I arrived in Vienna early in the morning so I reserved a room for that day and 2 more nights. That way I could take a nap and start adjusting to the new time zone. The taxi driver dropped me off at the bus stop on Schadekgasse and it took me a few minutes wandering around looking for the entrance which is on a side street, Chwallagasse. The room was exactly what I needed. Everything was clean and the room temperature was just right. The bathroom was on the small side and not much room to store toiletries. I was glad I brought my own soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. Same as the next hotel I was at. Don't expect European hotels to have a bunch of amenities. There's a grocery store half a block away and all sorts of other shops and restaurants close by for whatever you may need. The room was totally quiet - I never heard exterior noise. The price per night was a great value compared to more centrally-located hotels. It took me 20-30 minutes to walk to the center city and I took different paths to see more of the city. Google Maps works well for walkers and for public transportation. If you don't want to walk, just hop on a bus.

Io e il mio ragazzo abbiamo deciso di visitare Vienna durante il periodo natalizio (bellissima!!) e per le recensioni abbiamo scelto questo B&b. Mai scelta più azzeccata! Posizione ottima, accanto alla metro, su uno dei corsi principali di Vienna pieno di negozi, pulizia assoluta ma sopratutto gentilezza della proprietaria più unica che rara. Siamo stati trattati benissimo e semmai torneremo a Vienna, SICURAMENTE torneremo qui.

We had a wonderful short stay in Vienna. Our host Tina was amazing as she explained the area in detail including transportation to all our favourite destinations and delightful restaurant experiences. The area is very walkable and close to great restaurants and shopping. Very easy to get on the train just steps from the apartment and head to any destination in the city centre. When my husband fell ill, Tina provided us with the information to access a great private medical clinic not far away. We also were able to leave extra baggage as we travelled to Salzburg for a weekend. Thanks Tina for everything!!

I know why Rick Steves recommends
Tina was very friendly and provided information on places to go. The room was clean and quiet and very close to the metro, shopping and Cafe Ritter and had a private bath. She was available when ever we needed something and for a very reasonable price did our laundry. Highly recommend.
