Brand new hotel, very well located, lovely staff and a variety of choices for breakfast. It is very close to a department store (El Corte Inglés), a subway station and few attractions. Microwave and mini fridge is also available. Definitely, I will come back.

Park Hotel Porto Gaia

We stayed at this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis for 7 nights. The hotel was modern and clean, staff were very helpful. The room was cleaned daily and products restocked. The location was perfect for us as situated close to motorway. We had a hire car for the week so the hotel car park was great for us. Burger King was next door so handy if wanted a quick coffee day or night. The hotel does have a bar. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, alongside a full continental selection. I recommend this hotel, we would certainly stay there again.
Douro Riverside Apartments

The place had an incredible view of the Duoro river, with walking distance to upper and lower Porto, which were unbeatable. The unit also came with its own parking spot few streets down the main building, which is rare to find in Porto. However, the entrance to the apartment is very dangerous as it requires 3 flights of narrow and uneven stairs. There was also a very unpleasant odor in the hallway leading to the apartment, with random ikea bags lined up in the staircase. The apartment itself is very clean, however; it’s very small and tight, which was noticed in the bedroom as the bed barely fit into the room. The bathroom itself required some maintained & attention, as it appeared to have some black mold in the shower or “black silicone” which was mentioned to us by the owner after we shared our concerns reaching to him on a platform. There was also a very unpleasant sewerage smell all throughout the unit, which is possibly from the bathroom pipes. When we reached out to the owner in regards to our concerns after our stay, we were informed that these apartments and building is old due to Porto history and not up to “American” standards. In our opinion, the only good thing about this apartment was view and location. It wasn’t a warm or a welcoming place.
The House of Sandeman

Overall, this was a great short stay. I enjoyed the aesthetic of the hostel, it was adorable and welcoming. It is more of a calm hostel than a social hostel which I didn't mind for my short stay. I stayed in a 14-bed female dorm for one night and it was okay. The only issue I experienced here was my locker situation, a few of the lockers seemed to be broken and were difficult to use with a code, an option to use one with my padlock would have been nice. Other than that no complaints and would suggest this hostel to other solo female travelers!

In general, the room is clean and nothing more, but the rooms are rather ”tired”. No slippers / bathrobes - and although this is the norm for a three-star hotel, nevertheless, the absence of even a soap dish for bar soap provided by the hotel itself is already interesting) The shower cabin was leaking, we had to wipe the formed puddles with towels. At the junction of the cabin with ceramic tiles, black mold is possible, black plaque is possible, but most likely mold. In Portugal, the presence of mold is like snow in Russia in winter - for granted) But the water pressure in the shower was such that at least do yourself a hydromassage - I really liked it)) The mattress is quite hard, those who have a sore back are unlikely to appreciate it, but massive comrades will be very comfortable, the mattress practically does not slip. There is a kettle and cardboard cups in the room which is a big plus. For those who are interested - TV catches almost all possible channels. Breakfast is typical European: yoghurts, muesli, sliced cheeses and ham, bread. sweet buns and pastries, boiled eggs, fruits, tea and coffee. Nothing special but you won't leave hungry. The cost of breakfast is 18 euros for two.
