The hotel itself is in major need of renovation, it’s extremely dated and falling apart.
I booked a single room which was small as to be expected, the bed was very uncomfortable so much so I had back pain for the duration of my stay, the rug on the room floor was falling apart and was very dirty, the room was also freezing as the radiator didn’t work and window let in a lot of draft. When I mentioned this to the front desk, from their response it seemed we’re already aware of the problem but gave me the room anyway, the excuse was “it’s because the room is in the corner” this shouldn’t make any difference and a paying guest should be be expected to sleep in the cold.
I was given a (cheap) electric heater by the hotel receptionist to plug in the room, it was also broken and was tripping a lot and was dangerous to use as it was an electrical hazard.
The breakfast was average, nothing fancy but nothing terrible it was included in the price so better than paying because it would not be worth it otherwise in my
Opinion.
The location is good, in the heart of the old town and most things are walkable from there.
The staff at the hotel (besides the radiator issue) were friendly and willing to make sure the stay was a good one so for customer service besides the above I commend them but otherwise the whole experience would not have me returning there.
