Villa Sol

The accommodation is beautiful! The view is to die for and it was like waking up in paradise. The decor in the room is stunning and everything is clean and tasteful. Would definitely love to return to this romantic setting.

Be careful - the pool was not available because it was netted up & we asked several times for the net to be removed to be told “remove it yourself” Noisy main road parallel to accommodation. Lots of stairs to negotiate if garden suite - a hassle with bags & even for us very exhausting. No personal intro from owner text only although she did agree for us to check in earlier than 2pm

This accommodation exceeded our expectations! It was very clean updated and the staff was amazing to work with!!

We were on a trip of a life time to South Africa by following the route from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. One of our stop overs was in Wilderness where we were booked in to the Villa Sol Hotel. We arrived there after a long drive & the reception we had on arrival was very unsupportive & lacked any transfer of information of the location. I have to say the room we stayed in was absolutely brilliant but the reception on arrival & during our stay was very poor. The Villa stated it had a pool & a bar but there was no way these were available for us. The pool had netting over it & the bar area looked like a private area for the owners. Very disappointing. But the most disappointing aspect of our stay was the lack of breakfast or breakfast vouchers so we had to go & search for breakfast without any support from the owners of the property. Whilst this was very disappointing the cost of food in SA is very cheap so we didn't feel too bad finding our own places to eat but the fact we were not given vouchers was in my opinion very shoddy. So I would not recommend this stop over because of what they state is available in the hotel but isn't & the lack of breakfast vouchers.

While making our way across the garden route we made a booking for a few nights at Villa Sol. Making the arraignment , communication etc was all good since it was all done in advance before our stay. Room setup was great, everything we needed was available on arrival. A few things I should mention that was not available like they usual are at the guest houses in the area from Gqeberha up the garden route... There was no bottled water in the room, milk and rusks were not re filled on a daily. We where checked in for 4 days imagine it was 10. The room was however cleaned very well, bins cleaned, and fresh towels were provided by the cleaning crew which was great. We did not see any Host or hostesses to on check out but was handed the keys by the hostess upon arrival. The room below us did not know know how to use inside voices which was annoying. The little things if you know what I mean. Room 5 is at the very top. This means from your parking spot there is 3 flight of stairs to get to your room. Also the ceilings in this room is very low, I hit my head a few times before getting used to the height lol. All in all decent stay. The sliding doors are double glazed and the road r=noise was early noticeable to be honest. Earplugs were also provided on arrival just incase which we dd not need to use. Nice setup, great location. Room was it it is on the website. We will see if we will give it another go, maybe the experience will be abit different second time around but will be sure to update once we do.
