Hotel Palazzo Giovanelli e Gran Canal

We have just returned from a 2-night stay at this lovely hotel. It is well positioned for all the sights and there is a public water taxi stop next to the front of the hotel. The staff make all the difference. Valentino and another young man, whose name I didn’t get, were on reception for the 2 nights we were there. They didn’t stay behind the desk but came out and circulated and were engaging with all the customers, genuinely interested in what everyone had been doing. As front of house, they were outstanding. We had a side canal view. We paid a premium and being only 5’2” if I leant out, with my husband holding my ankles, I could see the Grand Canal. Not sure I would go for this option again. The room itself was small but very comfortable. We both slept very well. The only ****** was breakfast. I would like this to be self-service. On entering the breakfast room, we were advised that we had to have table service we were automatically given some bread rolls and croissants on the table. I like to have a look and then choose my own size portions, normally small. I observed that several people seemed to want to do self-service, but this wasn’t an option. A lot of rolls and croissants weren’t used as not everyone wanted them and I assume went to the bin. Also I just like to be left to do my own thing at breakfast. Table service for tea and coffee would be good. Unfortunately, this is something that would put me off using the hotel again. The only other small issue for me is the individual shampoo etc in the bathroom. I much prefer refillable dispensers which create far less plastic waste.

A beautiful hotel in the very centre of Venice. Stopped for 2 nights. Great breakfasts. Organized a boat tour around the city. Come back in a year. The minus - a big bed in the room consisted of two small, they are disconnected)
Hotel Cà Zusto Venezia

I loved everything about the hotel. The location is closer to the train station. This made it easier to access and I did not have to drag my luggage across the city! The staff was personable and professional. My room was clean, warm and cozy and the breakfast was better than any hotel I have stayed at in the US. I will return the next time I am in Venice!

Good place: The location is super good, St. Mark's Square is the hotel by boat, and it is convenient to go anywhere by boat. The room is also very large, breakfast is OK, the balcony view of the reservation is also very beautiful, there is a happy hour every afternoon. Bad place: Ctrip booking pictures are deceptive. The scenery of the standard double room is the two pictures I sent out. It can be said that there is no scenery at all. If someone wants to book a good view, don't book a standard double room. Others' Ctrip photos are cheated! The hotel also arranged room 301 on the 3rd floor. Next to a balcony public bar toilet, a bit disgusting. Hotel for more than 3,000 nights, if it is this scenery and environment. Still persuade everyone to consider more.

The train station and the bus station are very close in the hotel, but it is quiet at night and does not affect the rest at all. The rooms are thoughtful in design, the front desk staff is very welcoming, and the breakfast is rich. Will choose this next time.
