Our experience at the Mangrove Beach Corendon Curacao by Hilton Hotel was disappointing in many ways. Despite the expectation generated by the association with the Hilton brand, the service and customer care left much to be desired.
From the beginning, we encountered frustrating situations. We arrived 10 minutes late for a restaurant reservation due to a mishap with our two young daughters, and despite the restaurant being empty, we were unsympathetic to the indifferent treatment we received during our stay.
The buffet service was inconsistent, with food running out before closing time and staff inattentive to guest needs. On several occasions, our room was not cleaned properly, with towels missing and even a dirty diaper left in the trash can for days.
The lack of organization was also evident. We booked an excursion at the hotel that was cancelled without warning or explanation, resulting in great disappointment for our daughters.
As for meals, ice was in short supply, drinks were often served warm, and on several occasions the main restaurant ran out of glasses during dinner, leading to long waits and inconveniences among diners.
The pool bar ran out of piña coladas mid-afternoon, and one day they did not have this drink available at all. Room cleaning service was inconsistent, and on one occasion our room was not serviced despite notification of our departure.
The only positive aspects of our stay were the quality of the drinks and food in the restaurants, as well as the excellent water park which offers fun for all ages.
