In the countryside in Stratford in a beautiful timber beamed building. The room was dark but spacious. We had the family room with a double and two single. Breakfast was included. No menus but the waiter said any English breakfast combination which was great. I had two poached eggs. The only problem was a lack of communication regarding the usual route to find the hotel being closed due to road works. Navigating a one way system in an unfamiliar town with no email or call to let us know how we were to get to the hotel was extremely stressful and put us 1.5 hours behind the schedule to arrive. This could have been sorted if the hotel had contacted trip.com with the landline provided at booking and explained about road works so I could have been forwarned.

This hotel is recommended by a local tour guide. The appearance looks inconspicuous. After entering, it is a hotel with a very miniature facility. The hotel lobby is like a living room, which also meets the style of Shakespeare's town. There is a famous saying of Shakespeare's works at the door of each room. Very interesting, The room is small, the facilities are retro, but very clean, the hotel is sitting on the central street of the town, behind is Shakespeare's birthplace, the town itself is not very big, the distance can be reached within walking distance, the most relaxed city in the whole trip, breakfast is cold buffet, Hot food, choose the main dish, pay attention to the coffee is a single charge, this is a little different from other hotel breakfast

We had booked two rooms, one king double and one superior. The main thing is the feeling of no maintenance, dirty rooms and bad breakfast. The carpets are so ripped and stained. The continental is ok if you only like a toast and a coffee, but we paid for cooked breakfast, twice, and wished we had stepped outside and eaten somewhere else. The rooms need a deep clean. The cealing and corners got dust hanging, with insects caugh in it. Because of the heat, and no AC, the windows had to be open. Watch of for spiders… The king room had only a shower curtain and the bathroom got wet while showering. The superior room was of ok size. Both rooms had bad lightening, and a mini mirror in a dark bathroom. If you want to apply make up, shave etc, you will need to do this by chance. The good thing is location, but there are so many other places to stay. I wonder how this is a four star hotel? Friends stayed at the Indigo next door, and it is so much better!

Staying at the hotel is always so comfortable, so welcoming, with such a perfect location, and such amazing staff. I know this is at least my third review but what is really striking is that they have kept to a consistently high standard. The Hotel du Vin is a relatively small, around 40 rooms and I hope someone from the staff will correct me if I'm wrong and beautifully located for Stratford. I first stayed here in 2019 and was wowed then by just how well everything worked. Fast forward almost 5 years and everything still works, the rooms are still highly functional with great bathrooms and really comfortable beds (the key things) and they have maintained the hotel to a really high standard. It kinda looks today just like it did 5 years ago (okay, maybe a lick o paint on the outside of the entry doors?). Lets go back to the staff, whatever you're doing PLEASE keep doing it. There has been some rotation of staff but it seems you're always promoting from within and then training replacements to a really high level. It shows and it's great to see. From the bar staff (I'm sorry but I've forgotten her name but she was there almost all last week! apologies!) to the restaurant head last week (and another thank you for rustling up a rapid dinner for me before I had to head to Warwick Hospital's Emergency Room because my mother had just been admitted - I'm not sure he got the urgency but responded magnificently) to the every wonderful Mary doing the breakfast shift (and thanks again for seating me early on Saturday so I could spend a few more minutes with my mother - precious!) to the front desk staff and housekeeping everyone is polite efficient and friendly. I have to give a special shout out to Mary! She's a joy and I loved our little early morning chats!

A special thanks to Rejo and Eve, who were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent, largely due to the thoughtful suggestions from the staff, especially Rejo, who guided us through the menu and ensured we had the best options. The wine selection was perfect, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay, and we look forward to returning in the future.

I lived in a triple room, a double bed and a single bed. The landlord was very enthusiastic. When checking in, the facilities and surrounding environment were very detailed. The room was small but well-equipped and clean. Breakfast per person can choose up to seven things (including milk orange juice sandwich toast croissant cereal yogurt Fruits and so on), the overall stay experience is good.

My partner and I had been to Coventry the night before and stayed in a 4 star Ramada hotel which - surprisingly - is also owned by Wyndham. My partner had booked the room and mistakenly booked the Northbound hotel instead of the Southbound hotel. The person on the desk at the Southbound hotel was super helpful and could not have done enough for us. When we got to the Northbound hotel, the staff here were equally helpful. This was a last-minute booking so we didn't have to drive tired and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room!

Nice looking pub with lovely river opposite Accommodation was round the back with separate door to enter which had a key code lock where a key to enter is stored in a box this was explained to us as the pub shuts early due to low season. We returned around 11:30pm put the code in and no key was in the box we then had to call an emergency number and somebody had to travel to us to let us in a bit inconvenient for both parties I’m just glad I wasn’t on my own as it’s in the middle of nowhere Rooms were fine bed clean etc but I think it should state very clearly that the rooms share a bathroom as I didn’t notice that and would not have booked knowing this , the apar**ent they have though is lovely and has ample room and it’s own bathroom. Beer was good Breakfast next morning was fine not worth though the £25 for 2 people as you get a cooked breakfast with tea or coffee that’s it it’s just brought to you no buffet option or juice cereal etc and some of it was a bit cold Staff were fine I would stay again as to be honest what we paid wasn’t a lot but I’d prefer to pay a bit more and have my own bathroom I’d also recommend just having a coded door not a key in a box as I gather this problem will happen often

