Khaolak Bayfront Resort Reviews

Loved out stay in Bayfront Resort! A very private beach, which we felt is one of the best in Khao Lak. The seaside bungalow offered a great vantage point and (of course) convenient access to the sand. There were some older wooden walkways that clearly could use some TLC, but service staff were super hospitable and friendly, and the main Khao Lak town ***** is just ten minutes by foot, or 100ish thb for a taxi. Slightly upgraded breakfast options (especially vegetarian friendly) would be appreciated for our next stay here, but overall we were very satisfied.

Price/value for this hotel is absolutely fine. A little bit outdated the amenities, room is clean and the staff friendly.

This place is horrible. In the middle of nowhere. The room is big but there is no table, no bath. You enter the room via patio door. No privacy as anyone can look into your big windows, so you have to use curtains 24/7. There are only 3 English speaking tv channels, all news. Breakfast is disgusting from sweet bread, poor quality ham to over salted noodles. Not only do not choose this hotel but think twice if you want to come to khaolak in first place

A beautiful, traditional and well-maintained resort set on the beautiful sunset beach. Felt exclusive. Plenty of sunbeds facing the sea or round the 2 well kept pools. Rooms were well kept and large, with all of them having decent views of jungle, pool or sea. Breakfast was always hot, tasty and varied. Service was friendly and very professional. Our only moan was the inconsiderate smokers who had no respect for non-smokers, whether it is in the breakfast area or around the pool. We will definitely return. We met a lovely couple called Jenny and Trevor on their way to their new life in Australia. We hope all is going well?

I got to the hotel and the lady at the reception seemed nice. She upgraded me to a better room which I didn’t expect but was happy about. I proceeded to explain to her that as a solo woman traveler I don’t need cleaning ladies coming in every day. They also had a clause stating they are not responsible for stuff missing from the room. She seemed confused at first but we came to the conclusion I will call when I need a cleaner to come by. In the following days I got woken up by the cleaning ladies for the next four days and every day I called them to tell them the same thing I told them in the beginning. In addition, the food I ate at the resort was terrible to say the least. The only good meal I had was the fish and mashed potatoes dish. Every time I went out to eat the staff would stare at me and giggle as if they were in preschool. As a solo traveler I am used to people not being used to seeing one, but this kind of behavior made me stop going to the resort restaurant. Going back to the food, when I ordered Caesar salad, I got a bug uncut chunk of green lettuce, dry big chunks of chicken, olives, some sort of fish, green paprika and croutons. Mind you, the menu stated the salad contains only chicken and croutons. On top of that, the room I was staying I guess had a bug problem because I had to kill off two cockroaches and sleep with mosquito repellent, even though I rarely opened the door at night when they could come in. Icing on the cake was my last day. I had two hours to kill before my taxi arrived and between my check out. The staff assured me I could take a shower near the reception after sun bathing. After I got out of the shower and was getting ready the lady at the reception (different one than in the beginning) started chatting me up unexpectedly. Keep in mind the staff have been stand-offish my whole stay there. I didn’t put that much thought into it and continued packing my belongings quickly to not keep the driver waiting. Everything went fine with the ride and all of my stuff were with me. Or so I thought. You see, when I got to the airport I noticed that my suncream was gone. I had a tube of a sunscreen stick and it was completely empty. I thought someone was either pulling a prank on me or my vision and hearing was detrimentally worse than I had thought. Then when I got home the next day (so today when I’m writing this review) I noticed the hundred Thai baht bills were gone. The coins, cards, they were all there. How do I know the cash is gone because the lady at the reception stole it? I had many hundred Thai baht bills in my wallet because I like to keep a bit cash just in case something happens. I exchange my money at my final destination and keep a bill or two for memory. The money was not significant but it’s enough for me to write this petty review. This resort is very well located and offers spectacular sunsets on the beach. It does not have a gym and the bed in our room turned out to be really hard. Two double-size beds were joined to make it huge, but it was quite uncomfortable as the joint was not filled and you could feel the springs in the bed. However, after reporting the issue, they provided us with a bed topping and the following night we had a good experience. It´s a luxury resort although luggage is not taken to the room. In summary, a good choice.

Great location on a lovely beach. Only 5 minutes into Khao Lak in a taxi (100bhts) or 150bhts for 4 people. Rooms were very spacious. The bed was very hard BUT ask reception and they will have a mattress topper put on straight away, this was much better. Bathrooms were a little dated but everything worked. Found it a little odd to have the wardrobes, kettle and fridge in the bathroom but they are in a cupboard so had no issues with it. The aircon kept the rooms super cool. Pools and bar were lovely, although it was a bit of a sunbed challenge to get a towel on while we were there. The massages in the hotel were super. All the staff were helpful, and seemed very happy We would most definitely go back there, a very relaxing, tranquil, peace of heaven

The sea water at this Resort's beach was poluted for several hours every day during our multiweek stay this spring. It seems that this and other resorrts in the vicinity had been discharging waste nearby. The ripe coconut fruits were hanging high on palms' tops just above the lounge chairs on this Resort's beachfront, posing a serious. safety hazard. No care to remove these at all. Resort was understaffed and this Resort Manager was very rude when you try ty to express your views about (many) obvious deficiencies. All in all this our stay in this Resort this Spring was a huge disapointment.

The staff is incredibly nice and helpful and provides 5-star quality service. The hotel location on the beach is perfect: stunning sunsets and wonderful relaxing days. Our room - on the ground floor and close to the swimming pools - was super clean, spacious and very comfortable – excellent WiFi. The restaurants offer tasty food. Overall, it would have been hard to ask for more or expect anything better! Thanks for such an enjoyable stay!! We will be back.

Bayfront lies on the far end off the beach, it has a lush garden and direct beach access. You can tell that this was build to be a high end resort, but time has chipped away at it.It,s the kind of place where problems are not dealt with proper, instead you see signs of quick fixes and temporary solutions that has become permanent. But it is clean, the pools are maintained and the staff is very helpful. The breakfast is standard, but the egg station is very good. This is a place to relax and chill on the beach, it won't blow you away, but it won't disappoint you.
