The location of the hotel is both an advantage and a disadvantage. The advantage is that the hotel is located on a mountain, with its own ski resort and beautiful scenery on the top of the mountain. The disadvantage is that transportation is not very convenient on the mountain, but it is no problem for people who drive by themselves. We drove ourselves. We left the car in the hotel parking lot, and we could walk directly into the hotel from the parking lot, which was very convenient. As soon as I walked into the hotel, I was attracted by the scenery of the hotel's floor-to-ceiling glass. The vast white snow outside the window was very spectacular. Before check-in, the staff was very enthusiastic to help us carry our luggage, and then took me to the lobby to sit and wait. During the process, I was given a welcome drink, which tasted very good. The whole check-in process was also very fast. The husband forgot to bring cigarettes. , Fortunately, the hotel has its own store where you can buy various daily necessities. The hotel has an outdoor hot spring, a ski resort, and various snow sports. We have tried them all in the past two days. It is a very relaxing hotel. It also has a massage and a spa. Unfortunately, we can't even get an appointment for a massage. This hotel is very suitable for families and families. The only thing I have to pick about is that their breakfast is not very tasty. The Japanese breakfast is better than the Western breakfast, but the curry rice in their room service is very good. I think staying in a hotel like this at this price is already very cost-effective👍🏻I will stay here again next time.

We decided to spend one night in Tōya-ko on our way down to Hakodate and It was definitely worth it. Not only because of the beautiful scenery but also thanks to this hotel. It is definitely an old hotel, but in my opinion, it only added to the ,”traditional Japanese” vibe of the place. The room was very spacious for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids, and it was such a pleasant change to other new and modern yet very tiny hotels we normally stay at. Breakfast was excellent, with so many traditional dishes to choose from. And the onsen right in the hotel is another big plus. I'm not a huge fan of the onsen myself, but I absolutely loved the cave looking onsen and the one located outside. The whole hotel kind of reminded me of Ryokan. But what is hands downs the best about the place, is the view you get from your room, which is spectacular. The view of the lake Tōya and Mt Yōtei is simply breathtaking.  

　Go Toキャンペーンが延期となり、札幌近くで静かに年末年始を過ごせるホテルとしてこちらにしました。 　洞爺湖温泉の湖を挟んでほぼ反対側にありますから、本当に静かに寛げました。周辺にはコンビニも一軒だけしかなく、観光客もほとんどいません。 　だからこそ新年の初日の出を部屋風呂から見たいと考えたのも理由の一つでした。 　今年は数十年ぶりの寒波が来ており、札幌も吹雪のようでした。太平洋側に近い洞爺湖で、雲が流れましたが、私は大浴場の露天風呂から初日の出を見ることができました。 　TripAdvisorでのホテルの口コミによると部屋付き露天風呂で、評価が分かれていました。確かに外から見えますが、まず人のいない寒村ということ、湯着が用意してあることで大丈夫かと思います。それよりも寒気の夜に冷たい月を眺めながらの入浴は別格の気分を味わえました。 　海外資本のホテルなので、日本の温泉ホテルとは違うことを予め理解しておくと、リラックスできて素晴らしいです。来年の年越しもここで過ごしたいと考えています。 良い点：①スタッフのホスピタリティー、日本人スタッフが増え、適度な距離感が素晴らしく感じました。私たちは2泊しましたが、スタッフの気持ちの伝わる言葉かけに気持ちが和らぎました。 ②食事はディナー2泊とも和食でした。出汁のきいた味がとても美味しかったです。メインの道産牛は昨年秋にニセコヒルトンでいただいたものと同レベルの美味しさでした。札幌の円山近辺だと10,000円前後のコースに値します。 　朝食バイキングはるほどです。 ③大浴場の大きな窓と湯温のぬるさが、のんびりと洞爺湖の風景を楽しめました。 ④冬だとニセコにもルスツにも近い(冬の中山峠はスリップ事故が恐いので)です。どちらもスキーシーズンに2食付きでこの値段では、泊まれないです。 改善点：①大浴場へ行くには、一度、屋外に出るのと脱衣場が寒かったです。寒波のせいもあるでしょうが、吹雪いた夜に浴衣は厳しいです。 ②北海道の温泉ホテルに多いのが、レストランもスリッパ可という点はいかがでしょうか？浴衣で行きたいという方もいらっしゃるでしょうが、ディナーはせっかくの雰囲気が残念です。 このクラスのシティホテルでは、あり得ないのでしょうから。 ③部屋のレイアウトとして、ベッドの前に洗面台があるのは、日本人は慣れないかもしれません。特に私たちはトリプルベッドでしたので、冬の連泊だとスキーウェアでクローゼットも小さいことから手狭でした。 　それでも総じて、食事、温泉、レストランやバー、スタッフのホスピタリティーと再訪したいリーズナブルなディナーズ・ホテルです。