Outstanding
Great welcome from Steve host who was so kind with all my faffing around and rebooking needs, Really comfortable rooms, great en-suite shower in the twin, lovely private bathroom for sole use of the King room (please do not be put off by this as the room is quite separate to others on the floor (as in turn right or left at the top of the stairs and very tastefully curtained off for privacy.)). The property has beautiful- views, lovely. 20 mins pleasant walk to the Cotswold Distillery- great afternoon out - tasting. (Apparently look on Groupon for offers) Dinner at Feldon Valley Golf Club “The Kitchen” next door to B&B delicious. Lizzy gave us a lift (AND offered to pick us up - how generous?) but we walked back (8 mins) with a decent torch (do not forget this townies if you are out at night) Wildlife around there lovely, villages beautiful . The breakfast provided by Steve and the talented Lizzy was hands down the best ever. Choice, quality, home made in the extreme, And the four of us have stayed in quite a few places right around the globe. If you need a place to stay in this area, I would say , stop looking and book here. Excellent.
DDEECoventryAmazing guest house. Exceptionally clean. The room had everything we needed. The hosts were so lovely and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious, cooked fresh to order. Available items were fresh fruit, fruits juices, cereals, yogurts, toast with butter/preserves, cooked breakfast, scrambles egg on toast, tea, coffee.... and more. It is about a 10 minute walk into town. There is a garage next door and a Spar shop a minute away. Highly recommend a visit to Veeno in the town. We booked the wine pairing experience and it was amazing. We will be returning as the guest house was fabulous and there is plenty to do in Stratford.
GGuest UserWe spent one night here. The Hotel is in a small village just outside Stratford. There is not much outside space other than parking. A warm welcome at Reception and felt totally safe with the COVID arrangements. The reception area was very clean as was our room (No.1 on the. ground floor). Indeed you would have thought it was a brand new room. The facilities in the room were excellent. Large TV with Movie channels. The walk-in shower was very clean. We ate in the Saddles Bar and the food was excellent. The breakfast service was great and the food was top quality. I have tried to find something to find fault with but I can't. Even the price was very reasonable.
ZZ9608KNsarahbLodges and surroundings are nice, but, there's always a but, the rooms have no Aircon or windows to open during the night. I found a fan in the wardrobe which helped, but in the summer air is needed! The bed very comfortable, the bathroom an accident waiting to happen - nothing in the bath to stop you slipping when showering as it's an over the bath shower. The complimentary bath robe would fit Barbie but not the average person. Restaurant ok.. breakfast - the bacon and sausage have obviously been pre-cooked and kept warm which is not nice and like chewing leather. Presentation is everything. Chef needs to up their game sorry to say.. The place is all geared up for golf and the 19th hole can get very busy at lunchtime. I didn't dine in the evening so can't comment. Staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Who ever cleaned my room did an excellent job!
GGuest UserHad a fabulous two night stay at The DoubleTree while working away from home. Staff very friendly and they couldn't do enough for their guests We didn't realise at the time of booking that breakfast was included, this was an added bonus, Great selection of both hot and cold food. The hotel is in a perfect location, just a short stroll to the pubs, restaurants in the centre. Will definitely return but for pleasure rather than business next time
GGuest UserCouple with dog.
For two nights we didn't have hot water. We rang reception an spoke to the duty manager - the second time...He told us it was because there was a coach load of people staying who had all taken a shower/bath at the same time on their return, and we would have to wait until it heated up again. That didn't allow for the lack of pressure - a trickle! In the end we gave up - no shower/bath. However, the duty manager assured us that the manager would find us the next morning.... this never happened, On the Saturday night the same thing happened. The excuse given by the receptionist for the manager not having found us that morning was there was a wedding and all managers were needed - they didn't start their shift until 11am. The duty manager couldn't speak to us as he was working at the wedding - Saturday night - but Leanne assured us that she had noted our complaint and that she had written up notes, and our inconvenience (now not having hot water for two nights of a three night stay) would be reflected in our invoice on checking out. This wasn't the point. The stay was supposed to be a relaxing, super special treat, not able to have a shower or a bath at night was NOT okay! She assured us that on the third night the 'tour' party and 'wedding party' would have left. So we would have hot water. Which we did.
On checking out the receptionist had no idea about our complaint, and therefore couldn't help us.
We are in the process of writing a compliant, and a review. The staff and hotel did not let you down - the management did!
I have a video of the water pressure.
On another point, the hotel is described as dog friendly. This might be the case. You can bring your dog for a fee of £25 a night, however, on check in we were told we had to eat in the bar area or outside. Luckily the weather was okay. However, we felt like second class citizens! Not only that but the bar area has no tables at which anyone could eat a meal - the tables are all low and only fit for snacks!
Just returned from 2 nights at the blue boar. What a hidden gem this is. Fantastic country pub and accommodation. The staff are great with Stephen going the extra mile to get gluten free for my wife. The rest of the staff were attentive and so friendly. Food is excellent especially the Indian dishes available. Room was spotless and quite large. Overall a brilliant place to stay we will be going back.
