I will consider going there again in the future. It is very suitable for a single person, a young couple, or a family of three with children. If breakfast is included, breakfast starts at 7:30, and lunch and dinner can also be booked. In winter, it is very comfortable to have a radiator just like other places. The only thing is that when using water, you need to turn on the faucet in advance and wait for the water to heat up. It should be a warm family-style hotel managed by a family. The location is excellent, right next to the ski slopes.

Toyoko Inn is located a few minutes walk from Yamagata Station. It is a safe and stable Toyoko Inn, and the facilities are the same as usual. I had a comfortable stay with no issues with cleanliness. There were not many restaurants in Shui, but there were many if you went to the other side of the station. This is a safe and comfortable accommodation that we can recommend.

The check-in time was 3 o'clock, but I arrived 25 minutes early, so I thought I'd just check in, but when I entered, I was told that it would start at 3 o'clock and was kicked out.I was asked to come back after 3 o'clock.This is the first time this has happened to me. is. Many hotels usually let you wait in the lobby or let you enter if you are ready. I stayed for several nights, but at first I was told that the fee would be paid at the time of check-out, but when I returned on the second day, I was suddenly asked to pay the fee.And when I entered the parking lot, there were about 50 customers coming today, so I stopped. All of the staff members I asked were female, but the male staff were very polite and nice, and the room was very clean and nice. I'm disappointed because the reviews have been good recently. I stayed with breakfast included, and the breakfast was delicious. I would like to eat dinner if I have a chance.

📍 Location: It is about 5 minutes walk from the station, which is very convenient. 🤵🏻 Service: Free shuttle service from the Tibetan King Hot Spring Bus Terminal to the hotel, but the shift is sparse and an appointment is required three days ago. 🏠 Room: Japanese-style room (one berth and two meals) HKD1931 + hot spring tax 300 Advantages: 🤩 Full floor is paved with tatami floors, so you can wear slippers, you can wear the new socks provided by the hotel or walk barefoot all the hotel, there is a large shared space, free tea, 😍 massage chairs and board games, You can enjoy the sunset at dusk. The room is very large, there is a staircase at the door, equipped with a TV, a mini refrigerator, a dressing table and a separate toilet. In the evening, there will be staff-Japanese-style beds, and the whole is very strong with retro Japanese elements. Disadvantages: There is no elevator, the staff will help take the luggage upstairs, but they will not speak English, and they will not take the initiative to give free to the attached hot springs, which is generally for foreign tourists. In addition, the hotel is too big, the corridor is exactly the same, it is easy to get lost in the middle. GGuest UserWe arrived at Mt Zao in the middle of Our Epic Six Week Trip To Japan, during which we stayed in nine different hotels. This room was amongst my favourites. The staff largely didn't speak English and were not helpful. We had a stand off at the restaurant as we didn't understand that we couldn't dine at there without having made a booking far in advance. After this was explained, there was no apology or suggestions for alternative dining options. There are limited dining options in Zao. We ate at the Soup Curry place one night and a cute sushi joint another night. On the last night we ended up getting an ebiken bento box from the local L****ns as nothing was open. We did book breakfast each morning and that was fantastic. Lots of Japanese and Western options and it seemed like the food had all been prepared onsite. The hotel is very pretty, with a lovely view of the forest from the lobby. There is a common room with free coffee, tea and ice creams. People were pretty friendly in there. The hotel is the furthest from the 'town' but the closest to the ski lift and to the 'sulfurous' onsen. The ski lift is about 50 metres from the hotel and the ride up and down is spectacular. I thought the onsen was top notch. The sulfurous onsen outside has milky water that is supposed to be good for your complexion. It was fun having an onsen with snow all around. We stayed in the Western style room - it was spacious and well appointed. Our little lounge area had a beautiful view of pine trees and lots of snow. There was also a similar view from the luxurious bath tub (but I didn't use that tub as the onsen was so good.) The beds in our room were very hard. Our room also had a massage chair which I used for hours a time. It was a bit of a trek getting to Mt Zao. The hotel staff weren't very helpful with organising buses but they did drop us off at the bus stop early in the morning and we were picked up on our day of arrival. I know that the staff weren't friendly to us because of the language barrier, which is a shame because everyone should enjoy this venue. I would stay here again for sure. Next time we'll book the dinner set. It did smell amazing ! --

