Hotels in Xijindu Ancient Street/Jinshan, Zhenjiang

Before the summer break, I took my kids and parents to Zhenjiang for the weekend and booked two rooms. They were originally in different buildings, but the front desk kindly helped us switch them to the same building. They even upgraded our rooms, and the upgraded room was incredibly spacious. The hotel is right on Jingji Road, which is great for strolling both day and night. It's also a convenient 5-minute walk to Xijin Ferry.

It has a great location it’s right in the city center , for the other things such as the cleanliness and the facilities they are mild and the price is fine, if you on the go and you need an hotel then it’s a very much suited one

The room is near Xijindu, very close to the scenic area. Xijindu itself is rich in history and offers a wide variety of food. We paid a little extra, and the hotel upgraded our room and included breakfast. They also offer free rental of Republic of China-era costumes for photos, which is great for taking pictures in Xijindu. There were also staff members who helped with luggage and complimentary souvenirs were given.

This hotel boasts an excellent location, right at the west entrance of Xijin Ferry. Within a hundred meters, you'll find a plethora of popular eateries, from à la carte restaurants to dim sum places, coffee shops, and even the famous 'Guogai Mian' (pot-lid noodles). The only downside is that it gets very crowded on weekends and holidays, so be prepared to queue. The hotel itself is small but exquisitely designed, offering a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The prices are quite reasonable on weekdays, though they do go up during holidays. It's about a 20-minute walk to Jinshan Temple, and you can easily take a taxi or public transport to Beigu Mountain and Jiaoshan Mountain, both within a 4-kilometer radius.

Check-in: We booked two rooms, hoping to be assigned adjacent ones. The front desk manager was very helpful in finding them on the computer and showing us the rooms and the view. They were very friendly and welcoming. Check-out: We took the evening train back to Shanghai the next day. We arranged a late check-out and an hourly room, which allowed us to return to the hotel to recharge and rest after our sightseeing trip the next day. This was very helpful. Breakfast: The hotel's breakfast was excellent, offering noodle soup, mixed noodles, wontons, fried rice, steamed buns, steamed bread, porridge, soy milk, coffee, fruit, yogurt, and more. The staff at the dining area were also very friendly. Transportation: The hotel is located right next to the Xijindu scenic spot. Just turn the corner and you're right in the scenic area. Jinshan and Beigushan are on either side, and there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Perfect for children prone to car sickness, the hotel's location is excellent.

It's very convenient next to Yaohan RT-Mart. It's in the city center, but the price goes up a bit during the National Day. I booked a parent-child room for 280 yuan.

The room is spacious, and the toilet is fully automatic with a bidet function, which is better than those at Atour and Manxin hotels. The dining options are also good. My only minor complaint is that the lobby and hallway lighting is a bit dim. It's conveniently located, about 1 kilometer from Xijin Ferry and Zhenjiang Museum. The bedding quality in the room is superior to Atour, and you can see the Jinshan Temple pagoda from the window. The gym is also quite large. The service was excellent. I initially arrived and, noticing the dim lighting, canceled my booking. However, after comparing its location and facilities to Atour while standing in the lobby, I rebooked. I have to commend their service; normally, you can't cancel after 6 PM, and I arrived at 7 PM.

酒店還不錯哦，西津渡就在酒店後面，出門左右兩邊走幾步路就到了，這個版本的漢庭我好喜歡，裝修很好看很乾凈，門口停車位還挺多的，很方便，酒店人員也很好，就是有一點我不太理解，我特意加錢定的豪華大床房為什麼房間佈局跟高級大床房一樣，官網圖片和酒店圖片都是有一個小沙發的，我就是喜歡這個覺得吃飯看電視方便，結果居然沒有，對比了下跟高級大床房一模一樣，如果這樣的話多一個選項也沒什麼意義呀

The Zhenjiang Tourism Hyatt was fully booked as soon as I left. Thinking that Atour has a good location, I booked it. The biggest highlight is that there are two cute kittens in the store, which is a big plus. Atour's service is also very good, and the room layout is also very good. There are less varieties of breakfast compared to Atour where I stayed before. The porridge for dinner is okay. The room hygiene needs to be improved. I hope it will get better.

The location is fantastic, right on Daxilu (home to a cluster of modern architecture), next to Xijindu Scenic Area, and less than 50 meters from both Zhenjiang Museum and the former British Consulate (from which you can overlook the Yangtze River from higher ground). It's incredibly convenient for getting around. The architecture is distinctive; as they say, ”the hotel itself is a historic building.” It's internally connected to the Guangzhao Guild Hall and the Bao Family Bank (dating back to the late Qing and early Republican periods). The Guangzhao Guild Hall was essentially a lodging place for merchants from Guangdong and Zhaoqing. In October 1912, after Sun Yat-sen resigned as interim president, he stayed at the Guangzhao Guild Hall during his inspection tour of Zhenjiang. There, he discussed industrial development plans with local figures, such as regulating the Yangtze River and building Zhenjiang Port, and inscribed ”Promote commerce and industry to establish the Republic.” Wandering through the hotel, I not only appreciated the blend of Chinese and Western architectural styles from the Republican era but also saw the clever way old structures were repurposed (like adding elevators). I also learned a bit of modern history from the perspective of ”Sun Yat-sen and Zhenjiang.” Though the number of rooms is limited (only 19), there are several room types, likely due to the varied styles of the original residences before the hotel's renovation. We chose a Republican-style king-bed room. It had high ceilings and a compact layout, but the facilities were quite good, including a kettle, capsule coffee machine, and tea set – definitely a plus! The shower and toilet were separate (wet and dry areas), with an independent bathtub. Even though the walls and floor were concrete, and some of the bathroom shelves matched this style, it was all very convenient to use. The toiletries were also high quality. We opted for the room with breakfast included. The dining area was split into two halls, an inner and an outer. The outer hall had a glass ceiling, providing excellent natural light. The breakfast spread wasn't extravagant but was very thoughtfully prepared: pickled vegetables, salted duck eggs, fermented bean curd, millet porridge, rice porridge, black rice porridge, soy milk, milk, sliced bread, mochi, and croissants. The coffee in the restaurant seemed to be chargeable. The main dishes were prepared fresh for each guest: one steamer basket per person (one crab roe/regular soup dumpling/vegetable bun, plus a piece of mixed potato) and a choice of pot-lid noodles or beef noodles. It was all very carefully done, promoting no waste. The room service was exceptionally attentive. Before booking, I read through both good and bad reviews; most of the negative ones were from a few years ago, suggesting significant improvements. From my personal experience, from the moment the room was confirmed, a butler set up a WeChat group for one-on-one service, responding promptly and communicating smoothly. The room had fruit waiting: an apple, a pear, and two bottles of honey vinegar. When we returned late, the butler messaged via WeChat to say late-night snacks were available on demand, and both nights, we received warm peach resin and coconut milk. Upon checkout, they even prepared a farewell gift. I've visited Zhenjiang twice now, once in early winter and once in early spring, ten years apart. This time, the impression was deeper and much better. The hotel experience was a crucial part of that.
