The K Club

We really enjoyed our visit to The K Club. It was so relaxing and had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were so helpful and courteous.

Throughout our short break, we had already been very impressed with the warmth of welcome, beauty of surroundings, high standard of accommodation, dining and other facilities. At every stage of our stay and with each member of staff, we found these high standards to be our consistent experience, with no one letting the team down. As we checked out, we had commented on this to the member of staff on reception. However, as we reached our car and discovered a challenging problem, the staff rallied round us with care, commitment and humour. They truly were exceptional and we have felt very humbled and grateful for the kindness shown. We booked K Club based on recommendation and were certainly not disappointed. If anything, after our stay, the high opinion shared by our friends has only been reinforced because of our personal experience.

One of the worst stays I’ve had in a hotel. My daughter booked three rooms for us and a dinner in the Palmer. Asked if we could have three rooms close by each other when we arrived. Not possible. Two rooms on one floor one on the floor below. No information given at reception. Had to ask three times where the breakfast room was. After having a drink in the bar we returned to our room which had a foul smell. Duty manager moved us after inspecting the room and yes there was a room magically available on the same floor as the other two rooms and just across the hall. To be fair he was very apologetic and a ted very promptly. In the lead up to our arrival the staff member communicating with my daughter insisted we supply the names for each room in order to personalise them! No personalisation. No welcome message apart from bizarrely 3 cartons of ribena in one room, two in another and one in the third! Dinner in the Palmer was a farce. Unorganised chaos. We got a drink and our order was taken then no one came near us again for the full 45 minutes we stayed there. My husband never got his main course. When finally a staff member said it had been forgotten and she would bring it in 10 minutes we gave up. The lovely man who drives the shuttle was mortified when we told him how bad the service was. Such a shame as the food we did get was lovely. Back to the hotel and asked the lady masquerading as a concierge where we could sit for a quiet drink. Again got over there! So we went to the cocktail lounge where by the staff member took our order then pointed at my youngest who is 15 and said “ is she 18?” We said no so he said we needed to move next door. No problem but surely we could have been told this at check in or when we asked where we should sit. No turn down service on the new room. Breakfast was wonderful the following morning and the food and beverage manager spoke to my husband to apologise. They did take off the price of the dinner we didn’t receive off by then I was so glad to leave.

The K Club has it all for a relaxing break. Highly recommend, definitely 5 star. great Staff, food, Spa (really good, had the best facial and back massage ever), lovely pool (changing facilities tight, gets busy, Gym, Pool and Spa users). Must mention the Sommellier, very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our break and will be back. Thank you.

Hotel was so cold rooms cold asked to have it addressed never happened food not up to 5 star very disappointed function room so cold we had to put on coats no snow outside just rain but cold and well forecasted totally not up to 5 star food was cold and extremely sparce portions tiny .
