Received very poor customer service in the restaurant by the assistant restaurant manager Matthew. We arrived for breakfast to celebrate our Daughter and Son-in-laws Anniversary. We were made to feel unwelcome, an inconvenience. Matthew was abrupt and rude. If we hadn’t been there to celebrate their anniversary we would not of stayed. We have made a formal complaint. This is just to pre warn potential customers that the level of service we received was atrocious.

Stayed here on the way home from the airport after a long flight. We checked in late so didn't get to try the restaurant but the menu looked good. Very friendly staff and large comfortable room. I'm sure we will be back

Comfortable hotel - bedrooms very nice Very expensive drinks - pint of soda and lime £6.90 - don’t miss any trick to charge. Bar service can be slow. Restaurant - Food generally is good but a touch expensive - don’t like charging for service.

A very impressive building, plenty of parking. Really nice bar, very welcoming. Staff friendly and helpful. Really lovely bedroom, spacious with comfy sofa. Lovely large bathroom with bath and walk in shower. Everywhere was very clean. There was a wedding on whilst we were there but it didn’t encroach on the running of the hotel whatsoever, and there was no late night music or noise from the wedding guests. The restaurant was really nice, we had a lovely meal. So a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend.

Good location, extensive grounds, close to good road connections. The rooms in this hotel are small. They are not what the management and website would lead you to believe. It would be true to say that they are successful blend of modern and traditional decor and have been developed within the character and constraints of an old traditional building. The words' large' and 'spacious ' do not apply. Staff: The whole point of the hospitality industry is to be hospitable - or is this just my opinion? 5* hotels treat their residents as welcome guests. Corporate hotels treat residents like paying customers whom they would like repeat business from. Second rate boarding houses treat their guests with disdain. Despite its beautiful appearance, this is a corporate hotel. That's OK. I like corporate hotels. Staff uniform is very smart. Restaurant staff, bar staff and housekeeping are all very helpful, pleasant and cheerful. However, one member of staff was very bossy, telling me what would be happening and what I was going to do and what I wasn't going to do - regardless of any consideration of my feelings on the matter. I was treated as just a person who happened to be staying in a room and should be grateful to be there and should do as I was told. The attitude was that I was irrelevant and insignificant - just another person passing through on the hotel conveyor belt. The repetition of the word 'lovely' 'lovely' did not improve my experience. It annoyed me intensely. The whole experience ruined my stay and soured my impressions of the hotel. Quite frankly, I am too old to do as I am told by some young whipper snapper. I am quite capable of living my own life.

Magnificent stay. Room very well appointed. Loved the heated bathroom floor and powerful shower. Grounds and building beautiful and well-maintained. Big car park. Easy access to local sights. Staff friendly, chatty and efficient. Bar and dining room relaxing and stylish. Best part - food, especially the dinners. Catered very well for a vegan and a carnivore alike.

Having been to Hogarths for high tea last year we went for lunch again on Tuesday, lovely place to eat, staff are fantastic and the food is very good but the portion sizes are far too small in the restaurant, with the high tea we came away with enough for lunch the following day ( the staff kindly provided takeaway boxes, but eating in the restaurant (second time we have done this) i left still feeling hungry and had a sandwich at home, top marks for everything except quantity.
