spa is very good, at 12.5 euros for one hour (equipped swimming pool, sauna, hammam, etc.). There is a car park at the hotel for 6 euros a night, but free parking is available 200m from the hotel by the beach. All in all, then, this is a fine hotel with a lot of potential, but some details clearly need to be reviewed to make it really nice.

It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to Praia da Rocha. The location is convenient, but the hotel's hygiene level is average. I wonder if it is because our room is located underground. There are many flying ants and insects. Many flying ants fell from the chandelier onto our bed.

The hotel was great, and I was lucky to be upgraded to the huge terrace of the suite on the top floor, and then each room has a corresponding terrace. The staff is warm and thoughtful. There is a beach on foot at the entrance of the hotel, and it is very convenient to go to other places. It is about 500 meters away from the hotel. There is a sea view steak restaurant. It is recommended that everyone go to the environment.

The hotel was okay to stay in but way too overpriced especially because they’re not really a five star hotel in my opinion. Simple amenities such as shampoo, bathrobes, slippers and lotion are not provided for a five star hotel. I didn’t get help from the Porter to take my bags etc. I like that it’s all inclusive and it’s so convenient to eat at the hotel however the food could have been fresher. The pools were amazing and the hotel is very close to the beach which is good. Getting around is a headache unless you hire a car, it would take me forever to get an Uber. Not the hotels fault obviously but just something to note. The hotel is so huge that the shared lift would take forever and unfortunately can’t choose which one to take as the lift chooses the floor automatically . While it was a good stay I don’t know if I would stay here again because of my expectations of an all inclusive 5star hotel. Also make sure to go watch the sunset by the beach, absolutely breathtaking.

Excellent and complete service, even in a low season when one could assume a decrease in the quality and availability of services. On the contrary!! Kindness and total availability, as well as the operation of the facilities. An experience to be repeated, perhaps at another time of year.

nice view nice pool loveit Very good value for money and friends set an ordinary hotel room but unexpectedly too beautiful. The hotel has apartments and villas of various room types. In the future, I will come back with my parents. All the scenery in the picture is in the hotel. There are three swimming pools. The most beautiful is the one by the sea and there is next to it. The viewing platform overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. There are ladders to go down to the beach. There are many restaurants in the hotel. But the location is a bit biased. But Portugal is convenient to take a taxi. The only bad point is that one day we hung up the sign that needed cleaning, but we came back at night and found that there was no. People came to clean the room. We thought no one would come to clean before we checked out. We didn't take the sign back, but we didn't expect the room service to knock on the door the next day. We were a little embarrassed...