When I arrived at the hotel, I was surprised to find a welcome drink and sake, but it was delicious. The room also had a massage machine, which was very useful to get rid of the tiredness of driving. The young man Nakai was very polite and cheerful, and I felt calm. Middle 々 While there is no pet OK hotel, this hotel was a time when my dog was staying with me, so there was a dock run and I couldn't get a family tour group 々. I had reservations for 2 rooms for a group of five for 3D2N on the 3rd week of December 2022. While the property is well kept and ground were impeccable, the check-in process is the worst experience I ever had in all my stays with the Marriott group of hotels since the 90s. It took an hour & 15 min to check-in, all because of some cultural pride of not finding the right people to do the job right from onset: at the drop off at the bellhop to billing at the frontdesk. The bellhop was a tall young Japanese lady who could not speak English at all. I was attempting to walk to the frontdesk as there were 2 coaches off loading guests simultaneously & I did not want to be caught with this large group of ten or more tourists. She refused not once but thrice with her out stretched arms to stop us from proceeding to the frontdesk with our luggage. Apparently, on highsight, she thought we were part of the other group & wanted to contain and corral our luggages. I gave up 😖 & regretfully let her & her co-workers take our 7 pieces of luggage. At the check-in, a young male bellhop assigned us to a senior looking male frontdesk staff who could not speak or understand English very well. It took him a while to get the paperwork done & when presenting the bill to be paid up full, it did not match the reservation booking which was a significant amount. It dragged on for another 20 min going back & forth with him. Using google translator helped a bit but again he could not reconcile the booking … I had to demand for our check-in to be handled by someone who could speak English but he refused & continue trying to communicate to me in his poor English. I had to raise my voice for help; kept asking him to let another senior member to assist us. Which caught some attention eventually. Fortunately, a young French lady who speaks Japanese & English, ironically was assigned to Japanese guests 🙄 came to our rescue. By this time, 45 min has elapsed, my family by then discovered our luggage has gone missing ! The silly bellhop tall Japanese lady who cannot speak English had grouped our bags with the larger group. She wanted to do her job well BUT did not understand there we were not part of the other group 😡 So silly way to run a simple hotel operation. Any attempts to ask any on the non-speaking Japanese staff to get an English speaking failed. It had to do with some silly cultural pride of not being competent to do their job that created this stubbornness and refusal to get an English speaking staff. Why 2-star rating instead of 1-star only because the English speaking French lady staff helped me to bring the billing attention to the duty manager who apologized for the delay & he resolved the billing issue eventually. Take note, I just stayed at The Westin Las Vegas a month ago in November & it took less than 5 min to check-in. What a stark contrast between this Westin Rusutsu & Westin Las Vegas. What a beautiful cabin, the room is so big, and there is a big bathtub for soaking, the room is not air-conditioned, my stay in August is very cold at night, really don’t need air-conditioning, but be aware that there are a lot of bugs because of the mountains Worm, can't open the terrace, the room can be seen to Lake Toya fireworks but there are few fireworks, so we all left to see

Clean dated traditional Japanese hot spring hotel with traditional Japanese fine dinning dinner and breakfast. Our room comes with lake view, quiet and beautiful. Food and service was good. No complaint since the price was really cheap. Always see someone complaining the traditional Japanese hot spring hotels are dated, PLEASE ask yourself how much you pay. The price includes fine dinning. It's about quality of food, NOT quantity. Can you get a hotel room with fine dinning of same quality of food with the same price anywhere else? This is a very unfair comment to this hotel. The rule of the game never changes: You have to pay for quality.

