Cloudberry Cabin

We stayed at Deb and Jonathan’s treehouse for one night, part of their Cloudberry Cabins development. Superb in every way. Clean, comfortable and above all, quiet. Wished we could have stayed for longer. Would definitely recommend. Great communications from the host.

A delightfully pleasant stop as my first on a long trip back to Tennessee. Aside from being picturesque, the cabin was comfortable and well-supplied. Breakfast for the next morning was awaiting us in the refrigerator for warm/up when we were ready: marvelous crepes, yogurt, juices, etc.! Very, very luxurious and tasty. I sat on the porch at 3 am, hoping to see the auroras, but was satisfied by the beauty of millions of stars and a feeling of complete peace! What more could you want? Our hosts generously supplied firewood, but, as a city gal, I didn’t understand a wood stove. Fortunately, it wasn’t really cold enough to need the fire,but it would have been great, had we been there another night. All in all, one of the nicest places I stayed during a 2-1/2 month visit in Alaska!

We stayed in this property for one night on a 27-day road trip that included 7 days in Alaska. I booked this site on-line about two months before we left on the trip. Booking was easy and the property contacted me quickly after with instructions on how to find the cabin and asked whether I needed anything special for my stay. With the directions, the cabin was easy to find. Sometimes it becomes immediately apparent that the property offers less than was described. The opposite is the case with Cloudberry Cabin. This is a spacious unit with two queen beds, bedding that is adaptable to temperature conditions, a four-person work/dining table with chairs, a window bench, full kitchen, full size refrigerator, wood burning heating stove, propane heating, a large shower in the spacious bathroom, carpeting around the beds, and very nice natural wood flooring. One could easily cook meals here since there is a four-burner range with oven. There is a full-service grocery store in Tok that can supply anything you would need to prepare your own meals. Restaurants are available in Tok as well. The cabin is constructed from logs. The interior finish quality is very good. Everything worked well. This stay far exceeded my expectations. The price was very reasonable given this was high season for tourism in Alaska. I highly recommend this property.

The accommodation was okay. Bathroom walls don’t reach the ceiling so there is little privacy. Was never greeted or even acknowledged by staff. Provided breakfast was packaged crepes filled with pure cream cheese and yucky jam. Barfy. And now, well over six weeks after our stay, I have an additional charge on my credit card - I had paid in full months before our stay. I contacted Cloudberry and they have not had the courtesy to respond. I’m disputing the charge with my credit card company.

My family stayed in the Ptarmigan treehouse! It was our favorite place we stayed while in Alaska! It was clean, quiet, and breakfast was delicious. The host, Deb, was gracious and helpful. My husband and I enjoyed a nice walk on the trail near the cabin. We would definitely recommend staying here and will stay here again if we are in Tok!
