The Blue House B&B

When we arrived (myself/my mum/ and my 3 children) I wasn't able to get in the front door and nobody was answering for around 10 minutes. I found the number on my emails and phoned them so someone could let us in. We could instantly smell something off and it seemed really messy when I looked down the stairs. When we got in we were taken to the very top floor where there were 2 bedrooms and a bathroom (on the booking I paid for 1 room for 5 people) luckily I had my mum with me to stay with one of the kids so I could stay with the other two, there wasn't a separate door to the rest of the house so anyone could have walked up and in the rooms if they weren't locked. When we put our bags down we were then asked if we were ok with cats as she has cats in the house - this isn't great as myself and one of the children are allergic to cats and my mum doesn't do well with animals. This was not stated on the booking! This all made us feel quite uncomfortable especially as the area itself felt quite rough - when we turned up there were police and ambulances around and people hanging around their doorways smoking and drinking all day. Further to checking around the room we noticed how dirty it was especially the carpets and the beds were so uncomfortable. The blankets were so thin it was absolutely freezing. My youngest daughter is autistic and she kept saying she didn't feel safe there so she didn't sleep well either. These sort of thingA isn't something I would expect when I paid £85 for one night 4pm-10am. However the toilet room and shower was nice and clean thankfully. Unfortunately it ruined the weekend a little bit so I'm glad we didn't have to stay for very long but I won't be returning again.

Such a lovely bed and breakfast. The host was so welcoming, the family room is all of the top floor. The beds and rooms were so cosy it is a home from home. Breakfast was continental and so delicious. The B&B is very close to the centre of town. 100% recommend!

We stayed in the pineapple room, which was a beautifully decorated room at the front of the house. The host was very lovely and welcoming and made us feel right at home. We shared the bathroom with another room, but it was kept spotlessly clean so that wasn't a problem for us. The location is very good, it's only a short walk to the centre of town.

Clean and tidy house, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, modern bathroom, friendly staff. The main street is only a few minutes away and a small carpark is only around the corner. We definitely recommend this place.