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is convenient. It takes about 30 minutes by bus from Yamagata Train Station to the hot spring hotel. When I was worried about carrying large luggage to the hotel, I saw the Shuttle Bus picked up by the hotel staff as soon as I got off the bus. I was really pleasantly surprised. In addition, the hotel is only a 10-minute walk away from the ski lift station. If you don’t want to go to the ski resort, the hotel has Shuttle Bus every morning and afternoon to arrange transfers. Just pay attention to the timetable. The hotel actually has a variety of room types, but the room we booked is on the first floor. The room on the first floor is set in the west building. There is no elevator to reach the room. It is quite difficult to carry large luggage to the room. There is no separate toilet and bathroom in the room. The decoration is a bit dilapidated, and the public toilets are small in size. If they are obese, they can’t get in at all. As there was no room category to choose from when booking, I felt a little overwhelmed when I arrived at the store. The room we booked includes 1 night and 2 meals. The food is delicious and exquisite. After staying for 4 consecutive days, the food is different every day. With the value of our reservation, the price is really high. The hotel service is first-rate. During the time, my friend slipped and broke her ankle bone in the parking lot. The hotel staff immediately called her ambulance to the hospital. After she was discharged from the hospital, she also carefully arranged wheelchair transportation. At the same time, we arranged for friends to stay on the elevator floor and have separate toilets for free. Room. Since friends need to return to Hong Kong for medical treatment early, the hotel specially arranges vehicles to be sent to Yamagata Airport (the traffic is of course charged, but the price is very reasonable), so that friends can feel at ease during the process. I would like to express my sincere thanks to every employee of the hotel for their enthusiasm and care, and fully appreciate the high-quality service level and the strong human touch. As for the open-air hot springs, they may be closed due to bad weather, and there are free massage chairs in the bathroom for free use by customers. Compared with other hot spring hotels, most of the massage chairs are made of materials, and they feel generous and considerate and worth recommending.

TTeoGeraldA wonderful place to stay in. The service was fantastic. The room was huge, much too large for just a solo traveler like me but it would have been perfect if I had brought my wife and child along. The onsen quality was great, albeit the fittings at the shower area were a bit old. The food was hands down amazing and featured great local produce. Honestly there was too much for one person to finish! What I especially liked was that they had a separate room on the first floor where if it was too early for you to check in, you could drop your luggage off, change, and then grab your gear and head to the slopes. Same thing if you intend to charge the slopes a bit more on your last day, just leave your stuff in the storage room, hit the slopes, come back and change out, hit the onsen for the last time, then go off. Definitely recommending this place to my friends visiting Zao.

This place is on the hill which means you will not want to walk by your own in winter because of the slippery Mountain path. But in other hand it is really convenient because they provide shuttle bus to bus station or cable car station. And there is a ski place just in front of the hotel, you can borrow the equipments from hotel.

GGuest UserThe location is good. Room is decent equipped with heater that I think is time to replace seems not working very well. The breakfast and dinner especially is very worth n nice. First night we had pork shabu shabu n second night lamb BBQ. The staffs in restaurants r friendly n good, especially the old uncle n Philippo lady . Can see all the local staffs sort of rely or keep letting the lady work only as she speak english. In other words, a bit taking advantage of her. onsen is also nice especially the outdoor with trees n snow feel. The front desk staffs r very bad. There is one young guy that just stand there and when I carry my little girl with one hand while another hand pushing luggage where I need to push the entrance door. During check in, even the philipino girl helped to push the luggage inside while the same guy just stand there n look. Another more serious attitude guy was the older shorter guy with mole on his face, I parked my car in front as there was no parking didn't know is the hotel's van lot, the guy spoke with to remove the car like scolding n yelling at me. Super bad attitude. Lastly the air filter in the room, the cleaning standard operating procedure should include cleaning the water tank n it's surrounding. Looks very dirty with mold. Overall is worth your money n experience just some negative experiences by some bad staffs. Not missing another issue is the smoking room, is the exactly at the entrance n next to the welcome drinks sofa (though with ventilation n dedicated room but still can smell the smoke)

CCHOONTECKSpacious for me. Although a bit old it good conditions. Only issue is thar the aircon it either on or off and it pretty warm so for late autumn and winter it is alright. Breakfast is either Japanese or western and the lounge is cosy. The carpark is a multi storey carpark west of the hotel so to drive past the building and anticlockwise. Good deal when I book it for 1 night. There a family mart right below.

GGuest UserIt was a stay on the tour. The room was wide 々 in a Japanese room, and the futon was already laid, and there was no entrance and exit of Nakai, so I was able to relax. The whole hotel is Showa chick, or the front door is lined up with slippers, or the decoration is everywhere, and it feels like an old good age. The public bath was sulfur, the Karan and the mirror were corroded and a little black, and the open-air bath had no washing place, but the hot water was very good.

All hotel staffs are polite and can communicate in simple English
There is a room for skis near the hotel door
But the hot spring female soup is so fine
I will stay again if I go to Zao

GGuest UserI visited with my children on weekdays in June. On that day, we were able to use it very freely because we were the only customers. The impression is that the building is carefully and beautifully used. The restroom was not in the room and was shared, but it was clean and there was no particular stress. (Because there were no other customers) The landlady was kind and talked to the children many times, so it was comfortable even with children. I was able to eat well from the morning, and he told me, ”There are many twin cherries this year 🍒.” I saw twin cherries for the first time, but they were delicious 😋 I arrived at the Shinkansen late at night and was scheduled to leave at 9 o'clock in the morning, so the location was convenient and helpful.

GGuest UserThe minor problem is that the door lock is very difficult to be unlocked. There is instruction to turn counter clockwise but it looks like sometimes work sometimes don’t work. Otherwise excellent.
