Hotels Near Bunar in Zagreb

We tried different accommodations in Zagreb, but we liked the newly opened art'otel Zagreb the best. It has a great, enveloping atmosphere, also thanks to the friendliness, competence and presence of the staff. A successful design concept - a sophisticated mix of design and art - consistently runs through the entire hotel. Also the rooms and bathrooms (!). Simply great! The rich and fresh breakfast buffet, supplemented by an extra menu, is well prepared and really delicious. For relaxation there is a spa area with sauna and pool (which we used several times) and the bar. Everything is super clean and well maintained. Coming soon there will also be a promising restaurant and a rooftop bar with views of Zagreb. We're already looking forward to the next time!

The only thing good about this small hotel is the location and the hot shower. Everything else was not as expected from such high review ratings! I came a with a friend, we booked separate rooms at the same time and price. When we got to the hotel we each were given very different rooms. I got to the hotel first and asked for a room on a high floor with a view. Lady at check in said it wasn't possible as the hotel was full. A few minutes later my friend arrived and got a lovely room on the top floor with windows and lots of sunlight. Meanwhile I am in a dark room on a lower floor with no light or view and a balcony that is a joke. There was only one bath towel and a hand towel on the first day, the next day the same but one face cloth added, third day two complete sets of towels but no face cloth. I didn't need or want to have the towels changed every day! There was a useless kitchenette in the corner. No microwave and no dish towels or paper towels. There was a bottle of Coke and water in the mini fridge but it was not clear if it was supposed to be there. The mini fridge in my friend's room had a few more beverages in it and a price list, but there was no price list in my room. The temperature and fan control in my room never worked and the instructions given in the room notes were not clear. You also needed to read the instructions to get the TV channels, it wasn't just click on and watch. There was a robe in my room but no tissues or note pad and pen. The staff was not very knowledgeable about tram and bus - yet there was a tram stop just behind the hotel. I am not sure how this hotel was rated so highly but it doesn't deserve it.

We were overwhelmed with the space, design and comfort of this little home. The hosts were like family from the first minute till we left. The proximity to downtown ( less than 10 min walk) made our visits n dropping home so easy. The big windows brought in the gorgeous sun light in the space. Though in a Main Street, it was utterly quiet. Zagreb is a safe place to visit and a heaven for the foodies and party sceners!! Once you come here, you will always return. From even before the moment I arrived at this property, I was well looked after. Transfer from the airport to hotel was taken care of and perfect. Check in easy. View lovely. Housekeeping accommodating. Wonderful Malin+Goetz products, along with bedside lavender balm. And the pillows! Evening service (water and a chocolate) delivered with a smile. Restaurant and bar staff so lovely and all with great memories of what you had and may want again. Room service timely. Everyone here has a welcoming smile. This hotel also benefits from a great location. Fitness/pool with perfect early-morning and late-day hours (until 10:30) are a big help to guests who are busy during business hours. Have felt well looked after and will return.

This hotel is amazing, I’m a diamond member and this was the nicest Garden Inn I have ever stayed in. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The bathroom design could be a little better, you had to close the door to use the sink. The people at the front desk were so helpful. They helped us figure out how to get to old town, we walked. Instead of walking along a busy street they told us to walk by their green belt instead, it was only 5 minutes longer. They also arranged for a breakfast box for us on the day we checked out. Most hotels would give you a piece of fruit, fruit bar and water. The Garden Inn gave us a menu to choose from with sandwiches (both with meat and veggie), option of fruit, yogurt and something to drink. The standard buffet breakfast was very nice. Good selections and good quality items. There was parking in the back of the hotel, but there was also underground parking. It cost 15E a day. There were a number of restaurants in the area and a market across the street. Highly recommend. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport and it was an easy drive.

I stayed at Hotel Slisko for two weeks in total and it was amazing! I feel like ”part of the family” to be honest as everybody in the hotel is very welcoming and heartwarming people. The rooms are very nice and the location is perfect as it is close to the city but at the same time in a very calm place. In the morning you can have a very nice breakfast and in the evening you can enjoy the best pizza in the restaurant and a cold drink, served by the friendliest guys that actually like talking to you and have good sense of humor too! If you go to Zagreb - stay at this hotel! You will not reget it!

I’ve stayed in a few doubletrees and found them to be very consistent. The room was clean, spacious, modern with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. The restaurant served some really lovely food and the staff were very pleasant too. I was traveling for business so I don’t know much about it’s location for tourism but overall I had a nice stay. One question though - where was my warm cookie on arrival doubletree?! 😉
