It was already very late today after I finished dinner with my clients. The hotel has a nice environment and it is very convenient to take a taxi directly to the hotel entrance. The hotel front desk saw that I had been drinking and helped me take my luggage to the door of the room. The service was good. Today's breakfast was very rich and the hotel facilities were complete. This is my first time staying at Atour, and overall I am quite satisfied. The room is fully equipped and the small refrigerator is full of things. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Convenience stores and restaurants are within easy reach. It takes about ten minutes to walk to Wanda Plaza. If you don't want to go out for dinner, you can easily order takeaway. The hotel has a special food delivery robot to deliver food to the door of the room, which is really convenient. Jjimmyliu2I have been to Tongli Lake Resort for two consecutive years during the National Day holiday. This time it was a family trip with 5 families. This time I stayed in the second phase garden view twin room. The second phase was built later and the decoration was a little newer than the first phase villa room. The hotel has complete tourist facilities and can basically meet the needs of children. The ticket to the ancient town is free after 5 pm! It took a long time to get the room during the National Day. It would be better if it could be optimized!

LljjjRoom: The room is quite okay, not too small but not too big. We can open two 24-inch suitcases in the room.
Air Conditioning: The air conditioning is a standard unit (not central), and you can use the remote to set the temperature according to your preferences. You can adjust it to be very cold or less cold.
Amenities: Every day, they refill two bottles of mineral water for us. They also provide new slippers, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and shampoo daily. Towels can also be changed every day. There are about 4-5 sockets in the room. Remember to bring a universal adapter, as the sockets are not designed for international use, although there is a USB port that can be used directly.
Shower: The water pressure is not very strong but still acceptable.
Breakfast: The hotel only has a pantry area with 1 table and limited chairs (similar to pantry) and no restaurant.
Transport: The hotel is near the Humble Administrator's Garden (5 minutes walking distance), Lion Forest Garden (3 minutes walking distance), and Suzhou Museum (5 minutes walking distance). The Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum are located side by side. If you donāt mind walking, you can also reach Pingjiang Road (15-20 minutes walking distance) and Guanqian Street (15-20 minutes walking distance). For other attractions, you might need to call Didi.
Location: There is a Family Mart located in the same row as the hotel, making it easy to buy snacks. My travel dates are May 21, 2024 - May 23, 2024. There is some construction nearby (it seems to be a new metro construction). Itās not noisy but a bit dusty. When walking to Pingjiang Road and Guanqian Street, you need to walk near the main road and construction site. It can be slightly dangerous, but many people are using the same route.
Laundry: They offer a free laundry service. You can use the washing machine and dryer for free. However, there are only two washing machines and two dryers. Many people use them at night, so you might need to wait when others are using them.
Overall, it is good for a short stay and budget travelers.

GGuest UserThere were a few ants in the first room we booked, but after a few screams and a phonecall we were quickly moved to another ant-free room. The staff were so helpful, kind and willing to communicate in English to the best of their ability. They made plenty of gestures with bowls of fruit, fragrant sacks and even a personal delivery of the food menu when we couldn't find the English menu on the TV. Their frequent arrivals had us jumping in our robes to grab the door every so often, but each time we were grateful to receive such thoughtful snacks and smells. Lovely place. Would visit again.

Qqueen_kooIf youāre looking for a perfect 4 star venue in the city centre then look no further! This place is a good bargain all round the year and even in peak seasons. I am going to split my review into sections so bare with me.
1) Rooms: The outdated the rooms need a serious paint jobs and the couch is quite āscratchyā material wise. Despite the interior eye sore, the flats are quite cosy with everything you need. Scenery wise , those who arenāt afraid of heights request the balcony rooms ! Maybe they donāt have the views of the shanghai centre shopping mall but the evening breeze did put me to sleep like a baby! Also the television was well packed with nostalgic movies , I really enjoyed the entertainment. Although the TV volume doesnāt go too loud , I guess itās good respect to the neighbors some of who are long term tenants.
2) Service: Impeccable. The people here, although clearly overworked are so nice! The housekeepers are all so wonderful ! They were the ones who let me come back to a clean flat everyday , really it was a piece of home with a whole lot of help! For shampoos and conditioners and shower gel you would need to let the front desk know you need it, so please keep that in mind!
3) Breakfast: Just enough for survival , Iām quite particular about my tastes in food where the buffet options were too less and unfortunately not too tasty. But I was able to surviveā¦I really hope they can fix this though cause the place although cheaper than others isnāt exactly cheap as well. If you want a good breakfast spread , you will be left heavily disappointed.
Thereās a lot of cost cutting the hotel group has done and itās obviousā¦I hope Ascott takes this into consideration cause itās not good to have better hotels around the world but keep smaller cities forgotten and tightly budgeted!!
Suzhou is quite expensive than other cities due to the constant influx of tourists.
I donāt usually write much for my reviews but In this case I seem to care after seeing the overworked hotel staff and the poor conditions around them.
Come on Ascott do better. I initially was tempted to give a 3/5 review stars but itās the people that pushed it up.

GGuest UserReally beautiful place. It looks to be brand new - maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but it certainly looks new. The room (a suite) was very spacious, very clean. Just a very beautiful place that fit well with the surroundings. The whole building was impeccably clean.
I rated the service 5/5 because the owners were very nice, and largely left us alone. The family was processing tea and were quite busy - check-in was extremely quick, check-out too. I'm not looking for hospitality, so being left alone suited us fine - this isn't a criticism at all! The rooms don't really come with much extra (tea, coffee etc.), just a couple of bottles of water, so best to know that before you book if you usually expect this, but we didn't so we were fine with it.
You can buy really good tea from them (maybe we timed it well as we arrived at the peak tea-picking time). The owners were very kind and let us try some, and it's really good tea - we ended up buying some.
Food was pretty good, but again they were quite busy and have specific times that food is available, and no menu, so best to check ahead with them (again, really taking into account that they were super busy processing tea when we were there). Absolutely not a problem as there are so many great restaurants around too.
TV in the room had VOD but without VIP, so if you're looking to watch movies or anything best to bring your own (including HDMI cable as our TV didn't have one).
Location excellent. Space for maybe 4 cars to park, right next to a small hill, very close to the pick-up point for the sightseeing bus to take you up to Xishan, and surrounded by lots of restaurants, B+Bs etc. so if you like coffee, there's a shop just down the road. Very beautiful surroundings - you will be shocked that you're so close to Suzhou as there's absolutely no evidence that you're anywhere near a city!
All in all, really enjoyable. Amazing price for a suite (around Y500 per night) and one of the better homestay-style places we've stayed in. Highly recommended.
