Family-friendly Hotels in Zhenjiang

It was around 6pm when I arrived at the hotel. Miss Yu at the front desk received me warmly and politely, and also helped me upgrade to a river view room. Thank you very much. At the same time of checking in, a waiter brought red date tea, and the front desk also gave me a vinegar gift bag, which felt very heartwarming. The room and bathroom are spacious, bright and clean, and the view outside the window is also beautiful. The location of the hotel is also very good, and it is very convenient to walk to the river. It is particularly worth mentioning that the Mengxi Cafe on the first floor. The breakfast is very good, with a rich variety of meat, vegetables, Chinese and Western breads and desserts, and the service is also very timely. At noon, there is also pot cover noodles, which are cheap and good. When we went to eat, it was almost two o'clock in the afternoon. The waiter and the chef did not hesitate to open the pot to cook noodles and prepare dishes for us. Orange juice was also served. We were very happy to taste the local specialty food pot cover noodles, yau rou noodles and pork liver noodles were delicious and satisfying. Thank you! Such a wonderful stay experience, worth recommending and staying again.

All good except the room service, which I was forced to use, as I had to work late from my room. Ordering was not at all simple (having not spotted the QR code notice on the fridge work top. But response was swift, so too was delivery of the order. However, the ”Ceasar Salad” was sorrowful! Lettuce leaves awash in some sort of watery white fluid, with no discernable taste, some croutons and a few pieces of dried bacon. Especially disappointing given how lovely the fruit and vegetables are most of the time in China. Main course ”Lemon and Herb Chicken” should have been listed as ”Lemon and Herb Skin and Bones”!!! There was virtually NO actual chicken meat. Roated tomatoes and asparagus were lovely, Dessert was uninspiring, but compared to the salad and main course for sure the best course. The Wine? Completely undrinkable. Opened, poured a small amount to taste, spoilt. It happens, sadly! Would be a good idea to open the wine to test before serving

Zhenjiang is my father's hometown. I once passed by on a business trip in the late 1990s. I remember that time I only visited Jinshan Temple. So this time I came to Zhenjiang after retirement. I read the Zhenjiang travel guide on Xiaohongshu, which recommended staying in hotels in the Xijindu area. So I searched on Ctrip and found that there were many hotels with good locations in Xijindu, and it was almost difficult to choose. After comprehensive consideration, I chose Shuxiang Xinbo Hotel. Among the hotels with a rating of 4.5 or above, I prefer the design style of the hotel, which is a combination of traditional and new designs. I was just worried that there would be no parking spaces for self-driving tours (the reviews said that there were few parking spaces at the door), so I contacted the hotel in advance to confirm the parking spaces. They said that there were still parking spaces at the door, and the hotel had another parking lot nearby, so there was no need to worry. Fortunately, we were able to park at the door for the two nights we stayed. Probably because of the off-season, I booked a double bed room, and the hotel upgraded it to a suite for free, with an elevator (the hotel was renovated from an old house in the Republic of China, and the building is about 4 or 5 floors high). The suite has a living room + cloakroom + standard king-size bed room. The space is relatively large and clean. The 2-meter-wide bed has good bedding, soft and comfortable, very nice. In addition to the standard toiletries, the bathroom is also equipped with a bathtub film. This is the only one we have seen in the multiple hotels we have stayed in since we drove all the way from Guangzhou. For this reason, this is also the only time we dare to take a bath in the bathtub in the hotel to relieve fatigue. The plastic slippers in the room need to be called to the front desk (this is the experience gained from this self-driving tour). The little robot will send the slippers up and will notify by phone. It is silent when walking and does not disturb people. It is very cute. Looking at the comments, there are criticisms about the electric control switch in the room. Sure enough, the design of the electric control switch is too alternative and niche, and the operation is not intuitive. You can only grope for the buttons. It feels that it is not suitable for hotel use, especially for the elderly. However, the switch is a small flaw and has little impact. Overall, the hotel experience is still very good and cost-effective.

Walking distance from railway station and has many restaurants and convenience shops nearby. Staffs were friendly and enjoyed good weekend family trip in Zhenjiang.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right next to the Xijindu Ancient Street. The building style is British, the room is clean, and the service is in place, especially the housekeeper Xiao Lu, who takes care of the precautions every day on WeChat, introduces local tourist attractions and local snacks, and the room attendant is attentive. Knowing that we drink a lot of water, he adds several bottles of water every day and sends fruits every day. The only shortcoming is that the water flow in the bathroom is a little small, and the hot water comes slowly and needs to be waited. Everything else is satisfactory.

The hotel should have a bit of history, but the service is very good and considerate, giving people a home away from home feeling! The welcoming attitude at the door is very good, as the hotel facade is worthy of praise! The front desk upgraded the room for free, and sent fruits, snacks, and Tremella porridge after check-in. The children felt very happy! The breakfast is also good, and the price-performance ratio is relatively high! Recommended, worth staying!

This was one of the worse stays, and definitely not up to five-star standards. Hardware: The room is very small, there is very little furniture in the room, there is no refrigerator, no bathtub, the curtains are not electric, there are few light switches and their positions are inexplicable, there is no main sleep switch, the night light can never be turned off and turns on when turning over in bed. The bathroom layout is really average. Facilities: There are no self-service vending machines, the supermarket is closed at night, there is no underground parking lot, and the parking lot is not monitored. Buffet: There are very few types, the Western pastry is not fresh, the Chinese dim sum is not good, the vegetables taste okay, the coffee machine is either out of beans or out of water, the orange juice is the Huiyuan type that is not freshly squeezed and is always empty. Service: I couldn't find a place to buy water at night, so the front desk offered to open a supermarket nearby. Therefore, the service is probably the only highlight. Environment: The surrounding scenery is pretty good, and you can hear frogs chirping at night.

This is our first time to Zhenjiang. This hotel is within 10 minutes taxi ride from Zhenjiang railway station. On 27 Dec 2023, we arrived late at night and all the shops nearby the hotel have already closed. So, no dinner. The reception staff, Fang Rong and 张师傅, took good care of us by offering snacks and carried our luggage into the room. The hotel’s location and environment are fantastic! It is located at Xijindu ancient street where you can stroll along the ancient street. The museum and old British consulate are within walking distance from the hotel, through the ancient street, past a 观音 cave. Another tourist spot, Jinshan 金山 is also within 20 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel’s breakfast is delicious and good value for money. The hotel’s room is very clean, very comfortable and very nice. The hotel’s staff Steven is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Upon check out, we got a small trinket as souvenir. I had a pleasant stay and will definitely choose this hotel again. Thank you all for the outstanding service and warm hospitality during our stay.

The family went to Zhenjiang and wanted to relax a little, so they chose this hot spring hotel. The duplex suite has two floors, each floor is very large, and it is very spacious for four adults and a child. The surrounding environment is also good, and the mountain is very close, so it is very comfortable to climb. There are not many hot springs open, and the pool is not big. It is almost like a private bath for the whole family to soak together. Overall, I am satisfied

In the morning, I arrived at the hotel. I wanted to store my luggage. I didn't expect to check in silky and gave the child a small gift. Really nice! Next to the hotel is a residential area, the environment is quiet. Go out and turn left to Yong'an Fish Village and XX の Small Restaurant, delicious without stepping on thunder Go straight to the left is the pot noodles and meat To avoid traffic jams, I rented an electric car from the electric car store across the road with my child, 20 a day. Saved the trouble of parking in traffic jams. This trip is really the most comfortable one! The blindly selected hotel is simply crooked 😊