We stayed for a week at villa Rusutsu over the Christmas period. The cabins are located about 1.5km from the two main ski fields in Rusutsu, with free transfers provided in the morning, late afternoon and night. The villas themselves are charming cedar cabins, quite spacious, and with plenty of heating. Beds are comfortable, water temperature and pressure is great, and there is plenty of light. The only thing to be aware of is that the cabins are ”duplex-style”, ie, there is a common wall separating you from your neighbours. Sound travels *very* easily through the walls, so be aware of your noise at night, pack some ear plugs, and hopefully you are paired with similar travelers (e.g. families next to families, young people next to young people etc). In addition to the cabins, there is a main lodge and a sento (public bath). The bath is large, hot and lovely. Everything was always spotless, which is no mean feat with a small staff and snow everywhere! Breakfast is included in accommodation costs and is a small but delicious continental buffet and a hot choice of western or Japanese style food. You can also pre order dinners from the restaurants, which are Japanese style hot pots. These are large, and very delicious. Food on the whole was fantastic, and the bar is also reasonably priced. The highlight of Villa Rusutsu is the staff. Monique, Alex, Sherry, Ryoji-san and others are so friendly and helpful. Nothing was ever a problem for the staff, they were responsive and friendly, happy to provide tips and make restaurant bookings. It's really nice to feel you can rely staff to help you, and they really helped make the trip.

Hotel fill with activities for all ages. We went in a big family group of 14 pax ranging from age 9 till 80 and everyone loved Toya Sun Palace. Kids and teens enjoyed the wave pool in the water park where there were Stingray and Flamingo buoys to use free of charge and during the time of our stay there were 6 slides opened. However there was additional one bigger slide which required to pay a 500 yen extra if we’d like to use and they would give us a 4-6 pax buoy to slide down and this 500 yen extra was for 50 minutes. The place that our 6 kids (9-18 years old) enjoyed the most was the Game Center Arcade with variety of games for everyone. A big thank to the Japanese man who was on duty the night of our stay (12/4/2023), he was very kind and very generous and because of him we had the best experience ever in playing games at the game arcade. Sorry we didn’t catch his name. The onsen here was very good especially the outdoor onsen where we could enjoy the onsen while over looking at the beautiful Lake Toya. We stayed in both a Japanese Modern and a Western Modern and the only difference between them was the Tatami vs Carpet floors. Rooms were standard Japanese style room and were big enough for 3 in each room. Dinner buffet was good with an all you can eat Hagandaz ice cream and we all loved there Japanese steam eeg (ไข่ตุ๋น). And for breakfast buffet the food was ok for me since they didn’t provide yoghurt and not many varieties of vegetables salads however we were stunned by the beauty of Lake Toya scenery. Anyway my son and daughter loved Toya Sun Palace so much that they wish to visit again soon. We really enjoyed onsen and the Game Center plus a Ping Pong room so much and it was an unforgettable experience for all of us. Thank you Toya Sun Palace ❤️

Nice stylish condo-styled hotel with full in room facilities (cooking, washing machines, dryer etc) which is really gd for long stay. Suites are big & spacious, awesomely clean & superd decor. Onsen is decent & gd for a quick dip but a little small if compared to noborebetsu ones. Ski area is outstanding with ample storage for ski gear. Truly ski in/ski out resort if u can ski wel as you can hit the slopes once you're all geared up. For beginner, u hv to carry your ski gear & walk down the slopes or walk indoor cutting thru the connected walkway to the main rusutsu hotel. Conclusion, will love to stay here again & for longer duration...😀
